Reviews
From the moment we arrived, everything went wrong. Before arrival, we contacted the hotel through Agoda to ask about parking and were told no reservation was needed and to simply come to the reception. When we arrived at 8:00 PM after a long road trip, we were told the parking was closed. Nobody warned us in advance.
The hotel advertises parking for 15 EUR/day, but the parking provided was not at the hotel, was far away, cost 1,000 TL per day (around 20 EUR), worked only between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM, and was closed on Sundays and on New Year’s Eve. Because of this, we had to retrieve our car one day earlier than planned, which completely disrupted our travel plans. At one point, the receptionist even suggested parking illegally in front of the hotel.
The breakfast was very poor. There were very few options, only boiled eggs every morning, bad coffee, and food that was not refilled. Empty platters were common. When my husband asked for bread to be refilled, the staff said no. I skipped breakfast twice and had to eat at restaurants despite having paid for breakfast.
The room was in terrible condition. There was mold everywhere and the room was dirty. We reported this to reception, but nothing was done. During one night of heavy rain, water leaked into our room. The shower was also broken at first (it was later fixed).
The hotel also advertises free sauna and hammam, but when we tried to use them, we were told we had to pay extra.
Overall, the hotel does not match what is advertised online. The conditions, services, and attitude of the staff showed a lack of care and professionalism. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
Comfortable mattress, not-so-comfortable pillows.
The wardrobe was unusual – it was built into the wall by the window. Either one door was missing, or maybe it was designed that way.
There was no water in the room, not even a small bottle.
Very friendly staff.
Average breakfast: the milk for the cereal was ice cold, even though I asked about warm milk.
Delicious pastry was served.
The bed was short, with my legs hanging down, so I had to sleep right next to the headboard.
There's a restaurant downstairs, and there were some very noisy parties. Even on a high floor, the windows don't block out the noise.
Bed: Nice and firm mattress made for great sleep.
Bathroom: ergonomic hell with poor layout as you walk in. A smaller, new sink would solve this. Some TLC needed. Shower was old and old fashioned but despite that it was one of the best showers ive had. Immense water pressure with a normal but badly located shower head but an extra rain head above. I even had an extra shower at night just because. Plenty loo roll, shower gel and soap.
Bedroom: Don't watch tv so never used it. Central heating was effective. Window opened fully. Electricity shut off just before i left so not sure what happened there. Think a fuse popped.
Location. Literally feet from the tram station. Less than a minute walk. The Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque are on the doorstep.
The other hotel was newly opened but smaller room and lacking few basic facilities. Basic facility like hand wash, trash bin, shower gel and tv remote were missing. Upon telling them we got shower gel at least. shower room was pathetic as water didn’t drain at all. Even after complaining they didn’t take care of it. Room was small and without window even though we reserved room with city view window. Top of that we had to come back to Ersu hotel for our breakfast that is roughly 200m far crossing alleys.
