Chiang Mai City, Loy Kroh, Chang-Klan, Muang, 132 (2 km from centre) 🧭 Map
The hotel was great location, and old hotel . So quiet easy to go around.
Room was spacious. But towels were stained. Very busy hotel. And breakfast was very good especially halal food was noted too.
A very comfortable old hotel close to the main Chiang Mai Night Bazaar. At check in you had to leave a 2000 baht deposit.
Tip- make sure you take care of the receipt as you will need it on leaving.
The room was spacious and very quiet. Great blackout curtains too meant a really good night's sleep for me.
Housekeeping was efficient and very friendly, and the room was always cleaned even if I returned...
It's former glory days are gone. It was once a very nice place. Now, it's an inexpensive hotel and you get your money's worth. I stayed for 6 nights in Dec 2025. I paid about $40 USD per night.
The maintenance is shoty but everything works. The room was clean but the carpets on the 12th floor needs replacement or at least a deep cleaning.
The location is great. It is walking distance to the old town...
Amazing location so close to walk to the Night bazaar and many restaurants. The cleaner looked so busy with so many rooms not sure if they were short staffed. Great view and swimming pool. Variety for breakfast was amazing.
First let me say the location is unbeatable. I was pleasantly surprised to receive good service. My friend booked a room for me (under his name) but sent an email informing them I would be the person to check-in. Reception accepted it and even upgraded me to a better room on the 22nd Floor. The room was clean, very comfortable and spacious. And what a view. The pool was great and so was the sauna....

Loved it here overall, some slight issues with an annoying [perhaps resident] person who thinks we want to hear his 'personal' prayers at 5am [and beyond] but staff are very accommodating and understanding. The breakfast is standout, 10/10 a true standard bearer, even more amazing given the hotel size. Lovely view.
Restaurant available for late night eating and fab cocktails. Well run hotel with...
Great breakfast - variety of food.
The location is far from city, took around 25 mins from Nimman.
The room is big and authentic style. Better to renovate.
Pros: Riverside location, some rooms offer river and Doi Suthep views; spacious and clean rooms; diverse breakfast options including Chinese, Western, and Thai cuisine; friendly staff, able to communicate in Chinese, free luggage storage; convenient transportation, affordable taxi rides to night markets/Old City.
Cons: Some floors have slightly outdated facilities, and hallway lighting is dim; non...
It’s was an ok hotel, a bit off the beaten track, but easy with Bike rental, not my sort of hotel this time, very busy place, but ok for a few days stay
Excellent hotel,a little dated but very clean
Staff excellent
Breakfast fine except no bacon????
Only problem I struck, had a few issues and maintenance never arrived either a lack of communication or no staff
This hotel is ok. The staff were very good. The breakfast was excellent, the chef greeted people very professionally and in a friendly manner. There’s nothing to do around the hotel. Though it’s a riverside hotel, there’s nothing there for riverside activities. Most of the food shops and massages were very simple. The hotels toilet and bathtub need to be replaced with modern ones.

The room was clean and quiet, and the location was convenient.
The hotel gym is on the fourth floor and is fully equipped. The free weight area and the machines are in two separate spaces, and there's even a fantastic ab machine! It's a dream come true for fitness enthusiasts! They also provide free bananas for a quick carb boost.
The Chiang Mai Marriott is located outside the Old City, but the location is still quite good. It's about a 10-minute walk to Tha Phae Gate and Warorot Market, and about 15 minutes to Chiang Mai Gate. The hotel is right above the Chang Khlan Road night market, which has tons of street food every night. Getting around is super convenient, whether you take a tuk-tuk or a ride-hailing service.
The basic...
The hotel's location is super convenient, close to everything with plenty of bars, convenience stores, and street food stalls nearby. The room facilities and cleanliness were also good. However, it's definitely not cheap; even during the off-season, it was still over 1000 per night.
The hotel's location is great, the surroundings are lively, and it's within walking distance of the old city. There are various restaurants, massage parlors, and a night market nearby. The hotel breakfast is also good with a wide variety of options.
Came to Chiang Mai for New Year's Eve and, by chance, booked this place. The location is excellent, right above the night bazaar, making it super convenient for food, entertainment, and massages.

