The Inn at Venice Beach, Los Angeles1 / 26
7.8
Los Angeles, 327 Washington Blvd (21 km from centre) 🧭 Map
We stayed at a room facing the main road. Too noisy as the hotel is a bit older and windows as well. We heard every passing car, all night long. Minimal hotel with minimal service. Location was good. Few mins. walk from the beach. Also a bit much money for what you get…
The desk clerk was friendly and efficient. We liked the room a lot, and the hotel’s location was perfect for walking around the town.
Amazing location. Amazing service. The room was large, clean, and styled very well. The common areas were also beautifully decorated. The service was second to none, with staff going above and beyond to accommodate our family anyway they could. I would 100% recommend and stay here anytime we're visiting from Australia.
The staff was courteous and willing to accommodate requests. They even offered to switch our room since the Wi-Fi was weak or not working from within our room. The person at the front desk had no issue when we wanted to leave our car in the hotel parking for a little longer after our checkout while we went to have lunch. He even waived our parking fee as a courtesy since our experience with the Wi...

Very pleasant neighborhood. Several bus stops nearby. Supermarkets and small restaurants are a 5-minute walk away. The only downside is the breakfast room, which is very small and the breakfast very basic, but apparently it's typically American.
The parking space at the entrance is very narrow. The female receptionist provided good service. The room facilities are just average. Housekeeping was very prompt.
I arrived from the airport around 11am and tried to leave my luggage there until check-in, but they said my room was ready so I was able to check in right away. I was very grateful for this. Within walking distance of the hotel are supermarkets such as Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, Target, CVS, and Ralphs, as well as many cafes and restaurants, and the Armand Hammer Museum. The area is also very safe...
Room was not ready 30 mins after check in time Very poor wifi connection A/C located poorly on the floor, takes a while to cool down the room
The location is excellent, 15 minutes walk to UCLA, the surrounding environment is beautiful, the accommodation is quiet and comfortable, the only drawback is that the room is small and the breakfast is simple. If you visit UCLA, this is a very good place to stay, and I will stay there next time.
Business hotel with a small balcony. The facilities are a bit old, but the surrounding environment is good, safe and convenient.

Good stay clean and convenient , will recommend it for family trips, grocery stores and restaurants nearby with decent choices and prices
Advantages: 1. Relatively convenient as it's not too far from Universal Studios by car. 2. Free parking is available at the hotel entrance until 9 AM if you arrive late at night, and across the street until 10 AM. Disadvantages: 1. Poor sound insulation; you can clearly hear people walking upstairs. 2. Parking inside the hotel is paid; it costs approximately $20-30 USD for a small car.
I was very pleased with the hotel's amenities. There were no unpleasant odors. It felt very clean and tidy. Free hot chocolate and coffee were available at the front desk. Parking was free at the entrance, and we left at 9:00 AM. The only difference was that the location near the highway made it a bit noisy at night.
Always a nice stay!  Very nice people and rooms! We will be back!
Very clean , smile staff , good service and help . Free coffee at ground floor.

The quality is consistently good, the rooms are nice and comfortable, and the view is fantastic, but they've outsourced the valet service to a private company, and the daily fee of 78 USD is excessive. If you don't use the valet service, they won't let you into the hotel's car park either; they tell you to go to the public car park by the beach, which is unacceptable.
Great check in experience - my Ambassador status with Marriott was not only recognized but benefits were offered as well. Friendly staff. Good location walking distance to Venice Beach.
I was given a room for a person who isdisabled. The bed was close to the floor, horrible room. It was obvious that I was not disabled. I tried to call down to get the room changed and the went straight to an 800 number. Finally, got the valet staff to call the ftont desk. Never answeed the phone. Had to drag my luggage downstairs to get a room change. No apologies were issued. Staff is lazy...
Beautiful location, free canoe renting options, free 3 hour bike renting option, on site Hertz rental presence. Very customer focused and friendly staff. Bedsides had USB-C charging ports. Marriott club on location.
I stayed here in November 2025. I wasn't very impressed with the room overall because I felt that the room was a bit dirty. I wiped surfaces down and found that there was a lot of dust, dirt, and grime on handles, the remote, etc. I will say that the hotel is clearly freshly rennovated, which is nice, but there's a strong odor in the halls that doesn't do it justice. The staff was ok - typical for...
Not exactly a beach—it’s a marina. Room service ok but there should be more food options—it feels meager for a large chain hotel, and it should be 24 hours! Staff friendly. Excellent housekeeping service and staff.

