We stayed at the hotel for five days. The convenient location is a plus, close to the tram stop and the Taksim metro station. The room itself is large, with a table and chairs. As you can see from the photo, the windows are located downstairs for some reason, so the room was always very dark, even with the lights on. There's also a kettle in the room, but it's broken—it wouldn't turn off automatically, so we had to unplug it ourselves after boiling. There's a refrigerator in the room, and when we moved in, it contained two bottles of water and dishes (two plates, two glasses, a knife, and two forks—everything was very dirty, we couldn't understand why they hadn't cleaned it after the previous occupants). The room was quite warm, even hot; we had to open the windows at night, but it was impossible to sleep—it was so noisy outside. The room was also poorly soundproofed; we stayed on the second floor and could hear everything going on at reception, and sometimes someone was talking there until midnight. I also ask the hotel to correct the information in the description: there was no daily cleaning, not even the trash was taken out. Three days later, we asked for our room to be cleaned, and they did clean it. They seemed to clean it properly (they washed the floor and didn't change the towels or linens), but they rearranged everything and even threw out some necessary items. This was disappointing. The WiFi also worked very poorly. Overall, the price doesn't match the quality, and I don't recommend this hotel.

The hotel is close to Taxim Square, straight road, nice staff, our room was on the 4th floor, the elevator only goes up to the 3rd floor. But the staff helped carry our suitcases to the room.

We stayed in this hotel for four nights, and it was not cleaned even a day. The hotel should provide sanitary products every day. We booked an economy room on Ctrip, but the hotel gave us a basement floor. It was very dirty and the air pollution was bad. We asked for it. The hotel owner said to pay extra for the upper floor room. There was no way to get through the language, so he had to pay extra. But the service was so bad. It was very difficult to walk on the slope. This hotel is a trap.

Review – Nippon Hotel, Istanbul
I stayed at Nippon Hotel during the end of the year and New Year period. The hotel was fully booked, including many families, yet the overall experience was very good.
The service was excellent, the room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, and it fully matched my expectations. Housekeeping and staff support were professional and responsive.
Breakfast offered a good variety of options, and if something was not available, the staff were willing to accommodate special requests, which was appreciated.
The location of the hotel is also very convenient, with easy access to exchange offices, supermarkets, restaurants, and shisha cafés. Overall, it was a pleasant and comfortable stay.
I wish the hotel continued success.

On the first night, I complained to the hotel because I couldn’t sleep due to the heat (in winter time), I was tired then. They were unable to fix the air conditioner, and next morning I asked to change rooms. They moved us to another room that is smaller, for four people, but with better air conditioning. This means I paid for a Family Deluxe room of 35 m² but had to stay in a room of about 20 m². This experience is bad.

I have stayed at three other hotels in Turkey during this trip, and all of them were good. Only Nippon Hotel made my holiday incomplete. I really regret choosing Nippon Hotel; if I had read other guests’ reviews on Google more carefully, I would not have made this booking.

I had a very pleasant stay at the hotel. The property is very clean, and the staff are friendly, welcoming, and consistently helpful. I appreciated the thoughtful touches such as the welcoming fruit plates and Turkish delights, which made the stay feel even more personalized.

The breakfast was fair, with a reasonable selection. One of the strongest aspects of the stay was the team at the reception; they were always attentive, responding to guest requests promptly and professionally.

Overall, a comfortable stay with great service and good hospitality. I would happily consider returning.

Good service overall. In the rooms, the wardrobes are very small. If you plan to go with small children, you won’t be able to enter or exit with a stroller, which really annoyed me. The hotel doesn’t have parking. Breakfast is moderately good.

Edit 1: the issue is solved after a long discussion back and forth with the hotel and Booking.com.

I just arrived today at 2 PM, and the room was extremely hot. I asked the reception to check the air conditioning, and they told me it was fixed. I trusted them and went out for the day. When I came back around 10 PM, the room was even hotter!

I called the reception again (different shift this time), and the person told me there’s no cold air, only heating, because the entire building uses central AC. Seriously? Every guest has to accept the same temperature? What if someone wants a cooler room? This makes absolutely no sense.

I told him that if they cannot provide cold air, then please refund my money so I can move to another hotel. He told me to contact Booking.com. I did, and Booking informed me that the hotel just needs to send a confirmation email to approve a refund. However, the reception refused, saying that only the reservation team can do that — and they don’t work on weekends! So now I have to wait until Monday, meaning I’m forced to spend two nights in a room at 29°C!

This is completely unacceptable. Poor management, poor communication, and zero care for guests’ comfort. I am stuck here suffering because of their unprofessional system.

Avoid this hotel unless you enjoy sleeping in a sauna!
