Lots of dark carpet, and could do with a deep clean (all of the glass a bit murky) we did request a better room which we got but still mediocre reception staff not overly friendly, very good breakfast and very pleasant breakfast staff, well located for markets and old town, a little underwhelmed overall - would give it an ok
The hotel was great location, and old hotel . So quiet easy to go around.
Room was spacious. But towels were stained. Very busy hotel. And breakfast was very good especially halal food was noted too.
A very comfortable old hotel close to the main Chiang Mai Night Bazaar. At check in you had to leave a 2000 baht deposit. Tip- make sure you take care of the receipt as you will need it on leaving
The maintenance is shoty but everything works. The room was clean but the carpets on the 12th floor needs replacement or at least a deep cleaning. It is walking distance to the old town
The room was spacious and very quiet. Great blackout curtains too meant a really good night's sleep for me. Housekeeping was efficient and very friendly, and the room was always cleaned even if I returned mid afternoon

Pros: Riverside location, some rooms offer river and Doi Suthep views; spacious and clean rooms; diverse breakfast options including Chinese, Western, and Thai cuisine; friendly staff, able to communicate in Chinese, free luggage storage; convenient transportation, affordable taxi rides to night markets/Old City
Excellent hotel,a little dated but very clean
Staff excellent
Breakfast fine except no bacon????
Only problem I struck, had a few issues and maintenance never arrived either a lack of communication or no staff
Great breakfast - variety of food.
The location is far from city, took around 25 mins from Nimman.
The room is big and authentic style. Better to renovate.
Location bit far and we do like walking but outside the hotel there are always tuk tuks. Which cost a couple of pounds in English money to go to the centre.
Well run hotel with some eyecatching decor from the Plaza days. A shame Centara didn't take over the one in Sridonchai too!
Overall, suitable for travelers who value views and have a moderate budget; recommend booking a river view room in advance and avoiding rooms facing the street or utility rooms for a better experience

The hotel service was excellent, and the location was great. The lobby was grand, and the pool had a nice view. The rooms were spacious and clean
The room was clean and quiet, and the location was convenient.
The Chiang Mai Marriott is located outside the Old City, but the location is still quite good. It's about a 10-minute walk to Tha Phae Gate and Warorot Market, and about 15 minutes to Chiang Mai Gate
Came to Chiang Mai for New Year's Eve and, by chance, booked this place. The location is excellent, right above the night bazaar, making it super convenient for food, entertainment, and massages.
The hotel's location is super convenient, close to everything with plenty of bars, convenience stores, and street food stalls nearby. The room facilities and cleanliness were also good
The hotel's location is great, the surroundings are lively, and it's within walking distance of the old city. There are various restaurants, massage parlors, and a night market nearby

A gecko in the room was quite strange for such a pretentious hotel
Breakfast could have been done better, as a westerner I like a hot breakfast but eggs & sausage were cold.
Hotel is in a great location just extremely busy when trying to get out of the area via grab around dusk.
As for the bathroom, the sink design is odd, as it is difficult to turn off (one has to position the tap at a midpoint, which usually drips)
The hotel has an excellent location. It looks very posh from the outside. The rooms inside are quite simple but clean. The air conditioning works well. The bed is firm, but within reasonable limits
This hotel is a bit old, but the price is good, and the service is great. There are plenty of food and drink options nearby
There was a kitchen-like space, and though there was no microwave, it did make it easier to bring food back to the hotel

The hotel's located near Nimmanhaemin Road so it's close to many eateries and touristy spots. But it's not so close that it's right smack in the middle of it like Eastin, so you'll be able to enjoy some peace and quiet
My room was located in I'm guessing an extension block they built so it's not exactly in the main building of the property and it's a bit of a walk
When I returned from a tourist site and realized I didn’t have any cash to pay the bike driver, the lovely lady at the reception immediately offered to help and even paid the fare from her own money so I wouldn’t be stuck
Got a free room upgrade to an amazing apartment. Staff can't do enough to help you. Great facilities, lovely pool. Gym looked great but didn't get to use it. Breakfast gave a really wide selection of great food
always smiling and pleasant as well as helpful when asked for anything. No 'western' TV Channels like SKY or BBC (French and German I know. Couldn't find any English Football
Channels either
They also shut off the lifts after a certain time so you gotta know exactly which lift to go to in order to get up to your floor. Breakfast buffet is decent with JP and KR options

