Avantgarde Urban Levent in Istanbul

When I went to the restaurant after 9pm, I thought I was the only customer there.
I sat right in front of the bar.
However, the bartender kept talking loudly to a staff member who had just come out of the kitchen for 40min to 1 hour.
This made my dinner extremely unpleasant.
Also, when I was halfway through my beer, a fly got into it. The waiter noticed, but only took away the remaining beer.
He charged me 100% of the bill without even preparing a replacement beer.

I will never repeat this restaurant.

This is absolutely not a 5 star hotel. We stayed here due to my husband getting a hair transplant and this is a hotel they partner with. The location to the facility is great...just a 3 min drive or 5 min walk. There are also a few malls within a 15 min walk. The front desk staff was hardly any help for any questions or requests. The rooms are barely sufficient. They are outdated with a lot of issues. Broken drawers, the shower head hanging off the wall. It wouldn't stay in one place so it was hard to take a proper shower. The bed was pretty disappointing. The sheets and comforter barely covered the bed and the quality was not 5 star quality. When attempting to check out at 2am the front desk staff seemed clueless about what we were asking. Told him we were checking out and he tried giving us a room key and said we were all set then when our taxi arrived he realized we were trying to leave. So I'm not sure what he did on his computer the first time. The restaurant is inconsistent, ordered the same meal on different days and it was made differently every time. I'd say it's a 2 star hotel max and I don't think the company should advertise this hotel as a 5 star nor should this hotel advertise itself as such. This creates an unrealistic expectation.

Also, when they respond to poor reviews, they use a generic template and don't fill in all of the fields hence why the response to my review is edited but they made the same mistake with other reviews. Nothing about this hotel is authentic.

Absolutely the Worst Hotel Experience of My Life – Avoid at All Costs!*

I’ve stayed in many hotels around the world, but this was by far the worst and most traumatic experience I’ve ever had. The hotel is *extremely old, filthy, and completely misrepresented* in the photos online. What was shown as a clean, modern room turned out to be the total opposite — *dirty, outdated, and in unacceptable condition*.

The most horrifying part was that *dirty wastewater from the upstairs bathroom was leaking into the bathroom of our room*, creating a disgusting and unsanitary situation that no one should have to endure. It was not only unpleasant but clearly a *serious health hazard*.

Despite informing the staff, the issue was not properly addressed. Instead of offering a genuine solution, we were moved to another room which turned out to be even worse.

This experience caused *tremendous stress and anxiety*, especially for my wife who was staying alone in a foreign country and doesn’t speak the local language. Instead of a peaceful stay, it turned into a nightmare.
I would *never recommend this hotel to anyone*, and I strongly advise Booking.com to reconsider working with such a poorly managed and deceptive property.

*This hotel should be investigated and held accountable.* It has left us with an unforgettable negative memory, and I will be pursuing further action to recover the financial and emotional damages caused.