Chiang Mai City, 108 Soi Nimmanhaemin 17 (in the centre) 🧭 Map
This is a decent place to stay for the price-point it is at, and the proximity to the airport is a plus. The neighborhood has decent dining options, as well. As for the room we got, it did look a bit dated, and the carpet wasn’t particularly clean; it would have been preferable to have a wood-panel floor. As for the bathroom, the sink design is odd, as it is difficult to turn off (one has to position...
Two beds or twin beds I ordered but their twin beds was very funny. Not real twin beds. How should I describe the situation.
The rooms are ok and spacious..but the toilets need some refurbishment
The hotel has an excellent location. It looks very posh from the outside.
The rooms inside are quite simple but clean. They feature balconies. The air conditioning works well. The bed is firm, but within reasonable limits. The staff is friendly.
A gecko in the room was quite strange for such a pretentious hotel.
The room was not really quiet, all night i can hear the next room talk very clear like we live in a same room
Close to Nimman, this hotel offers decent value for money and is clean and tidy. However, parking is a real headache if you're staying in the Old City. My advice? Rent a scooter. Once you've parked your car for the night, don't even think about moving it.

Excellent service and very clean facility. Good breakfast too.
The hotel's located near Nimmanhaemin Road so it's close to many eateries and touristy spots. But it's not so close that it's right smack in the middle of it like Eastin, so you'll be able to enjoy some peace and quiet.
My room was located in I'm guessing an extension block they built so it's not exactly in the main building of the property and it's a bit of a walk. They also shut off the lifts after...

The hotel is dater ...in a nice way. The staff were wonderful ..always smiling and pleasant as well as helpful when asked for anything.
No 'western' TV Channels like SKY or BBC (French and German I know...but...)...or Channel News Asia....on in-room television. Couldn't find any English Football
Channels either.
Truly Heartwarming Service!
I had a wonderful stay at this hotel — the service was amazing from start to finish. What really stood out was the kindness of the staff. When I returned from a tourist site and realized I didn’t have any cash to pay the bike driver, the lovely lady at the reception immediately offered to help and even paid the fare from her own money so I wouldn’t be stuck. Hands down, this is the most value-for-money hotel in Chiang Mai for the 200-300 baht price range. The rooms are at least 40 square meters, come with a small kitchenette and a fridge, and you can charge your devices right by the bed. While the decor is a bit dated, the cleanliness is surprisingly good, better than many older hotels. The rooftop buffet is no longer available, but the pool is still open...
The front desk staff were friendly, and the hotel was cleaned daily. They also have a gym, which was a nice bonus!
The room was really spacious and the location was great. It's an older hotel, so the facilities are a bit dated, but that didn't bother me at all. It was excellent value for money! We were out and about every day, so for a place just to wash up and sleep, it was perfectly sufficient.
Spacious hotel and rooms, clean, super comfortable. Sadly rooftop is currently in state of half ruin but swimming pool was operating fine. Gym older but machines working well. Great location. Really tasty breakfast buffet. I will be coming back
The hotel rooms are spacious, and it's an older four-star property with dated decor, but the price is reasonable. It offers all the essential services, so don't expect anything too luxurious. It's not far from Maya Mall and One Nimman, but you can hear the music at night. There's a long, uncovered walkway from the hotel entrance, so it takes a bit of time to get through. The traffic light at the intersection...
Couldn't find a hotel in the Old City due to New Year's, so I booked this place. The location is great, just a short walk to One Nimman and Maya Mall, which made shopping and dining very convenient. The room was also spacious. The downside is that it's in the flight path, so the planes flying overhead were quite loud. Plus, it was New Year's party season, and that intersection was incredibly lively...