Book the premier king room for our honeymoon in Chiang mai. Very good services from all the staff. Location is very good where night markets are just walking distance. Lobby is big and look majestic
The room was very clean and quiet, and they had delicious dried mangoes. The pool has a huge water slide. The lady at the front desk spoke some Chinese, which made communication very easy.
Very nice stay at Shangri-la Chang Mai for 12 days. The location to many tourist attractions and restaurants is ideal, staff were very friendly and accommodating
Super warm hospitality and def embodied the Thai culture, everyone is smiling and always checking in on us. Special shout out to Joe the housekeeper on our floor. He really made the hotel stay a much much nicer stay
Breakfast was good, several new dishes each day and numerous international options. Perhaps there are other options that are better value for the money but overall we were very satisfied with our stay there
It’s just a little pity that the furnitures looks old and towels looks very well used. I had a towel that had a hole. Overall it’s still a very nice hotel. I would stay here again if I’m back in Chiang mai

As a solo parent traveling with children, it was a lifesaver, allowing me to go shopping and relax. The kids even said they want to stay here again next time we're in Chiang Mai
We had an amazing stay! The environment and facilities were excellent, especially the kids’ play area and swimming pool—our child had so much fun. Breakfast was delicious with a great variety
The rooms were comfortable, and my kids absolutely loved the pool – they didn't want to leave after three days! The best part, though, was the kids' club
They even prepared an adorable elephant welcome, which was a lovely touch and made us feel so valued! The kids' play area is huge!
This hotel is a must-stay if you're traveling with kids. We arrived at 11 AM, and they kindly let us check in early
Most importantly, the staff were incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay. Truly grateful for the wonderful experience. We look forward to coming back again!

Other than the fact that they are still using room keys and thus limit you to one key per room and not using the key card technology, the hotel is pretty good and the location is excellent
Great location, staff is very friendly and checked us in early in the morning after we arrived on the overnight bus. Big breakfast buffet with lots of options. Rooms are big and clean. The pool is great!
It's a very old hotel that needs some update! Rooms are nice, though and service is good. Food is awful, only breakfast was good. It is located in a normal place, nothing fancy.
Overall, the location is acceptable and the staff are friendly, but the building feels dated and the buffet was just average
Nice hotel, very clean and tidy. Great staff that are happy, polite and friendly. Facilities are very good, rooms are the same and have all you need. Laundry service available, or use the one at the bottom of the road
You can tell that the hotel is old but it is very clean and it was a great place to stay. The rooms are very large and we received a welcome basket of snacks when we arrived

This hotel was super convenient and location was great. It was near good bars and restaurants. Also we booked excursions from a nearby shop. The pool and included free breakfast was a plus
Located near the old city, and very close to the Anusarn Market (Night Bazaar), the higher-floor rooms offer stunning panoramic views of the entire ancient city
The breakfast has a wide variety of choices, and its convenient location makes getting around easy. It's an excellent choice for a family vacation
The hotel's restaurant garden features a 600-year-old temple, and you can witness monks visiting at 8:30 AM each morning. The swimming pool is also clean and well-maintained
The front desk and doormen were all very welcoming, offering standard five-star service. The room size is smaller than a Marriott, but the design is well-thought-out
The InterContinental Chiang Mai is perfect for families with kids. It's a quiet place with a large, lush garden, offering plenty of space for children to play

