Helios Hotel in Side

Rooms are ok ,cleaned Daily with air con and a tv, food was ok nearly the same every day , the desserts were lovely and the service was good (there is a language barrier for English speakers ) but google translator helps with that.the location is a sketchy street. Over all enjoyed the stay thank you

Arrived after a delayed flight to a warm welcome at 2:30am. Having stayed here last year and having an awful time (the hotel was full of awful guests from all over the world) I decided to give it another try. Travelled as a group of 2 adult ladies (cousins) and 2 teenage girls. Room was cleaned daily, we had a family suite which was spacious with a balcony overlooking garden. Air con was fantastic and very necessary. Updated bathroom with large shower cubicle, large vanity mirror and hairdryer which worked well. Bedroom 1 had a new large, very comfortable bed, access to balcony and dressing table with drawers and stool, bedside tables with drawers. Studio Bedroom had access to balcony, 2 single beds, sofa (I think it was a sofa bed) fridge and was very spacious. Wardrobe with safe was in the hallway along with luggage store. Food was great, always something tasty and fresh, plenty of salads and at dinner,a freshly cooked bbq every evening along side the usual buffet options, plenty of choice at every meal. Pool is fairly small but was never crowded. The sun has gone from the pool area by 4:30 but sun lovers have the beautiful private beach area just 10 minutes walk away (or take advantage of the free shuttle bus) Lunch is served at the beach restaurant along with a full range of non alcoholic hot and cold drinks. (Alcohol is available at the beach, but not as part of the AI package) The bar at the poolside was never crowded and staff were attentive and constantly walking around to see if more drinks were required. All staff were super friendly. English speaking is limited but Google translate provided us with laughs, fun and some great conversations with good people. There is a Spa with massage and other treatments available, my cousin took advantage of this and reports were very favourable. One of the girls celebrated her birthday while we were there, the staff decorated a table for her and made her feel really special. Would definitely recommend Helios Hotel.

I really don't understand the negative reviews on here, we're (currently, as of 8/7/2025) staying at Helios, and everything is more than good for a 3 star hotel. The staff are very attentive and friendly, they don't seem to be able to do enough for us, constantly checking we're ok and bringing our regular order of drinks to the poolside. (I heartily recommend trying the Raki, it's absolutely my evening drink-of-choice)
There's a self-serve fruit juice machine poolside, too, but the plastic cups provided are a bit flimsy. (If you're going to carry more than two, I'd recommend repeat trips)
I've seen terrible reviews about the food too, but we've had 6 meals here (arrived early hours of 7/8/25) and each day there's been different options for the protein, the salads/accompaniments are well stocked and there has, so far, been different options for carbs (rice, potatoes in various forms, pasta and fresh breads)
The beach is clean, spacious and there are more than enough sunbeds, either in the shade, under a canopy or in the full sun. There's a free shuttle service from the hotel to the beach and back, five times a day, starting at 0900 and the last trip leaving the beach at 17.10 to return to the hotel. Today we walked back and it's a 10/15 minute stroll, should you want to leave outside the shuttle times. The all-inclusive wristband gets you unlimited cold drinks at the beach cafe, we haven't had to have a hot drink there; it's currently 40 degrees here! and the lunch selection at the beach cafe/bistro again has a varying selection of proteins and vegetables, along with fresh fruit.
We have another 5 days here, and if the last two are anything to go by, we will have had a brilliant stay here at Helios.
Yes, the room is basic, but we really only use the room as somewhere to sleep (the Aircon is a great help!) The shower water pressure is brilliant and fresh towels are provided daily.

Rooms were basic but service was excellent, especially Jerry who constantly brought us drinks in the pool without having to ask! Beach area is great with free sunbeds for hotel guests. Was pretty quiet and no fighting for sunbeds. Food was limited and repetitive but not bad. Overall had a lovely and relaxing stay.

Best friends came at short notice for a well needed break. Great reception on arrival and cases taken to our room, which by the way was immaculately clean as well as the rest of the hotel. Food limited on first 2 days as very little occupancy but were not fussy, improved when more people arrived.
Waiters Jerry Ahmet ( James Bond ) mazlum oguz couldn’t do enough for us.
Beach shuttle fantastic although they did omit to tell us one day it was leaving an hour later. Plenty of sun beds in sun and shade.
Lunch available with a small variety.
Only a few issues shower head not on wall and cold some days but otherwise for a 3 star hotel we have had a fantastic time meeting Turkish German and Polish nationals, how did we manage before translator.
Well done Helios hotel would definitely recommend and return.

Overall we enjoyed our stay. Osman in reception was very friendly and always took the time to chat with us about our day and was very helpful with advice. Spoke good English. The hotel is small and a little out the way but it is peaceful and the pool was lovely. They offer a free shuttle to their private beach although we didn’t use it as we were out on day trips a lot. The room service will give fresh towels etc every day if you put the door hanger on for it. The only reason we knocked a star off was the food offered limited choice and we rarely enjoyed the main meals although the desserts were lovely and plenty to choose from with those! Dont buy clothes/shoes from the shops by the hotel, they pressure you and overcharge and get aggressive and/or defensive if you say no or try to return anything.

Please ignore the previous negative reviews this was a lovely hotel, it says 3 stars that’s what you are getting! Staff were lovely. Breakfast was the same everyday but was so tasty, food is more traditional but was still nice, rooms were cleaned everyday with fresh towels, only negatives are the floor hadn’t been cleaned when we first arrived, and then wifi was only available done stairs.

Staff struggle with English. No whiskey, but the food is stunning and fresh. Plus it's 100m from the main road so don't get the traffic noise. Would return for a cheap get away but if you intend to stay in the room then it's not for you.
