Amazing hotel for afternoon tea. Had an old friend from the USA come to visit and we started at Parliament Square, walked through St James Park to Buckingham Palace and then to the Goring Hotel for afternoon tea. It was her first time in London and was an absolute treat. The sandwiches were all very tasty, balanced, and unique. The scones and cakes were lovely. A great selection of tea, and tea service. Many places leave you to pour your own tea and that is not the case here. They came by to pour our tea without interrupting our visit. I cannot wait until my next visit.

It was really nice, right when we walked in the restaurant the Hostess Sofia was so sweet and she definitely deserves a raise. Overall the service and food were wonderful would definitely recommend and meet Sofia if you want top service.

What can I say...we had our wedding at the Goring 3 weeks ago. Absolutely outstanding in every way. Staff amazing, rooms fantastic, service incredible, decor perfect, food delicious. For my money best hotel in London. First, location. Right near Buckingham Palace. We walked to Piccadilly, the theaters, Kensington Palace, and the St. James area (Lovely Jermyn Street!!) With no problem. Victoria Station right around the corner.
Second, the physical plant. Absolutely lovely in every way.
Third, the staff. Simply the best, most helpful, charming staff I have encountered.
Fourth, the food. The Michelin rated restaurant soars!!
Don't hesitate. You will absolutely love it.

Overrated for Sure: go to the Cs: Corinthia, Connaught or Claridges

F&B The Big 3s:

Food: great (though cold) in-house made mince pies; lovely vegetarian and traditional sandwiches

Service: started strong and weakened as servers disappeared; started with not pouring our own tea and by the end I finished asking for tap water; nobody offered refilling teapots with hot water or any extra pastries; strange that the scones come with the sweets as a single course; added touch of in-house made mulled red warm wine; Braida was the best for the first half, but then she must have disappeared to a break as we never saw her again; staff seemed very tired by our 1530 appointment of explaining the way the service works here, and I said "I'm not sure how you're going to enjoy getting through the holiday making memories for guests if you're already over the tea scene"

Ambience: light background music did not match the holiday feel and was very upbeat for a romantic afternoon tea room with twinkle lights and holiday spirit; while the hotel boasts Christmas, this room Veranda held nothing of the holiday but the plastic fern in plastic pot on each table

We had a wonderful time staying at The Goring, the room was amazing. My wife loved the freshly cut flowers, thank you. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. Your Christmas 🎄 decorations are always fabulous. The breakfast is some of the best we ever had staying in a hotel, the tea selection is amazing. Thanks The Goring, we will be back soon again.

The waiter was incredibly rude. Do not believe the opening times, wanted to go there for a late lunch. It wasn't open. We managed to get there for dinner only to be disappointed by the off putting behaviour of the waiter!!!!! Spend your money somewhere else, London has a wide variety of quality Indian restaurants.

Very good Indian food in the area. Place a bit small but they have basement for big groups. Worth giving a try. Please take note of their hours of operation which is limited to lunch and dinner. Staff very helpful

Very rude staff. Had literally sat down to have some lovely dinner after a long journey. I had a bottle of coke with me and was just about to take a sip as I was quite thirsty before starting to look into the menu. The staff in a very rude voice just “told me off” for consuming drink purchased from outside. I was just gobsmacked with his attitude and rudeness. So me and my friend just got up and left within 2 minutes. So never again and avoid if/where possible. We found another Indian restaurant just down the road walking towards Pimlico and had an amazing meal.

Mango tree has been a regular option for special events such as birthdays and anniversaries for me and the family. We visit possibly 4 times a year and have never once left feeling dissatisfied.
On our last visit, ordered a steak, expecting it to be leaner than it was. Likely this was my mistake for realising wagyu is not lean.
The staff were very friendly and apologetic, even though it was my fault, refunded the dish and suggested the alternative Thai green curry with chicken which had the most succulent chicken I've had.
They made no fuss about this and this, among the amazing dishes is one of the reasons we continue to visit.

Wow! Great food, service and ambience. Not overpriced. Went with former colleagues one Monday lunchtime. Even at this time of the day/week, there was a decent atmosphere. Will definitely eat here again.

Good food, as was the service too.
Didn't like the fact there was a massive birthday party right behind us and they were loud as anything!
Also the route to the toilet there alot of clutter everywhere, I didn't expect a very up market place to leave storage and just excess stuff lying around on the side

Good food and nice, warm and cosy interior. The chocolate sphere dessert they serve is just bomb. The main wasn't as great as I would expect. Even though they score high with their caring and good mannered staff which will be with you always when you need it but still staying not pushy at all. Good place for a date ;)