Very nice and convenient location next to all the action in Chiang Mai. Nice pool and gym. Would stay again
Very old rooms, but serviceable. Worth the price just for the location, night markets are right at the doorstep. Noise cancelling is poor, lift is bad. Gym is tiny with only 2 treadmills
She would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the staff at Mövenpick Chiang Mai for their dedication and effort in maintaining such a high service standard
Honestly, the hotel's location is excellent, right by the Chang Khang Road Night Bazaar. Everything you need is right outside the lobby. My first check-in was smooth enough, but the room change later on was a nightmare
The hotel was in a good situation. The staff were very pleasant and attentive. I see no excuse for dirty common areas and stained carpets. The through deep clean would help this hotel
I have booked this hotel multiple times for my mum and my mum truly enjoys every stay here. The staff are consistently polite, attentive, and always willing to assist, which makes a big difference to her experience

This hotel is very conveniently located for tourist attractions. It's easy to get around from here, and there are no issues with transportation. Grabbing a Grab is simple, and there are plenty of food options nearby
the lighting in the room is very dim for some room as room change was requested. bed is sunken and maybe alot of changes needed for the place but in compare to the price vs quality and location
Great location, very convenient! But the room was a bit stuffy.
The location is a short walking distance to the Kalarae Night Bazaar and the Hilal Street, where there are many halal eateries. There is a 150 years old Teak Mansion next to the hotel
I lived off that fried rice and toast (waiting for the toast an adventure) with jam. The pool is dirty and there are no chairs to sit anywhere. The location is good close to everything
Lower your expectations from Western standards. Is is an economy hotel with minimal amenities. The good news it is ideally located in the downtown, tourist area of Chiang Mai

i love the swimming pool!!!so beautiful and large. The location very close to one nimman. But the light in the room was not very bright.
Pros
- good location in between Nimman and old city, walking distance to both
- complete amenities in room and in hotel overall, aligned with 4 star hotels
- since its an old building, everything is big - room, lobby etc
Cons
- design is stuck in the 70s, not in a good way
- parking is quite limited
Siam Dragon Cabaret show across the street as well. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The swimming pool is beautiful and clean…fantastic after a day of site seeing. The gym is extremely well equipped
There is a 7eleven across the road, several restaurants and massage places within walking distance. You can arrange trips to attractions at the hotel. Scooter rental across the road
An excellent hotel in every aspect, from dining to the front desk to room service, and safety, including the hardware facilities. Everything was extremely satisfying.
The WiFi is good in the public areas but was not good inside our room. Overall this hotel is a great choice. I will stay here again, for sure! Highly recommended

The area its located in is good for the Xi Peng Festival as it is close to the Maya Comercial Centre which is one of the dropoffs for the CAD Festival. What we werent as happy with was the curtains
This was my first stay at this hotel, and I was truly impressed. The staff were incredibly friendly and provided excellent service
The location is very convenient—just a 5-minute walk to Maya and less than 10 minutes to One Nimman. I also tried the seafood buffet dinner, which was delicious and reasonably priced
Overall, the hotel's location is great; it's a convenient 10-minute walk to Nimman Road. However, the hotel environment and room layout aren't quite up to the standard of the Novotel in Nha Trang, Vietnam
Before checking in, I saw some reviews mentioning concerns about airplane noise, but I stayed for four nights and didn't hear a thing; it was very quiet
Our family stayed at this Novotel for all four nights during our Chinese New Year trip to Chiang Mai, just like we did in Nha Trang, Vietnam previously

Great location and a fantastic breakfast — perfect for sightseeing in Chiang Mai. Rooms were comfy, and tidy with huge bed. Check-in was a bit slow and needs improvement, but otherwise a very enjoyable stay.
Old hotel that has been refurbishes. Ac is noisy, cold but can not be controlled, cant even switch off. Location is ok. Suite room big, but bathroom... too small wish they refurbish that too
This has been my go-to hotel every time I visit Chiang Mai for the past 9 years! It's in a great location with plenty of food, entertainment, and shopping nearby, all at a reasonable price
Second time I have stay at Dusit. Hotel is always very clean and comfortable. Rooms are large , ensuite is very nice. Walk across the street to night markets and the night street food
Big C, watsons, night markets and even a Macs just opposite was really nice before early mornign tours. Breakfast had a neat selection of local (khao soi on weekends) and continental
The best feature was the pickup and drop-off at the front of the hotel was super convenient and a short walk up into the lifts, there’s a little porch for the cars to turn in

