Where to stay in Phi Phi Islands

Upon arrival, things got off to a bit of a rough start. Room 210, while advertised with a sea view, had a very limited one, which wasn't a huge deal. The most unpleasant part was the leaky pipe by the toilet. My request to switch rooms with the front desk wasn't successful. After adjusting my mindset and accepting it, it was fine—the water was clean anyway, and I was there to relax, so no need to dwell...

Every time I visit Koh Phi Phi, I stay at this hotel. It's not far from Tonsai Pier, offering a peaceful retreat amidst the bustling area. At night, you can hear the longtail boats passing by on the sea. Although the breakfast selection isn't huge, it's more than enough, and they offer different options daily.

Our stay at Bayview was fine for the 3 days…we were hardly at our room though. The location is fabulous- close enough to walk to the hustle and bustle of restaurants, the pier and entertainment. If you have little children the walk could be lengthy.. but was fine for us. It is the last resort before the famous Long Beach so there is a lot of foot traffic to Long Beach each day in the peak season....

We had a fantastic stay at Bayview Resort and wish we had longer! It was located just out of the main town centre which was great as it was nice to leave the hustle and bussle for quieter atmosphere. The facilities here were great, having such a nice beach on your doorstep was amazing. Staff were great especially the bell boys who helped with our luggage from the pier and to the room as I will warn...

The best hotel in Thailand. We suffered for the first 3 night in another hotel on Phi Phi and we couldn’t sleep coz of the loud noises from the beach parties but then we moved to U Rip and it was th best decision ever - clean, new, SILENCE, nice pool and great area far from the parties. But still accessible coz it is like 15 min walk. Totally recommend especially if you are a light sleeper 👌

For the price the room is not bad, the location is a little far from the night market. Our rooms was in mountains a bit, if you are young in not difficult to live there. But was a lot of mosquitoes in the night cause was mountainous area, but the problems wasn’t the mosquitoes but drunk Russians couples who was till the morning fighting.

Great hotel & location a little bit away from the hustle & bustle of the port area...beautiful little stretch of beach to walk out to & have a relaxing time at. Definitely wouldn't hesitate to give this hotel another go around my next time in the islands.

The room was very clean. The pool is beautiful. The cool bottles of water for us at the beginning were a special gift. Also the receptionist and the staff.

The hotel is nice, very clean with a good location and very good facilities, it has two pools and one is located at the rooftop with very nice views. The only bad thing was on the breakfast buffet were the cooker refuse to prepare scrambled eggs with fresh eggs, he insisted in a rude way that the mix for the omelette made with milk, salt and butter was the same as fresh eggs. Garden view was actually a view on a building… Service was not great, breakfast was very very limited, staff not the most polite: you expect a goodbye when you say goodbye.

If you're going to Charlie, you need to understand that it consists of several very old buildings with small, rundown rooms located within the Princess Hotel. The Princess is an excellent and vibrant four-star hotel with a great territory, location, and beachfront breakfasts that compensate for the inconveniences of poor Charlie. But overall, you get what you pay for.

The location is decent, but I'm not sure if it's because we're Chinese, but both rooms we were assigned were at the very end of the hall. We tried talking to the hotel, but they said they couldn't switch our rooms, even though we checked in at 11:00 AM and the hotel seemed to be mostly occupied by Europeans. Our room was right next to a bar on the street, and it was noisy until 3:00 AM.

We fell in love with this place, it is amazing, its beaches are spectacular, for hiking it is also very good! If you like to walk a lot you can get to another beach nearby. As for the customer service only with a reception girl we felt that she had no charisma or good disposition to serve us, the cleanliness very good, and the cabins are very comfortable. 100% recommended 😍😍

This is a nice resort in the bustling streets of Phi Phi. If budget and access to the island streets is your priority then this a good resort. They have decent breakfast options. The room layout is confusing. If you are old people with knee issues then the beds are lower to the floor. If you reach the resort after 5pm they don't have staff to help you with the luggage.

This is a wonderful resort located in the middle of Ton Sai Bay on Koh Phi Phi. The location is perfect, close to a lot of famous cafes and restaurants. The rooms are modern with a vintage touch. Our room had direct access to the pool which was super nice. The pool itself is large with a bar in the middle, with some seats inside the pool. It was alright. The bathroom was pretty basic, and showering wasn't very convenient. The soundproofing in the room was decent, and the staff were very friendly. Breakfast was also good, but the only downside was that it was on a high floor with no elevator.

Loved this rustic resort. The beach was private with white sand, suitable balance of sun and shade as well as being close to the bar. We booked the best room in the resort and it didn’t disappoint. A very nice hotel located outside the main center, but accessible both on foot (25 minutes) and by taxi boat (300 baht return). The hotel also provides a scheduled shuttle service (not many). We stayed in room D1, which I recommend, as it faces the sea. The restaurant is very good. There's also an off-site massage center on the beach with very reasonable prices (400 or 500 baht for one hour).