free parking, and ice provided, there is heater, window. the curtain is special.
Check in was fine. Room was fine & clean, except full length mirror looked like hadn't been cleaned in a very long time. I would have liked a fridge. Picture on TV wasn't great.
Hygiene: OK Environment: A little quiet Service: The counter staff is friendly and has a good attitude. Facilities: Acceptable
Average hygiene, average service, low cost performance, free parking
Breakfast was fine. Pancakes you cook in a toaster, bagels and cream cheese, bread to toast with jelly, cold and hot cereals, apples, juice and coffee. Staff are great! Very helpful and knowledgeable about the surrounding area. Three floors with elevator and plenty of stairs for exercise. No pool. There are some nice sitting areas outside. I feel safe with the parking and being outside.
The hotel was quite nice and peaceful with a really nice view especially for those who really enjoy a city aesthetic. Breakfast was nice. The only thing I do have to complain about is the sheets and the walls. I don't know if this was just our room or like the rest, but the sheets and walls were dirty, and the sheets were ripped. I do understand the ripping and (I guess?) The stains because sheets...

Clean hotel, courteous staff, easy parking, the only downside, I was looking forward to visiting the rooftop, but it was closed.
Location was convenient for our stay - plenty of good food within walking distance, staff was very accommodating (early check in, extra towels), facility offers a nice option above chain hotels nearby, without the pricing of luxury hotels. Room was clean, quiet, and just what we needed. It does look like the outside deck area upstairs is under construction, and we didn’t visit what appeared to...
Staff was not friendly at all. I knew the rooftop was not going to be open but the restaurant was also not opened. We just got 1 bottle of wine for the time we were there. Room was cleaned and efficient. The hotel is in a not so good part of LA. For the price we paid it was not worth it.
Nice, clean hotel! My room didn’t have any hidden passages! Reception was cool, calm and collected. I could hear everyone moaning at night and the cars in the road but other than that as a solo female traveller this was a good option!
The shower water did not get hot enough as well as the bar that we assumed was open due to the pictures was not in operation which they said nothing about.
Nice place - good location - between sunset ***** and Hollywood blvd - if you don’t mind walking a bit . Close to Runyon Canyon - great hike up with view of Hollywood hills and sign

Small and quaint hotel, clean and comfortably appointed, essentials, soaps, creams, coffee, tea, linens, all in room. Actual staffed lobby, easy valet parking, nice walkable location. Only negative bathroom “door” is a bifold, not very private, right next to bed. If traveling as three or 4, there is a sitting room with sofabed- but that bathroom “door” is an issue. Very polite staff/valet.
Room was great. Housekeeping service would’ve been nice maybe once while i stayed.
Good area to explore LA. Staff were great ( shout out to Gwynn for the ice ) I think it would benefit from some attention from corporate office - needs some basic maintenance and upkeep ( walls dinged up , scuffs and upkeep ) But overall a great location with good acess to public transportation . It would be nice if there were some partnership with the restaurant inside the building …
The staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, the rooms were spotless, and the atmosphere was relaxing from the moment I checked in. The location was convenient for exploring the area, and the amenities made the stay even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting
This is a quaint little hotel. The staff were extremely friendly. It is very clean. The roof top terrace was peaceful and quiet even knowing there was a lot of traffic traveling by the hotel. I loved the valet. One in particular was extremely accommodating. I will definitely stay here again.
The code system for entering the building as well as my room malfunctioned repeatedly. There was no cleaning of the room, ie garbage removal, towel replacement, even though I stayed for five nights. I was informed at check-in that such service incurred an additional fee. I paid $225.00/a night for a room and facility that looked more like it should cost $150.00/night. The housekeeping staff congregated...