The room was very clean and quiet, and they had delicious dried mangoes. The pool has a huge water slide. The lady at the front desk spoke some Chinese, which made communication very easy.
Very nice stay at Shangri-la Chang Mai for 12 days. The location to many tourist attractions and restaurants is ideal, staff were very friendly and accommodating. Our room was quite small and on the basic side but was kept very clean by housekeeping. I loved the water pressure from the shower, hot in a few seconds and very powerful. Breakfast was good, several new dishes each day and numerous international...
Book the premier king room for our honeymoon in Chiang mai. Very good services from all the staff. Location is very good where night markets are just walking distance. Room is huge and clean. Lobby is big and look majestic. It’s just a little pity that the furnitures looks old and towels looks very well used. I had a towel that had a hole . Overall it’s still a very nice hotel. I would stay here again...
I always love staying at Shangri-La hotels wherever I go; it's probably a sentimental attachment, a preference! The antique-style lobby creates such an immersive atmosphere, and the wide variety of delicious food makes me feel right at home! All in all, I just love it!
This hotel must be one of the largest in downtown Chiang Mai. It's a 10-minute walk from Chiang Mai Night Bazaar, surrounded by many restaurants and shops, making it incredibly convenient. New, modern and beautifully designed hotel. Breakfast was delicious with good variety.
Minor downsides: small elevators (only two), relatively small pool, and soundproofing could be improved.
Overall a pleasant stay and would recommend.
The rooms were comfortable, and my kids absolutely loved the pool – they didn't want to leave after three days! The best part, though, was the kids' club. As a solo parent traveling with children, it was a lifesaver, allowing me to go shopping and relax. It was truly ideal. The kids even said they want to stay here again next time we're in Chiang Mai.
This hotel is a must-stay if you're traveling with kids. We arrived at 11 AM, and they kindly let us check in early. They even prepared an adorable elephant welcome, which was a lovely touch and made us feel so valued! The kids' play area is huge!
We had an amazing stay! The environment and facilities were excellent, especially the kids’ play area and swimming pool—our child had so much fun.
Breakfast was delicious with a great variety. Most importantly, the staff were incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay.
Truly grateful for the wonderful experience. We look forward to coming back again!
I was worried it would be cramped for three people, but it turned out to be spacious enough for four! The sofa is huge, easily big enough for two to sleep on, and there's also a large square chaise lounge. Kicking back and watching TV with a drink was just incredibly comfortable.
The hotel is a 30-minute taxi ride from the airport and a 15-minute walk to the Old City, with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. I stayed in a corner flat for a week, and the room was very spacious. Housekeeping was excellent, keeping it spotless every day. I would give this hotel 3 stars. We stayed in executive room for one night. The building is quite old and doesn’t really match the price we paid. The location is okay, but for this price range there are many more convenient options nearby and in downtown. We had a room with a rather extraordinary view, which was a nice highlight, but the bathroom was very small. The staff were friendly and helpful...
Other than the fact that they are still using room keys and thus limit you to one key per room and not using the key card technology, the hotel is pretty good and the location is excellent. The rooms are pretty big and so are the washrooms.
It's a very old hotel that needs some update! Rooms are nice, though and service is good. Food is awful, only breakfast was good. It is located in a normal place, nothing fancy.
Nice hotel, very clean and tidy. Great staff that are happy, polite and friendly.
Facilities are very good, rooms are the same and have all you need.
Laundry service available, or use the one at the bottom of the road.
ATM machine in front of the hotel to the left, down the steps into the car park.
Short walk right at the bottom of the road to the night market.
You can tell that the hotel is old but it is very clean and it was a great place to stay. The rooms are very large and we received a welcome basket of snacks when we arrived. There are spas and a laundromat close by, and it's not a far walk to the wonderful Anusarn Night Market.
Great location, staff is very friendly and checked us in early in the morning after we arrived on the overnight bus. Big breakfast buffet with lots of options. Rooms are big and clean. The pool is great!

Very old rooms, but serviceable. Worth the price just for the location, night markets are right at the doorstep. Noise cancelling is poor, lift is bad. Gym is tiny with only 2 treadmills.
There seems to be daily free chocolate fondue at certain hour but the hotel staff did not inform.
Room service and cleaning staffs are great.
I have booked this hotel multiple times for my mum and my mum truly enjoys every stay here. It's in a separate building, not the main hotel, and is larger than the standard room type. The bathroom has a bathtub, but the decor doesn't seem particularly new. Eating breakfast every day wasn't very convenient.
Honestly, the hotel's location is excellent, right by the Chang Khang Road Night Bazaar. Everything you need is right outside the lobby. My first check-in was smooth enough, but the room change later on was a nightmare. They wouldn't give me the room key until after 2 PM, which is fine, I guess. This hotel is very conveniently located for tourist attractions. It's easy to get around from here, and there are no issues with transportation. Grabbing a Grab is simple, and there are plenty of food options nearby. It's very convenient for getting around.
Great location, very convenient! But the room was a bit stuffy.
Quite old rooms but still clean. Need to bring the toiletries as they don’t offer. Near the train station so convenient.
We had stayed here on our previous trip. The hotel is old with antique furniture, but it has all the basic amenities. The location is a short walking distance to the Kalarae Night Bazaar and the Hilal Street, where there are many halal eateries.

