Reviews
It might have been acceptable if the hotel was similar to the one we booked, but instead of two rooms, we were given only one — and it was awful. There were dirty spots everywhere, broken cups, and a broken shower. At first, they put us in a basement room without any windows, which we found totally unacceptable. After we complained, they moved us to a slightly higher room with a window. We arrived at 2 a.m., so I decided to stay because we were exhausted.
The noise isolation is non-existent. We could hear every word from the guy at the reception desk. He often talked with his friends until 3 a.m.! Some of the other guests were also arguing with these guys. On top of that, they smoked constantly, and all the smoke would come into the rooms.
We had breakfast included in our booking, but they kept forgetting about it. In the end, I only received breakfast twice. It does not matter anyway - the breakfast was terrible: just a piece of bread with cheap sausage and a few slices of tomato.
Almost nobody speaks English. The overall experience was horrible. All the good reviews are fake. Stay away from this hotel!
First of all, when we arrived, we had already paid with a credit card, but the hotel owner claimed that the payment didn’t go through. After a small issue, we ended up paying in cash and asked multiple times for a receipt, which they never sent.
They told us that breakfast is served at 9 AM, but the breakfast was terrible—literally just two olives, a tiny piece of cheese, two tomatoes, and a bit of jam. No one serves it; you have to ask for it yourself. Hospital food is honestly better.
It was also written that the hotel has an elevator, which it does—but they gave us a basement floor room with difficult stairs. We had someone with us who has leg problems and it was really hard for them. We informed the staff, and they promised to change the room after two days, but every day they kept saying:
“We don’t know” or “The hotel is fully booked now.” That went on for the whole stay!
One day, the electricity was cut off for seven hours starting from 10 AM. When we asked the staff, they said, “We don’t know,” and seemed completely careless.
There is no cleaning service at all! Even for towels, we had to go out and ask for them ourselves. They never provided them unless we requested—this is a basic service that should be available every day!
The room was listed as having a washing machine and a wardrobe, but there was NONE. Literally nowhere to put or wash our clothes. No small kitchen, no shelves, nothing.
Not even water, tissues, or paper towels—we had to go out and buy everything ourselves.
There was a small fridge and two glass cups, just for decoration. No stove, no basic utilities. We didn’t even bother eating their breakfast again after the first time.
Also, we were told our room had a balcony, but it turned out to be a tiny closed glass area barely the size of a bathroom.
The room had no sunlight at all, so you couldn’t even tell if it was day or night.
The bathroom was broken too—the handle that controls the water was damaged.
What else can I say?
The attitude and service were the worst I’ve experienced.
Last time we visited Turkey, we stayed at a hotel for the same price and the service was 100 times better!
Do NOT book this hotel. Not recommended at all.
• The room we were given was in the basement with a long staircase and no elevator, which was never mentioned at booking.
• We asked to change the room multiple times but were ignored.
• The electricity was cut off more than once and nobody helped.
• Towels and breakfast were only provided if we asked every time.
• The breakfast itself was extremely poor — we had it once and never asked again.
• The hotel has more than one name on Booking.com, which is confusing and misleading.
• I requested an invoice but never received one.
• I sent messages via WhatsApp starting from Saturday and never got a response.
I will attach photos of the bathroom, staircase, and screenshots of the ignored messages.
I do not recommend booking this place.
The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, always ready to assist with any requests or questions I had. I particularly appreciated the front desk team, who made check-in a breeze and provided great local recommendations and they are at your service 24/7
The hotel’s location is also fantastic
Overall, I highly recommend Diderot Hotel to anyone looking for a cozy and welcoming place to stay. I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in town!

I stayed at Nippon Hotel during the end of the year and New Year period. The hotel was fully booked, including many families, yet the overall experience was very good.
The service was excellent, the room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, and it fully matched my expectations. Housekeeping and staff support were professional and responsive.
Breakfast offered a good variety of options, and if something was not available, the staff were willing to accommodate special requests, which was appreciated.
The location of the hotel is also very convenient, with easy access to exchange offices, supermarkets, restaurants, and shisha cafés. Overall, it was a pleasant and comfortable stay.
I wish the hotel continued success.
I have stayed at three other hotels in Turkey during this trip, and all of them were good. Only Nippon Hotel made my holiday incomplete. I really regret choosing Nippon Hotel; if I had read other guests’ reviews on Google more carefully, I would not have made this booking.
The breakfast was fair, with a reasonable selection. One of the strongest aspects of the stay was the team at the reception; they were always attentive, responding to guest requests promptly and professionally.
Overall, a comfortable stay with great service and good hospitality. I would happily consider returning.
Thanks to Nancy from the reception she is so helpful and collaborative! Without her the issue was not solved.
I just arrived today at 2 PM, and the room was extremely hot. I asked the reception to check the air conditioning, and they told me it was fixed. I trusted them and went out for the day. When I came back around 10 PM, the room was even hotter!
I called the reception again (different shift this time), and the person told me there’s no cold air, only heating, because the entire building uses central AC. Seriously? Every guest has to accept the same temperature? What if someone wants a cooler room? This makes absolutely no sense.
I told him that if they cannot provide cold air, then please refund my money so I can move to another hotel. He told me to contact Booking.com. I did, and Booking informed me that the hotel just needs to send a confirmation email to approve a refund. However, the reception refused, saying that only the reservation team can do that — and they don’t work on weekends! So now I have to wait until Monday, meaning I’m forced to spend two nights in a room at 29°C!
This is completely unacceptable. Poor management, poor communication, and zero care for guests’ comfort. I am stuck here suffering because of their unprofessional system.
Avoid this hotel unless you enjoy sleeping in a sauna!