The hotel location is very good. There is a really nice Thai restaurant across the street. There are many Cafes in vicinity. Although the hotel is on a busy street, I got a very quite room. There is an elevator that is important to me...
This place was great for the price.  I was pleasantly surprised with how cute the hotel was and the amenities they offered.  Clean safe rooms, great location.  Super nice staff. I will stay here again!
Lighting needs improvement - only 1 ceiling light worked- no hallway light and no TV instructions in room. They give complimentary beer and wine from 5:30 to 7:30 pm but won’t give non drinkers a complimentary Diet Coke or bottled water!
L while it was quiet, it was also loud at the same time with the cleaning crew outside. When I called the Support staff was a little less than courteous. Other than that. It was a good day.
Great location!!! Close to Beverly Hills, close to major museums, close to great & diverse restaurants. Check-in was awkward. Clerk announced - 45 min after check-in time the room was not ready. Not what you want to hear. Then he said it was probably ready and would I mind going to the room to check which I did - a first for me. Have stayed many times at the Inn over the years, but it has changed! Rooms are okay but could not get the heat to regulate correctly so we were either cold or hot the entire stay. Always liked the leftovers with coffee in the afternoon. Wine and cheese...
I came for one night and stayed for two. The property is amazingly welcoming, beautiful and the staff are so accomodating. Home made cookies at the front desk, breakfast made to order, wine and cheese social - these are just some of the small cozy touches that make the Inn at Playa del Rey an amazing place to stay. And the staff including Ken and Sean are so welcoming. I will definately stay here...
Staff was outstanding, kind, friendly, helpful. Breakfast with wonderful choices including cooked to order eggs, something for everyone! Rooms were clean and enviting, comfortable. There are many amenities and great location!
I loved everything about The Inn at Playa del Rey. The room was great. The water pressure for the shower was excellent! Something I value when I stay anywhere. The bathroom was bigger than expected. Had 2 sinks. Even the view to the street was cool. It faced the streets but also the mountains and you could see way far. Breakfast was excellent every morning. Absolutely loved the arugula parm salad....
The view is of the wetlands , it's beautiful . The breakfast was lovely , very healthy and tasty . the staff were all really great .
Afternoon happy hour with wine and cheese. Wonderful breakfast. Very comfortable bed! We absolutely LOVED our stay here. We felt like family. The staff was INCREDIBLE! 10/10! We will definitely stay here again next time we visit the LA area!!

Mixed feelers on this one. They use chemical scent to mask odors. Both were bad. The rooms were pretty clean but the interior furniture was so old it all had a disgusting film on it. It was an amazing quiet, private, secluded place that was very much enjoyable!
The Charlie Hotel was magical, the Sasha Suite we stayed in was a one bedroom with beautiful historic charm throughout. The suite was spotless and had all the amenities, full kitchen, small living room with its own TV, super comfortable bed and linens. Love the private secure onsite self parking, so much better than hotels with valet. Price was reasonable, service was great so pleasant and professional...
The Charlie Hotel was a welcoming, well appointed and well run hotel in a great location to visit LA.
The Charlie has it all, luxurious suites befitting of hollywood royalty, like its namesake, personable and professional estate caretakers and administrators. To be sure, the expertly provisioned attention to finer details like fresh roses and “hard to get” reservations, from proficient, and well connected hands.
Pros: Room was spotless and the grounds were beautiful. This place allows you to live like a local and not a tourist. With that, cons: The building was old and I could hear a lot of noise from the room below.

Price was reasonable. Right off the beach. Cute clean room. Peaceful. Placed to walk and eat. We will be back.
The place is right in the beach, staff were helpful and lovely. Excellent location.
The view here was SPECTACULAR: you honestly couldn't get closer to the beach if you tried. I booked a first floor room with the ocean view and it was worthy of the great pictures I sent to make colleagues jealous. BUT, the room was very small, the TV was a nightmare to work, the wifi failed more than succeeded, and the shower was the size of a cat litter box. I can't say I'll ever go again, due to...

