Description

Taksim Nis Hotel is a 3-star property located in Istanbul, just 550 meters from the Taksim metro station and within walking distance of the famous Istiklal Street. It offers 26 rooms of varying types, including Economy Without Window Double, Standard, Superior, Deluxe, and family-friendly Connect Triple rooms. The hotel operates a 24-hour front desk and provides amenities such as air conditioning, WiFi, a restaurant, and a bar. Services like luggage storage, laundry, dry cleaning, and paid transfer options are available. The hotel enforces a strict no-pets and no-smoking policy, accepts cash payments, and sets check-in at 14:00 and check-out at 12:00. While it has a fitness center, spa, and massage facilities, these require additional fees. The location near Taksim Square and its proximity to several cultural attractions make it convenient for travelers exploring Istanbul. However, reviews reveal a mixed experience regarding room condition and staff service, so prospective guests should consider these points carefully.

Location

The hotel is situated 15 km from Istanbul Ataturk Airport and 43 km from the new Istanbul International Airport. It stands 550 meters from Taksim metro station, providing easy access to the city. Nearby points of interest include the Republic Monument (394 m), Adam Mickiewicz Museum (387 m), and the ARTER contemporary art museum (290 m). Guests will find several restaurants within 150 to 300 meters and can enjoy the vibrant Taksim Square just a short 4–7 minute walk away. The hotel’s location places you near shops, cafes, and public transport, making it a practical choice for visitors wanting to explore central Istanbul.

Tips

  • Request a room on the upper floors or at the back of the hotel to minimize street noise, as lower ground level rooms have been reported noisy and uncomfortable.
  • Bring cash in euros or Turkish lira, but be aware the hotel may offer an exchange rate less favorable than the market rate.
  • For safety and comfort, verify the condition of your room upon arrival, especially the bathroom fixtures, and consider confirming emergency protocols with staff.

So if you're looking for a place to stay, you shouldn't expect much. It's a bit dated and needs to be renovated. It's quiet and central, 4 minutes from Taksim Square, but I wouldn't go there again. However, if you're just using it for sleeping, it's a good deal.

The stay at this hotel was extremely dissapointing and far below any acceptable standards. The room looked nothing like the pictures shown online, it was in a state of disrepair. The room was in terrible condition, everything felt neglected, destroyed or broken. It was very dirty, poorly maintained and overall hygiene was unacceptable. The bathroom was very dirty, showing signs of mold build up, the toilet was not functional and did not flush. The towels provided were torn and looked like they hadnt been replaced in a long time. The neigbourhood around the hotel was dark and unsafe at night. I would strongly advise others to avoid this place.

• The overall room tidiness was below acceptable standards. • The location details provided during the booking process were unclear, and the hotel was not conveniently located as anticipated. • Walls were extremely thin, and I could clearly hear conversations and laughter from neighboring rooms late into the night, disrupting my rest. • The extra bed (sofa bed) provided was broken and very uncomfortable, making it impossible to sleep properly. • There were insufficient blankets and bed covers in the room. • The curtains were too small for the windows, which compromised my privacy and allowed daylight to enter the room very early in the morning, disturbing sleep. • Overall, the experience was not at all what I was led to expect based on the booking description, and I feel that the accommodation did not provide the basic comfort and privacy that any guest should receive.

On the 29th of December , while my husband, was using the shower in our room, the glass of the shower cabin suddenly exploded. The shattered glass caused multiple deep wounds across his body, especially on both hands. This was a traumatic and life-threatening experience. What made the situation worse was the lack of action and support from the hotel staff: 1. They failed to call for medical assistance or an ambulance. 2. They only offered basic first aid supplies (cotton and alcohol) despite the severity of the injuries. 3. They arranged for a taxi, but it arrived after a critical delay of 10 minutes, during which my husband was bleeding profusely. At the hospital, we faced significant challenges in communication due to the language barrier. Thankfully, I contacted a Turkish doctor friend who guided us to the appropriate hospital. We also discovered that the taxi arranged by the hotel demanded additional payment for transportation. After the incident: 1. The hotel management did not provide any meaningful assistance or compensation. 2. The manager apologized but refused to change our room, citing that the hotel was fully booked. However, he also mentioned that the room with the broken shower cabin could not be offered to any other guest due to safety risks. 3. Our room was not cleaned properly to ensure there was no residual glass, forcing us to stay in unsafe and uncomfortable conditions. This incident has not only caused us immense physical and emotional distress but also ruined what was meant to be a relaxing vacation.

