Reviews
A bit noisy at night, but everything calms down until 2am, especially noisy on weekends, but bearable.
The room is a bit tired, but clean and has everything, water, tea, towels, shampoos.
TV with a YouTube and Netflix button.
Cleaning every day, change of towels, + coffee, tea.
My friend was allowed to leave her suitcase until the transfer until the evening for free. Hospitality 🫶
From the metro 5 minutes maximum. A little noisy, but not so much that it was impossible to sleep. I am sensitive to noise, it's normal here.
There are excellent coffee shops downstairs, there are local restaurants, very tasty, although not cheap. Nearby is the Beatrice restaurant on the roof, super vevepo to have a glass with a view of Istanbul at night.
Istiklal is 5 minutes walk, if anyone needs it)
The best area of Istanbul.
I will choose the hotel on my next trips 👍👍 I recommend it.
Cleanliness was also a concern, with a shower that overflowed during use. Although the staff were friendly and promptly changed my room, it still lacked basic amenities like enough towels.
On the positive side, the hotel is in a great location, but given the condition of the rooms and the price, there are surely better options nearby. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel unless significant improvements are made.
Does not look like the images on the website and the room was dirty upon arrival.
The spa feels like a tiny dingy basement, and the spa was initially the reason I booked the hotel in the first place. Not worth it!
I’m sorry but lots of improvements will have to be made for this hotel to even reach one star.
I will address most of the comments we have seen, and add our own views below.
Staff: the staff were lovely and very helpful.
Location: the location is excellent. We would stay here again, just for the location. It is very close to a metro and bus stop, lots of amazing restaurants, attractions etc. It is also right next to a supermarket.
Breakfast: the breakfast was great. We don't understand the negative reviews about the breakfast. There was a variety of warm savoury dishes, cold dishes and sweet dishes. It is a buffet. They changed up the warm dishes slightly between the two days. The only feedback I'd give the hotel on the breakfast is that they should consider labelling the food.
Safety: we felt safe here.
Cleanliness: we thought the room was relatively clean.
Quality of the rooms: we agree with some of the other reviews that the building and rooms are dated , and there are marks on the walls etc, but honestly, we didn't care. We are not staying at a hotel to look at a perfectly white crisp wall. The water pressure / shower was amazing. The bed was so comfortable.
Wifi: the wifi worked well.
Noise: given the great location, you are of course very close to some noisy bars. It wasn't a big issue for us, but if you are a light sleeper, pack ear plugs.
Pool, spa & sauna: the pool was fine. It was a good temperature, and we had no issues with it. The small spa attached to the pool was not working. The sauna was working, but had to be turned on for us (so it took a while to heat up). We did not get massages, but they were available. This is the main reason for us only giving 3 stars.
We checked out a day early as we had an early flight the next day and wanted to stay closer to the airport. The staff genuinely seemed to want to make sure everything was okay. We stayed in a 5 star airport hotel & spa and our experience at the spa really put our experience at this spa into perspective. We'd recommend staying here if you want a good hotel in a great location with a great buffet breakfast. We would not recommend staying here if your focuses are the spa & wellness facilities.
Note also: I tried to leave my review on Booking.com but unfortunately I didn't write it soon enough (it's only been a couple days since we checked out).
The location is fantastic with lots of places close by to eat, visit and get conveniences.
The rooms are showing their age, airconditioning works okay but not freezing cold during the heat.
Overall for the price, I can't complain - it was neat and clean enough, and the staff do what they can.
The location is great, my room okayish. However:
- the WiFi is completely completely useless (very inconvenient when no data roaming abroad with you usual provider)
- the breakfast buffet is very very basic and not worth the price, barely any fresh fruits…
- communication with the staff was poor. They didn’t handle any of my complaints… all I had as an answer when facing an issue was « I’ll talk to my manager » or « I’ll ask the tech guy » but my problems were eventually never fixed…
- ordered a room service in the middle of the night through their web app, order got confirmed, waited more than an hour starving, to eventually be told the kitchen was closed with barely any excuses other than « oups, shouldn’t happen, will talk to my manager »
- the spa was definitely the biggest disappointment, while it was the main reason why I picked this hotel in the first place. It was not working during my entire stay, could just enjoy a blurry tiny indoor pool. Absolutely no staff there to help. I ended up paying extra money to go for spa and Turkish bath in other hotels… definitely not worth it.
- last impression was quite bad, since I was heavily pressured to leave a 5 star review during the check out, had to lie about my phone not working so that they would stop insisting. Kindly asking is okay, demanding is definitely not.
Overall, it was definitely not worth the price, and nothing really justifies the 4 stars of this hotel… it might be a great deal for half the price I paid maybe. I don’t recommend, especially if you want a hotel spa just like I did.

The rooms have molded floors around the bathroom, smell like mold and the view is non existent.
Bathroom ceilings are molded and when you take a shower the whole bathroom area has couple of centimeters of water. The shower was broken as well.
The beds are on the lower side of the comfort as well and the room isolation is like a cardboard.
Absolutely an awful experience and would not recommend despite the good location. I am leaving pictures so anyone can be a judge (can’t leave the scent unfortunately). It’s a 3 star hotel at the absolute most and don’t know how they got 4… maybe few years ago, but now everything is run down.
The manager Georges repeats 10 times how everything can be arranged and have a nice experience, but actually takes no action at all.
The staff tries to be nice and helpful but does nothing as well, probably because of management.
Note:
As a reply to the comment below, since its not possible to respond. We are free to do what we like stay or not, comment or not. Despite the wrong reservation, i left photos which has nothing to do with the reservation but just showing the real image of the hotel. So everyone can be a judge.
I stayed at Georges Hotel Galata for five nights and had a great experience. The location is perfect: steps from Galata Tower and all the energy of Beyoğlu, with Karaköy's waterfront just down the hill.
The rooms have beautiful high ceilings that make the space feel elegant and airy. The showers are wonderful, and I loved the thick towels and sheets (plus there's a heated towel warmer, which is a nice touch). PRO TIP: ask for a room on the garden side if you can. The neighbourhood is lively and bustling, but the garden-facing rooms are surprisingly quiet.
What really stood out was the service. The concierge staff are genuinely kind and helpful, not just going through the motions. They made reservations at local restaurants for us and gave great recommendations. When I had a plumbing issue in my room, the manager Mr. Serkan personally checked on it multiple times and made sure everything was handled professionally. That level of attention makes a real difference.
Oh, and there's a charming resident cat named Lollipop who adds personality to the place
The rooftop bar has spectacular views and excellent cocktails. If you're looking for boutique luxury with personal service in the Galata area, I'd definitely recommend Georges Hotel.
