The location of the hotel is excellent. The check-in and check-out processes were smooth, and the reception staff were friendly. The room service attendant was outstanding-very friendly with my daughter and extremely helpful, which made our family stay more comfortable. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of options. Overall, I have no complaints about my stay.

Very close to the airport shuttle bus stop, which was the main reason I chose it. The breakfast was plentiful, but there were quite a lot of people.

The rooms are quite spacious, and the lobby is a bit larger than typical hotels, with quite a few Chinese tourists. The front desk provides ice water. The location is very convenient, close to the bus station for easy travel to and from the airport.

The hotel is very clean, and the service is excellent! The location is great too; you can easily walk to the square or the pedestrian street. If you need the subway, it's about a 10-minute walk. The hotel even has its own sports bar downstairs with good food and a nice atmosphere, plus there are plenty of small restaurants nearby.

Being our first trip to Istanbul, we were initially lost about where to stay in the city and which hotel to choose. As Barcelo is always a good reference from Spain we were lucky to decide to take a week and stay at Barcelo Istanbul.
The hotel is modern, clean and all services we used were excellent! Rooms are big and comfortable and location allowed us to visit all main city attractions easily. We were impressed by the staff's efficiency and attention. The HR is certainly doing a great job!

A special thanks to the outstanding professionals who helped us Ms Busra, manager at breakfast, Ms Amineh, who prepares the best omelettes in the world, Mr Hussein who is an example of efficiency,
courtesy and dedication, Ms Mineh who always offered immediate room service and cleaning (together with the gentlemen responsible for the room cleaning in our floor—always perfect and fast!), Ms Dilara from front desk (and others as well) who helped us solve all things at our initial days and the staff at Champs with our already friend Abdurraman and the permanent attention of Ms Elif. I am sure we could keep listing all the qualities from so many other people who work at this hotel. Thanks for making our trip really special!

We had a wonderful experience staying at Barcelo Istanbul in Beyoğlu. The room was very clean and well maintained, making our stay extremely comfortable. The staff were all welcoming and polite, with a special mention to Ms. Aygul for her outstanding hospitality and warm smile that made us feel truly at home. The breakfast was excellent, offering everything you could wish for to start your day. The location is perfect, just a short walk to Taksim Square yet tucked away in a quiet area, providing both convenience and peace. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Istanbul!

I had a wonderful stay at Barceló Hotel in Istanbul. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with excellent bathroom facilities and a nice view over the city and Şehit Muhtar Street. The lobby is beautifully designed, and the breakfast truly feels five-star. A special thanks to Ms. Aygul for her warm hospitality and the excellent Turkish coffee during breakfast. Everything was perfect, highly recommended!

I got a free upgrade, the room was quite spacious, and breakfast was plentiful. The staff were friendly, and their breakfast coffee was really good. However, the hairdryer in the room was terribly designed; I had to squeeze the switch with all my might just to get it to blow air, so I eventually gave up on drying my hair.

Cannot say enough good things about this hotel. The staff is so kind and thoughtful. They have great attention to details. We ran out of toothpaste the last night and the cleaning crew left us a dental kit without even asking. Saved us from having to run out again. The beds are super comfortable. Shower is so clean and luxurious. For what you pay for its beyond worth it! Thank you Barcelo Crew!

Review – Nippon Hotel, Istanbul
I stayed at Nippon Hotel during the end of the year and New Year period. The hotel was fully booked, including many families, yet the overall experience was very good.
The service was excellent, the room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, and it fully matched my expectations. Housekeeping and staff support were professional and responsive.
Breakfast offered a good variety of options, and if something was not available, the staff were willing to accommodate special requests, which was appreciated.
The location of the hotel is also very convenient, with easy access to exchange offices, supermarkets, restaurants, and shisha cafés. Overall, it was a pleasant and comfortable stay.
I wish the hotel continued success.

On the first night, I complained to the hotel because I couldn’t sleep due to the heat (in winter time), I was tired then. They were unable to fix the air conditioner, and next morning I asked to change rooms. They moved us to another room that is smaller, for four people, but with better air conditioning. This means I paid for a Family Deluxe room of 35 m² but had to stay in a room of about 20 m². This experience is bad.

I have stayed at three other hotels in Turkey during this trip, and all of them were good. Only Nippon Hotel made my holiday incomplete. I really regret choosing Nippon Hotel; if I had read other guests’ reviews on Google more carefully, I would not have made this booking.

I had a very pleasant stay at the hotel. The property is very clean, and the staff are friendly, welcoming, and consistently helpful. I appreciated the thoughtful touches such as the welcoming fruit plates and Turkish delights, which made the stay feel even more personalized.

The breakfast was fair, with a reasonable selection. One of the strongest aspects of the stay was the team at the reception; they were always attentive, responding to guest requests promptly and professionally.

Overall, a comfortable stay with great service and good hospitality. I would happily consider returning.

Good service overall. In the rooms, the wardrobes are very small. If you plan to go with small children, you won’t be able to enter or exit with a stroller, which really annoyed me. The hotel doesn’t have parking. Breakfast is moderately good.

Edit 1: the issue is solved after a long discussion back and forth with the hotel and Booking.com.
Thanks to Nancy from the reception she is so helpful and collaborative! Without her the issue was not solved.

I just arrived today at 2 PM, and the room was extremely hot. I asked the reception to check the air conditioning, and they told me it was fixed. I trusted them and went out for the day. When I came back around 10 PM, the room was even hotter!

I called the reception again (different shift this time), and the person told me there’s no cold air, only heating, because the entire building uses central AC. Seriously? Every guest has to accept the same temperature? What if someone wants a cooler room? This makes absolutely no sense.

I told him that if they cannot provide cold air, then please refund my money so I can move to another hotel. He told me to contact Booking.com. I did, and Booking informed me that the hotel just needs to send a confirmation email to approve a refund. However, the reception refused, saying that only the reservation team can do that — and they don’t work on weekends! So now I have to wait until Monday, meaning I’m forced to spend two nights in a room at 29°C!

This is completely unacceptable. Poor management, poor communication, and zero care for guests’ comfort. I am stuck here suffering because of their unprofessional system.

Avoid this hotel unless you enjoy sleeping in a sauna!