Great location, good room size, comfortable, clean, all amenities available! Breakfast was really great too! The staff were really very nice, and they even hand out Istanbul cart for use while staying at their hotel! I would book this place again. Groceries, eateries, and money exchange was just around the corner. Taksim square was a few minutes walk anyway. The bathroom was tiny, but was absolutely efficient. There was an occasional stench in an area, but I am willing to ignore that as it was not permanent.

Worst Hotel Experience Ever - Avoid at All Costs

**Review:** I recently stayed at this hotel in Istanbul, and it was, without a doubt, the worst experience I've ever had. The staff were extremely rude and disrespectful from the moment we arrived. Shockingly, they forced us to move to another suite before our check-in date without any explanation or apology. To make matters worse, they charged us a deposit, which they never returned, despite multiple requests.

This hotel is poorly managed, and their treatment of guests is unacceptable. The entire experience left a bad taste, and I will never return to this hotel or recommend it to anyone. If you're considering staying here, think twice—there are much better options in Istanbul where you'll be treated with respect.

It was such a horrible place. We booked it for 3 nights and cancelled it the next day. The frauds still charged us for 2 nights. Very dirty and smelly. Ac didn’t work and the staff was very rude.

Simply the worst. The hotel is 0 stars. Should be removed from Hotels app. The staff is horrible, unhelpful, hostile and bullies. Hotel looks more like a run down Motel. Unsafe feeling, dirty, filthy; just stressful place to stay. Pay $10 more and stay elsewhere. It is not worth a penny.

Review – Nippon Hotel, Istanbul
I stayed at Nippon Hotel during the end of the year and New Year period. The hotel was fully booked, including many families, yet the overall experience was very good.
The service was excellent, the room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, and it fully matched my expectations. Housekeeping and staff support were professional and responsive.
Breakfast offered a good variety of options, and if something was not available, the staff were willing to accommodate special requests, which was appreciated.
The location of the hotel is also very convenient, with easy access to exchange offices, supermarkets, restaurants, and shisha cafés. Overall, it was a pleasant and comfortable stay.
I wish the hotel continued success.

On the first night, I complained to the hotel because I couldn’t sleep due to the heat (in winter time), I was tired then. They were unable to fix the air conditioner, and next morning I asked to change rooms. They moved us to another room that is smaller, for four people, but with better air conditioning. This means I paid for a Family Deluxe room of 35 m² but had to stay in a room of about 20 m². This experience is bad.

I have stayed at three other hotels in Turkey during this trip, and all of them were good. Only Nippon Hotel made my holiday incomplete. I really regret choosing Nippon Hotel; if I had read other guests’ reviews on Google more carefully, I would not have made this booking.

I had a very pleasant stay at the hotel. The property is very clean, and the staff are friendly, welcoming, and consistently helpful. I appreciated the thoughtful touches such as the welcoming fruit plates and Turkish delights, which made the stay feel even more personalized.

The breakfast was fair, with a reasonable selection. One of the strongest aspects of the stay was the team at the reception; they were always attentive, responding to guest requests promptly and professionally.

Overall, a comfortable stay with great service and good hospitality. I would happily consider returning.

Good service overall. In the rooms, the wardrobes are very small. If you plan to go with small children, you won’t be able to enter or exit with a stroller, which really annoyed me. The hotel doesn’t have parking. Breakfast is moderately good.

Edit 1: the issue is solved after a long discussion back and forth with the hotel and Booking.com.
Thanks to Nancy from the reception she is so helpful and collaborative! Without her the issue was not solved.

I just arrived today at 2 PM, and the room was extremely hot. I asked the reception to check the air conditioning, and they told me it was fixed. I trusted them and went out for the day. When I came back around 10 PM, the room was even hotter!

I called the reception again (different shift this time), and the person told me there’s no cold air, only heating, because the entire building uses central AC. Seriously? Every guest has to accept the same temperature? What if someone wants a cooler room? This makes absolutely no sense.

I told him that if they cannot provide cold air, then please refund my money so I can move to another hotel. He told me to contact Booking.com. I did, and Booking informed me that the hotel just needs to send a confirmation email to approve a refund. However, the reception refused, saying that only the reservation team can do that — and they don’t work on weekends! So now I have to wait until Monday, meaning I’m forced to spend two nights in a room at 29°C!

This is completely unacceptable. Poor management, poor communication, and zero care for guests’ comfort. I am stuck here suffering because of their unprofessional system.

Avoid this hotel unless you enjoy sleeping in a sauna!
