Reviews
Environment: The surroundings are amazing. Every day you can choose to travel by boat or buggy, and they arrive very quickly, which is a big plus.
Service: Sometimes the attitude felt a bit off, and I'm not sure if it was because we are Chinese.
Hotel Garden Environment: Mediocre. It's like a basic model of a slightly better resort hotel in China, nothing about it is as 'amazing' as the room rate suggests.
Restaurant: We pre-booked the buffet dinner. Before and during the meal, they repeatedly asked if we wanted drinks or water, without ever mentioning that the buffet only included food and no beverages. They served everyone a drink, including water, very 'attentively,' one per person. Then, after we finished eating, they told us all drinks, including the water, were chargeable, totaling 1600 RMB. They completely set a trap for guests. Truly a rip-off! (The champagne, drinks, fruit, and desserts in the public living room downstairs were free, and we didn't touch them, but once we went to the buffet restaurant, they became chargeable, and we were only told after eating.)
Food: The dinner selection was slightly varied, but there was virtually nothing suitable for Chinese palates. Breakfast was even worse, far inferior to hotels that cost two or three thousand a night here. There was hardly anything to eat.
Check-in Process: It took a full 50 minutes. The front desk staff kept typing on the keyboard; I have no idea what they were so busy with. Anyone without patience would have gone crazy on the spot.
Check-out: A staff member came to the room to personally check if we had consumed anything from the mini-bar, and made sure we signed to confirm. As if afraid guests wouldn't be honest. Moreover, very few hotels nowadays take deposits upon check-in, yet they do, and it takes 30 working days to get it back! It's truly baffling that this hotel cares so much about the interest on such a small deposit.
Overall, the stay was a terrible experience, with no service to speak of. The hotel environment and room rate are severely mismatched. This is the worst choice I have ever made.
The kids club was a highlight. Our son had an absolute blast, and the entire team made him feel welcomed and cared for every single day. It’s rare to find a place that balances luxury with genuine family-friendly warmth, and this hotel did it effortlessly.
We left feeling rested, grateful, and already talking about when we’ll return. Highly recommended.
The concierge service was disappointing and needs improvement. Arranging travel plans was unnecessarily difficult, and follow-up was lacking. Despite being told someone would get back to me, I was never offered a call back, which made the process frustrating and time-consuming. This detracted from what was otherwise an nice stay.
The Madinat Jumeirah complex is the most impressive I’ve ever seen, a massive network comprising Al Qasr, Al Naseem, and the Beach Hotel. Since they are all connected, you can 'resort hop' to endless restaurants, take long walks along the pristine beach, or call a buggy to take you anywhere in the complex. You never run out of things to do.
What makes Dar Al Masyaf special is the immersive 'Arabian Village' design. Being able to take unlimited abra (boat) rides through the lagoons, even to dinners, felt like a fairytale. My butler was exceptional, seamlessly arranging transport the moment I was ready to head out.
If there's such a thing as 6 or 7-star resorts, this is it. It’s a destination I would travel across the world for.
Each plate is a masterpiece. Every ingredient is treated with care, and the flavors are perfectly balanced. It is evident that the chefs here are not only professionals but true artists. Their creativity and attention to detail transform every meal into a celebration of taste and aroma.
Beyond the incredible cuisine, the service is flawless. The staff anticipates every need, making each guest feel valued and special. It’s rare to find a place where professionalism is paired so seamlessly with genuine warmth and hospitality.
We are genuinely grateful for the experience and for the effort that goes into making every visit remarkable. Thank you to the entire team for your dedication, your talent, and your passion — it truly makes every moment here unforgettable.
We always look forward to returning and sharing our gratitude, knowing that every visit will continue to delight and inspire.
We will come back soon