Hard to describe, definitely avoid this place. You get what you pay for, and this is a perfect example. There were huge cobwebs in the wardrobe and two broken hangers. Whatever you do, don't book the breakfast option; it's absolutely terrible. We were given a room at the very end of the hall, but the male staff members were all very nice.
i love the swimming pool!!!so beautiful and large. The location very close to one nimman. But the light in the room was not very bright.
The hotel is quite old. While the price was relatively cheap, I forgot to check its renovation date. It was supposed to include breakfast, and the front desk confirmed it, but when I went to the restaurant in the evening, they couldn't find my room number. I really dislike such awkward situations. Breakfast isn't worth much, and there are plenty of good places to eat outside, but if it's included,...
An excellent hotel in every aspect, from dining to the front desk to room service, and safety, including the hardware facilities. Everything was extremely satisfying.
Pros
- good location in between Nimman and old city, walking distance to both
- complete amenities in room and in hotel overall, aligned with 4 star hotels
- since its an old building, everything is big - room, lobby etc
Cons
- design is stuck in the 70s, not in a good way
- parking is quite limited
Great location but a little aged but still the location is won it and it almost close to the oldtown, the namia one and airport as well.

Big room. Service is great. Location is a bit far from Nimman but can go there by Grab. Cool A/C. Worth a come back when visit CNX!
Convenient location and helpful service staff , highly recommended
I wasn't blown away with this hotel. I ended up paying big money for what it was (New year to be fair) In addition, a further 600 baht a night for another bed despite the room saying it would sleep 4. Location 10 minutes precarious walk to Maya Shopping area
The room was very spacious and generally clean. Soundproofing was just okay, as I could hear airport noises. There were also small bars nearby, so I could hear singing. If you're particular about sound insulation, this might not be the best choice.

This was my first stay at this hotel, and I was truly impressed. The staff were incredibly friendly and provided excellent service. The location is very convenient—just a 5-minute walk to Maya and less than 10 minutes to One Nimman. I also tried the seafood buffet dinner, which was delicious and reasonably priced. The room was comfortable and clean, making the overall experience even more enjoyable
The front desk staff provided excellent service with a constant smile, making me feel very welcome. The room was spotlessly clean, and both the air conditioning and water pressure were incredibly strong and comfortable. Before checking in, I saw some reviews mentioning concerns about airplane noise, but I stayed for four nights and didn't hear a thing; it was very quiet.
The rooms are clean and tidy. There's a gym, pool, and meeting rooms. The breakfast spread is quite good, and the sunken-style dining area is a nice unique touch. It's about half an hour to the airport, and you'll occasionally see planes flying overhead.
Our family stayed at this Novotel for all four nights during our Chinese New Year trip to Chiang Mai, just like we did in Nha Trang, Vietnam previously. Overall, the hotel's location is great; it's a convenient 10-minute walk to Nimman Road. However, the hotel environment and room layout aren't quite up to the standard of the Novotel in Nha Trang, Vietnam. I'd like to commend the excellent service...
Here's a breakdown of my stay:
1. **Location:** The hotel's location is decent, right on Nimman Road. It's about a ten-minute walk to One Nimman and Maya Mall. Getting to the airport takes about fifteen minutes. There are set meals, grilled skewers, and Chongqing hot pot available right off the main road, or you can head to the mall or One Nimman for a huge variety of restaurants and great shopping...
Very convenient, a quiet oasis in a bustling area. The service was excellent, and the brand's reputation for service truly put me at ease. The mattress was a bit soft, and the single bed was quite narrow, which is good to know in advance. Overall, a lovely hotel.

Great location and a fantastic breakfast — perfect for sightseeing in Chiang Mai. Rooms were comfy, and tidy with huge bed. Check-in was a bit slow and needs improvement, but otherwise a very enjoyable stay.

The hotel is conveniently located near the old town. You do need to cross some busy streets to get to old town, but this is not really a huge concern. The hotel also provides a dedicated shuttle bus to the mall, but there are way too many people using it. The breakfast was not bad. My review is only based with my needs during this stay here.
I only needed to stay at the night. And have breakfast. With this in consideration, and given the fact that we are talking about Thailand, everything was very OK.
Air condition was working.
The staff was very nice, and clearly does what they can with the given conditions.
Breakfast was enough to give you energy until the launch time....

Excellent service and very clean. The surrounding area is convenient. A nice hotel.