Nice staffs, good location.
On check out we forgot Ipad in room but staffs call me and keep it. Thank you very much.
A downside about its location is that it is about 25 minutes of walking distance from the Nimman mall, which is the closest central area
This hotel was fantastic and provides all you need as a tourist here in Chiang Mai. The room was spacious and the pillows/beds were all super comfortable. The breakfast was also great, very sumptuous
Hygiene: Clean and tidy.
Environment: Convenient for shopping, right on Nimman Road. No airplane noise at night, so I could finally get some sleep.
Facilities: Quite new, and breakfast was abundant.
A negative side about the hotel is the pool, which were all very shallow and small and suitable only for kids. There were virtually no adult using the pool
The hotel offers some shuttle busses to the mall, but the shuttles were a bit infrequent, starts at noon, and there is no pick up from the mall back to the hotel

Good location and hotel staff very friendly with the best services clean room good food let's say everything all the best
Great location, Lovely reception area, terrible hotel. The rooms are in need of huge investment. We had a power cut for at least 6 hours, we checked out before power was restored, which did not help
Perfect location
Staff were absolutely brilliant
Room service food was great
Linen service was incredibly fast
We did the Mae hong son loop for 5 days, and we left out bags at the hotel free of charge because we were returning for a night
💯 would recommend this place
That's not how I imagine my vacation
The hotel is conveniently located near the old town. You do need to cross some busy streets to get to old town, but this is not really a huge concern
If anything the rooms are slightly dated, but we learned to actually love this

Was a nice stay there and would like to go again there love the view
Receptionist services very bad,no hot for sgower, very noisy around hotel due to all the birds! i highly don't recommend for any tourists
book this hotel!
Nice hotel rooms and friendly staffs, but everything is broken, old things inside the room and there are no repairs , too bad because Nice hotel but the owner didn't look after.
But they provide Twin , surely they asked me do I accept for twin?
I said yes, because I’ve waiting nearly 1 hour with only 2 guests were checking in

Nice hotel with good location nearby One nimman and Maya shopping mall. Staffs are welcome and helpful. That’s wonderful! Only thing that hotel room was a bit old, especially bathroom
The room was spacious and spotlessly clean. The staff were warm and friendly, and the location was excellent, close to Maya Mall and Nimman Road
The location is amazing! and the price is good! it is near Maya, good hotel! No deposit, and the staff are friendly!
Great location, comfortable even if a bit ran down. Ok buffet breakfast. I will comeback.
Ask for a room away from the lift , was allocated one just outside the lift door ! Was only spending one night , so I didn’t bother to ask for a change
The room is good and clean and wide space . Location is near Nimman Rd ( entertainment area) . The internet speed in the room is quite low.

Location is the best thing of this hotel. It is right smacked in the heart of the tourist area with many cafe, Michelin restaurants, shopping and Spa
Great location, rooms are nice and large. A bit pricey though. Low score for value.
This hotel is in the absolute best location! Nimman One is right downstairs, and there's a night market right below too
The only this that upset me about this stay is that the hotel which is supposed to be good for their 24hrs use room (check-out within 24hrs of your check in time) but i was advised that i can only check into my room at 7pm as the previous will only check-out then
I didnt allow this to happen as i felt the hotel should at least honor their official check in time of 2pm. Anyway, beside this episode, the hotel services was really good
The overall hygiene was good, but they don't provide slippers or toothbrushes. Luckily, I came prepared, otherwise, it would have been quite inconvenient
