Comfotel BLU in London

I cancelled my stay after a direct booking from their website. After calling them some barely understandable man will proceed to become annoyed with me. Saying I can "cancel myself", whatever that means. I booked directly from their site so I cannot. He said he would "check and call me back" which he obviously didn't. After calling again he just got pissy with me, like I'm not allowed to call him. Like, I am, I cancelled within the cancellation period and this dingy place wants to keep my money? I will file a police report.

I was booked at a hotel across the road but was moved here to this hotel. First we got a twin room at the top floor. The room was pretty nice actually, but we could only stay in the room over the night, as it was already booked. Next day when we got home from a full day of London sightseeing the hotel manager had gone into our room, packed up our stuff and moved everything BY HIMSELF! Now we had been moved to a bigger room (bigger but unclea and smelly room) in the basement. The room was unclean, and remained uncleaned through our whole visit. Cigarette butts and candy wrappers in ALL of the drawers which left a horrible smell in our room. Every night people would come and knock on our window, and the noise outside was INCREDIBLE! Could hardly sleep a thing! The streets outside were filled with police cars, ambulances and gangs every night. The breakfast was pretty boring and plain. 2 Toasts, 1 small plate of scrambled eggs and a bowl of cereal. If you were lucky, you could get a glass of juice. The asian woman who did the breakfast every morning was really the only good thing about this hotel. She was really nice! When we arrived home again we noticed A LOT of the stuff we had bought, such as books, DVDs and CDs, were GONE! Somehow when we had left the hotel, these things had vanished from my suitcase. NEVER AGAIN!

We had booked with another hotel, but they showed us the way to Acropolis, their sister hotel. We stayed there for one night (we were supposed to stay for two nights). There was dirty underwear next to my bedside table (and no it wasn't mine). The shower and wash basin were dirty! We were absolutely terrified at night because we heard scratch noises outside our room and thought they were going to break in. Also the Wifi and TV was bad reception. We up and left the hotel and went to stay somewhere else. NEVER AGAIN!

After reading other bad reviews, we went to this "hotel" with open mind. Frankly, we should have hired a van and slept in it instead! We travelled for London sightseeing, three adults and three children, we had booked for two adjoining rooms for two nights - five months earlier. Greeted with " we where not aware that you where coming until yesterday, you can only stay tonight". It sounded like we where going to have to go elsewhere. We spent nearly an hour discussing the 'mix up' with the staff and then suddenly the hotel agreed to let us stay the two nights in one large family room. This only happened after we got onto our agent & asked them to find us an alternative! Good points;- Beds looked clean & where comfortable, The room carpet was clean. Bad points;- No way of locking the room door, No way of turning off the heat, it was like a hot house - staff unable/unwilling to help! No lock on the ensuit toilet/shower room, The toilet/shower room walls where covered in a nasty black mould. Shower head holder broken, - none of us even considered having a shower. Other rooms where occupied, but not by tourist types, - the 'residents' would look at you with glazed eyes; if you catch my drift, Upstairs toilet had no running water,no soap,no towels & had gaps in the window where the wind whistled in! Breakfast;- told at checkin that breakfast was from 8am. Both mornings the kitchen was locked and no sign of any staff on the premises. Had to buy our breakfast elsewhere; for six people that proved rather costly. To be honest, we would not have felt okay taking breakfast in this place anyway. Checkout;- no staff to be seen, we left our key in the room and just left.

Misleading information on booking tge hotel regards breakfast. On the website it does state that there is breakfast , on arrival I was informed opposite.
