We had a great, relaxing time here. The view from the terrace is stunning and it is very peaceful and quiet. You can enjoy the sunrise from the terrace.

We loved the hotel owner and staff members’ hospitality, not to mention their awesome breakfast with five different cheeses!

Parking is no problem and both green tour and red tour are close; tour companies will come and pick you up from the hotel.

Very friendly people at the reception. Room has a decent size and comfortable beds. And the hotel is situated close to a 11th clave Houses and churches. Worth exploring +++

Our stay with at Tatlı Kaya Cave Hotel was wonderful! - From the beginning we were welcomed in to this family owned and run stay like family. They offered us tea, and treated us so kindly in each moment. Since we are traveling in a camper van, it was nice to discover that they have a quiet and safe place to park our truck, and someone even offered to wash it for us. The area is surrounded by tomato plants and grapes, squash in the garden, free roaming friendly chickens, and even goats. Our daughter loved to play with their kids, who showed her how to feed the goats leaves from the trees. Bliss.

The accommodations are clean and spacious, with plenty of room to stretch out and enough amenities to feel at home. From the bath tub and shower, to the tea maker in the room, we always felt so abundant. They also made us breakfast every morning which included fresh jams, cheese, eggs, Turkish coffee, tea, the works! Ahmet’s wife even bakes tasty homemade treats. Terrace is also spacious and perfect for morning yoga, or sunset relaxation. Set your alarm, and wake up for the balloons. When they come, they stretch out over the valley - perfect for pictures!

We highly recommend connecting with this space and booking a stay here. It was worth every moment.

Thanks so much!

NOTE: the management of the hotel changed 1 month ago or so, so keep that in mind when reading old reviews.

I will summarize it like this: beautiful hotel in a wonderful location, managed by an amazing family. I have even extended my stay. 6 stars out of 5.

The hotel: it is a family-run hotel and it consists of 5 rooms, a terrace and a lovely garden where pumpkins are grown and chickens roam freely. My favourite part was sitting under the big tree in the garden and having breakfast, sipping a tea or having a chat with the owners and the other guests. The room was spacious, crystal-clean and cool throughout the day because of the thick stone walls. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was superb, with fresh vegetables, fruit, cheese, olives, homemade grape molasses, and more. Plus, every morning the wife was cooking something different, e.g. börek, gözleme, potato fries, etc.

The location: outise of the main touristic tours, Ortahisar is a little gem with a more local vibe and you can reach the center in 5-10min walking. Closeby you have all kinds of services (shops, restaurants, ATMs). You can reach it with shared taxis/minibuses from Nevşehir or Ürgüp even if you do not have a care (like me). Also, from Ortahisar you can hike to Ibrahimpaşa, to Göreme, the Red and Rose Valley, so it is a perfect place to start beautiful hikes.

The family: I kept the best part last. The manager and his wife, their children and their family in general have been so hospitable and sweet that it is difficult to put into words. The hotel is called "Tatlı Kaya" ("Sweet Rock" in Turkish), but I think they might as well change the name to "Tatlı Aile" (Sweet Family) or "En Tatlı Aile" (The Sweetest Family) Hotel if you ask me. As I was saying, they took over the management of this hotel only recently, but you can see they really care about their guests and they are always willing to help you, (most importantly) always with the smile. For example, they offered me with water when I arrived, they offered me food when I came back tired from my hikes and they offered to drive me back to the bus station when I left.

No need to say more. If I were you, I wouldn't think twice :)

We had a really lovely stay at Tatli Kaya Hotel. The room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable — exactly what we needed for a relaxing getaway. It had a cozy feel and was clearly well taken care of.

The hosts were incredibly polite and welcoming, always ready to help with anything we needed and made us feel genuinely cared for during our visit.

We only had breakfast during our stay, but it was fresh, tasty, and a great way to start the day. Overall, a great experience with a warm and friendly atmosphere. Would happily return and recommend to others looking for a peaceful place to stay.

The owner, Sedat, is very nice and accommodating. Together with his staff, he always made sure that we were comfortable with enough bedding in our room. Breakfast was also beyond satisfactory as they always tried to vary it. The hotel is set 10 mins away by car/taxi from Goreme but you have restaurants and supermarkets only 10 mins away by walk. Being away from touristic Goreme means that you are guranteed a quiet getaway!