The air conditioner in the room is very loud and a bit noisy. The hotel only has 24-hour cancellation, which is not flexible. But the view outside the room is very good. It is a 10-minute walk to Santa Monica Beach
This is the kind of accommodation you get for this price!!! I'll definitely be back here next time I'm in LA.
Situated not far from the beach. Room with a view of the terrace - this means with a view of the road and cars. Not a cozy hotel, the rooms are somehow uncomfortable, the refrigerator is next to the toilet, everything is shabby, breakfast - coffee and porridge! Didn't like anything in this hotel. Each room has its own unique design and style here, and the hotel is dog-friendly too! 🐶 There’s a fantastic restaurant located downstairs, and a phenomenal rooftop lounge/deck bar where you can enjoy a bite to eat while kicking back on a comfy day bed or sitting at the bar and viewing up at the Hollywood Hills!
Had an amazing time at Mama’s Shelter rooftop, my review is for drinks and dancing! The music was on point, great DJ, definitely fun vibes, and the drinks were really well-made. It does get pretty crowded on weekends, so service can feel a bit overwhelmed, but the atmosphere, decor, and views are great!! Can’t wait to come back and try their food next time!
Rooftop views, trendy vibes, and cocktails that scream Hollywood. The rooms are quirky and fun, though a bit tight for the price. Service is solid, but the rooftop crowds can feel like a casting call. Still, it’s a great spot for Insta-worthy moments!
Great hotel. Kind of on the cut, easy to pass it. Valet was kind. No complaints. Staff was pretty nice. Security kept confusing my friend and I for roof goers for all the days we were there. Cleaning staff was also nice. Bar lady downstairs was nice as well.
I was in town for a concert and stayed 3 nights at Mama's. From the write-ups and piecing together the different reviews it's difficult to wrap your brain around what you'll actually experience. The hotel had a nice view! Clean, smelled fresh , staff responds very rapidly. Only issue was limited parking spots. The shower has good water pressure. Soaps smell nice and have a matching lotion to them. The yamashiro restaurant was nice as well and conveniently next to it
Very nice room, amazing view. No elevators and a lot of stairs. Don’t bring rolling suitcases or a lot of luggage, if you can avoid it. Also, there are no food options at the hotel outside of the restaurant that does not have reservations until late night. Due to it being so out the way from most outside restaurants and the surrounding traffic, we used DoorDash and Lyft a lot.
The room was superb and the view was amazing, everything was excellent from the area all the way to service.
Everything was great. My day was wonderful and the online service was very quick to respond to any of my needs.

I was unable to contact the front desk using the phone in my room, and there was no guidance or explanation at all about which number to use to contact the desk at the time of hotel check-in or in my room, which was disappointing.
Oxford is a bit old and you can tell it needs a remodel. However it wasn’t terrible. The rooms were clean and neat. Location exactly as described. Clean, friendly and the hot tub is perfect! Parking was easy and accommodations just what is needed! Great location close to beach and food.
If you add the $38 for the parking this is a bit too pricey for what it is. Would stay again but not at the rates they are asking. It's very basic setting with quirky murals to make it look hip. It's ok but not the best place I ever stayed at.
Good place to stay, excellent location, good staff, clean room, however the parking lot I think it’s a bit overpriced at $38 per night.
Artsy room. Great for social media people. Great size. Got it on a perfectly reasonable deal. Excellent location. If you get too close to the beach, you'll be stuck in traffic. This hotel is just outside of all that. But close enough to walk or use alternate transportation. Staff are kind and quick. Very mindful. A 1 year old can easily open the doors in the rooms. A hotel that needs no introduction. This was our first stay at CM and will absolutely not be the last. So many things about this place feel special. This hotel is not for people who book "by the numbers". This is will never win an award for "best hotel" here on Tripadvisor. It's about a feeling and sense of place. The service is impeccable. Was there for an event, it's a hotel in K-town so it's marketed more towards Koreans. The valet service was great, cost for valet was reasonable. The restaurants upstairs were great, food was tasty and service is great. They have 2 rooms for private parties and can be setup for presentations. Overall it was a great experience at this hotel.
Unless you like Korean food there is not much to do in the area but I guess that's an issue for me to bring up with my travel agent. The hotel itself a bit dated. Small things make a big difference. It's a double room but they only give you one creamer for the coffee. One big towel for the bathroom etc. Not all is bad however. The staff were friendly. I got a good night sleep here on a last minute booking. The staff was friendly and check-in was very easy. It was very quiet for being in downtown Los Angeles. My room seemed a little dated and that's the only reason for no 5 stars. The room I had was extremely clean and overall good.
