Tharathip Resort in Thong Sala

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights during the Full Moon Party, as prices for all hotels on Koh Phangan skyrocket at that time. The hotel is a bit old, with rooms in a European style featuring old but decent wooden furniture. Room cleaning is done upon request. Our room had a sea and canal view.

This hotel is an option if you don't expect a beautiful beach or the ability to sunbathe on sand, as the hotel practically has no beach. After low tide, some sand is exposed, but the water is ankle-deep and the view of the canal isn't particularly aesthetically pleasing.

However, the hotel grounds are beautifully integrated into the landscape.

I found the menu a bit limited. Prices are higher than at hotels in Haad Rin. For reference, Pad Thai costs 100 baht, and fried rice is 130 baht.

There are no shops or cafes within walking distance of the hotel. You'll need a scooter just to grab a meal elsewhere.

Overall, the hotel can be a good stopover for a few nights if there are no other more interesting options available.