Recommend if you want a jungle vibe far from centre. Bring repellents and water shoes. Fantastic details and woodwork across the Resort and rooms. Cheapest bungalow is really small - consider upgrading if you plan to stay for longer than 1-2 days. Surprisingly - best breakfast across all other (5* too) hotels during our trip!

We were looking for a hotel for two nights and settled on this option. The breakfasts were excellent! The location is superb! Far from the hustle and bustle. The grounds are spacious. The only minor issue was that while many hotels had agents at the pier to pick up their guests, we had to find the location ourselves using Google Maps. Had an amazing stay here. Best part was the location - close to Pier, great food options. Also the hotel got renovated recently, so it is top notch in every service. The only bad aspect was the room size which was reasonable, but given the pricing, I don't think you can find anything better with such great location.

Let’s start for the good … the hotel view is astonishing, just few minutes from the phiphi view point so if you are a sunset lover this is the pace . Now… the down sides , the appliances in the hotel aren’t in the best shape, this place needs renovation, we had to change our room at least the could solve that , the stairs to arrive to the hotel are really up , so I think this is not a hotel for families...

Upon entering the room, I found a dead cockroach on the floor, and a small one the next day. The hotel exterior is decent, but the interior looks more like a standard guesthouse. However, given the peak season, this was the only option for the price. The lady boss at the front desk was okay, but despite requesting daily cleaning, it wasn't done. The service overall is quite poor.

The place was clean and right near the beach. Was loud at night but wasn't an issue to me you can hear the music from the beach at night. Good hotels are hard to find in this island so you have to consider that because this place is one of the best in the area, one of the few with a pool and a good pool with amazing view. The rooms are big and comfortable, they are designed like individual houses. Pro tip, long tail boat drivers hangout at McDonalds so you may to cut the middle man on a private tour.

This hotel offers cozy bungalows that are a real treat to stay in. Some of them boast stunning views of the bay, which was a highlight of my trip. The grounds are beautifully green and well-kept, adding to the overall charm. The hotel is perched on a slope, though, and in the heat, trekking up to your bungalow can be quite a challenge. The location of this hotel is great, and the view from the pool is undeniably incredible. Unfortunately, I feel like they count on this as the main feature and hope that we will see past the old rooms and average breakfast. The hotel is in a stunning location, far from the village and ideal for those seeking tranquility. The view is enchanting. There are 150 steps to reach it from the beach, but they're a welcome change. The only downside is the lack of daily housekeeping, at least for the two days we stayed.

This is my third time staying at HIP. The price was significantly higher this peak season, but the experience was as good as ever. I especially love the sea view and location from the window. We loved the Cove at PP. We were a bit nervous as some of the reviews had been bad but we couldn’t see anything wrong with it. We had a bit of a choppy ride to the hotel and Ponza but that was quite fun. I love the rooms, love the location. It is steep but you just get used to that. Very scenic location with very friendly and helpful staff. We did the view point hike on the first day which was good but be ready for a steep start! Due to the tropical weather system bringing heavy rain and strong winds, we were unable to visit the phi phi area. We contacted the hotel to request a refund, but were informed that all sales are final—even though the weather is beyond our control. Unfortunately, we never received a response from the hotel staff.

The hotel is situated relatively low on a hillside, with bungalows on stilts. It's a budget-friendly option. There's no fridge, but there is air conditioning. Everything worked, except there was no water early in the morning, so I had to go on my excursion without washing up. There's a very basic pool.

Best in budget. I took a sea view room, and it was the best. You can hear the sound of the waves. I had chilled beer and enjoyed the sound of the wind and waves.

Very basic, functional but no aesthetics. Their neighbors burn plastic daily in the evenings and it stinks. The mosquito net is too small and I got bites all night. There are small openings in that building so you cannot keep them out. Every night until 1a.m. party music from a remote party. The view and friendly staff are really the only good things this property has. The location is off the beaten path and quite the climb. Would not recommend for anyone with children or elderly. AC was absolutely terrible. Felt like a legit sauna. Doesn't look at all like the photos. Rooms are mediocre at best. Not worth the price.

The hotel is right on the seashore. It has beautiful grounds with lots of greenery. The bungalows are a bit old, and the cleanliness inside isn't perfect. Breakfasts are good, and the prices at the cafe are standard. In the evening, you can enjoy a delicious and beautiful dinner to the sound of the waves.

Possibly the best hotel on Long Beach. At least, the most authentic. Everything in the rooms is in Thai style, made of wood (other hotels are in more generic styles).

A word of warning to those visiting later: Staying at Phi Phi Island isn't necessary; a day trip is sufficient. If you absolutely must stay, choose a location near the port for convenient dining and shopping. Long Beach is quite average, with numerous underwater reefs and numerous small rocks on the beach. We stayed in room K2, and it was a truly pleasant experience. The reception staff were kind and welcoming. Overall, people on this island seem a bit reserved and quiet—they don’t smile much, but there’s a calm, peaceful atmosphere that grows on you. I would definitely come back. Thanks.
