Reviews
The resort has great spots for drinks and dining. Our absolute favorite was Jimmy’s Café—the food was delicious, and the staff there were super friendly and welcoming. We also visited the Sunset Bar; the deck and views are fantastic, though we felt the atmosphere could be improved with some better music to match the setting.
The beach (Laem Tong) is lovely and quiet, not too busy, and we never had trouble finding a lounger. It’s great that there are other dining options along the beach if you want to explore, plus a handy little shop on-site for essentials like beer, sunscreen, and flip-flops.
A few small notes: the air conditioning in our villa was nice and cold but the unit seemed a bit older and was quite loud at night. Also, while the breakfast selection was okay, I do wish there had been more variety of fruit.
Overall, we had a wonderful time. The staff were all great, and we even spotted a monkey walking casually through the resort! We would definitely recommend this place for a relaxing getaway.
Staff are mostly kids, but super happy and helpful, lovely staff all around you. They never stop working or smiling. Gardens team are amazing as well.
Negatives -
The sunset pool should be closed ! Beyond dangerous ! See pictures added, far too much to list regarding damages and upkeep. The pool was not cleaned in the 3 days we spent here, same bandages floating around for days. I suspected they can’t clean due to the thousands of tiles lying on the bottom of the pool. Doesn’t stop the shower area being cleaned or love cables being made safe !
The bungalow we stayed in is old and tired. The beach front rooms look to have been updated, however you’ll have people walking past and looking in your room all day and night.
There is a clear feel and sign of neglect across the resort, much more so at the roof top pool (sunset pool). From what I gathered the has been no upkeep work in over 20 years.
This is a 3 star resort at most ! Watch out for the flying golf carts 24/7
The main downside was the beach. It was quite dirty, and it didn’t seem like much effort was being made to clean it. Since the beach is the main reason people choose this hotel, it really needs better maintenance. With a clean beach, this place would be excellent.
However, everything related to service was a complete disaster. Even before arriving, we had an issue that took over an hour of discussion, and despite it clearly not being our fault, the responsibility was still placed on us.
During our stay, the service continued to disappoint. Our room was cleaned without replacing towels or paper towels, forcing us to request them ourselves. At the bar, staff members did not seem properly trained, were unable to prepare basic drinks, and ended up serving whatever they wanteda.
Overall, I am very dissatisfied. In a hotel, service should be a top priority and close to perfect — unfortunately, this was nowhere near that standard.
The hotel rooms themselves are lovely and it has great pools and beach access is a bonus. The shuttle bus to the rooms and back is also great and the drivers were all very friendly.
However, the staff did loose my rucksack on the last day. It turned out that staff had taken it to the ferry checkpoint but no one else who worked here were aware of that.
The restaurant for the hotel in the afternoon/evening was also very poor. It was one of the only options around, due to this area being very secluded. The restaurant prices were very expensive and the food was awful, this definitely gave at least one member of our group food poisoning. The breakfast restaurant is quite good and has a decent buffet selection.
The beach access was great, however the private beach was only accessible for a few hours a day due to tides. We went out at 8am and had to leave by 11am. Having said this, there is a longer beach which is always accessible next to the hotel.
Overall we had an ok stay, but we expected a lot more from a 4* resort and were disappointed. Do not eat at the restaurant. We would have personally stayed in central phi phi had we known the layout of the island prior to booking.
The restaurant food was very good.
The staff were extremely helpful.
Be prepared for the mosquitoes!
- Beautiful nature
- Private beach
- Peaceful and calm place
- Friendly and very helpful staff
- Convenient store and cafe near lobby with a good view
- Pretty houses
- Kayaking for 300 thb 2 hours was very good
Cons:
- If you need anything more or you arrived on main Phi-phi pier be ready to spend 300thb one way 3 times a day. Or 1500 for a private boat
- A very dirty swimming pool
- In my opinion there is bad water filtration. Always a bit of a salty taste in the shower and during brushing teeth
- No place to swim properly. One beach is a bit dirty because of people and boats. The private beach is full of rocks/corals and the depth is very small. Have to walk really far from land
