San Diego, 950 Hotel Cir N (5 km from centre) 🧭 Map
Found this hotel a couple years back when an event I attended was scheduled there, and have stayed there a handful of times since then. You really can't beat the room price, nothing fancy but clean and quiet with a pleasant atmosphere. Nice for a staycation. The only negative is that they started charging $24 per night for parking, which seems like lot.
Great rooms bed was comfy room service kept the room nice when we are away. The pool was amazing family enjoyed the hot tub
I tried canceling my room because my daughter's plan changed. She was going into bootcamp and having a hard time. I understand their cancellation policy I just thought they would take into consideration the reason as to why I had to cancel. If not a full refund maybe a partial.
The tv reception was fuzzy at best. The pool bartenders were excellent!
The hotel initially gave us a room on the first floor that was too noisy. We booked a 3-person room with an extra single bed, but the next day they gave us a quiet room with 2 large beds on the 3rd floor.
Bed and room were great. did not use the pool. I did not like the covered large pillow on the bed as it looked unsanitary. Pillows with removeable covers would have been better.

Room is nice but too small. Great rooftop. 13 dollars for a bottle of water and 60 dollars for the parking are really too expensive.
Great location and clean property. However, housekeeping required multiple reminders and service was minimal—bed was made but sheets were never changed during my 5-night stay, and the robe was not replaced. The minibar fridge was fully stocked with hotel items, leaving no room for personal use. Storage for luggage was limited. The retro elevator adds charm, but the heavy manual door and gate make it...
During my trip to San Diego, I booked a hotel in San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter (established in 1913) on Ctrip. The old elevator is quite unique. The rooms aren't big, but the cleanliness and amenities are okay, and it's not noisy. We stayed on the 11th floor, the highest floor, and the rooftop terrace offers a great view of the city!
The transportation in the downtown area is quite convenient. The train is a few minutes' walk away. The hotel's old-fashioned elevator is antique-grade. The refrigerator is full and there is no room for anything.
This hotel has a unique elevator. It's historic, but the doors are too heavy. The speed is unavoidable. There's no kettle in the room, so it's difficult to get hot water. The convention center is about a 15-minute walk away.
The interior was so cute and exciting. The amenities were Diptique and perfect. The rooftop view overlooks downtown. A free welcome drink is included. You can order at the restaurant next door. The only thing that was a bit disappointing was that when I tried to use the conditioner, the tube inside was bent and I couldn't push it, even though it was a pump type. Also, there were only two outlets (in...

Loved the 24/7 amenities of hot water and regular water, and staff were always available, friendly, and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and there were plenty of options. A great stay!
The room was excellent, the bed comfy and amenities were very nice. Breakfast had many options including 3 waffle makers with two flavors of batter. The staff overlooking the breakfast area were very helpful and worked hard to keep everything stocked and clean. My one negative is having to pay to park at a hotel you’re already paying to stay at. It’s ridiculous to add an additional fee on to stay...
Well, everything was fine, clean, spacious, and the breakfast wasn't bad. And the hotel has everything you need.
It was very coean, staff was super friendly.
Good environment and high cost performance.
Breakfast was simple but clean, and the cleanliness was worthy of a 3-star rating. Other amenities are limited, but it seems like a suitable place for overnight stays.

Hotel was very nice but way overpriced. Parking was a nightmare in the tight neighborhood, but valet was good.
Loved the pool. We had a problem with our room which required us to switch. That was frustrating because it seems the staff knew that room was a problem. Otherwise we love the hotel, location and pool area. Staff is great.
A wonderful hotel. Love the history. Staff were great, food was delicious. However, the pool plaster is worn and the water line tile is missing. The shower in the room had mold.
The property is nearly 100 yrs old. So”as new” isn’t expected. But the room was very tired, and dinged up, AC worked poorly and there was a definite mildew smell. The above ground floors 7+ are better. We had stayed here about 10 years ago. The location is very convenient to La Jolla; the staff was helpful with occasional shuttle transportation and the Concierge was wonderful to work with. The...

location is ok but quite a long walk and hilly. Room is large and clean. The basin in not in the toilet but outside near the bed area. Breakfast is good. Overall is good for me. Thanks
Nice room with a small balcony. Breakfast included. The hotel is in a good location.
It is really near the Downtown Portland Nordstrom . It is a great hotel. If you are a business traveler to shop at the Anniversary Sale. You don't have to travel to Seattle. But the Portland Downtown Nordstrom store is a 5. But the Fashion Valley is a 11-11. This is on a ten point scale. 1 is the worst. A perfect 10 is good for the next three years only . TFT.
The place is very convenient. Near many good places to dine. Very secured.
Had a pleasant stay. Staff was also nice and welcoming. Recommended.
The location is good and easy to find, but the parking is a bit inconvenient. Overall, it offers good value for money.

Overall, the hotel experience was good, though the location isn't ideal, making dining and transportation a bit inconvenient. The room was clean and tidy, and the soundproofing was decent, ensuring a good night's sleep. The front desk service was professional and efficient. For its category, it offers good value for money, making it suitable for business or short trips.
Very nice clean hotel on Hotel Circle so close to everything. The only issue was they don't tell you until you get there that there's a $25 per night per car parking charge. And if you tell then you're an IHG member they will drop to $10. But only if you ask. Other than that, the beds were comfortable and make sure you ask for housekeeping as it isn't guaranteed unless you do.
It's very close to the airport, and it's only about a ten-minute drive to the old town and downtown, so it's quite convenient.
It's great value for money, and it's conveniently located near the old town.
The hotel environment was very nice and quite clean.
The location is great, less than a ten-minute drive from SeaWorld. The facilities are a bit dated but clean. There's no drinking water in the room, so be sure to bring some.

Affordable price. Conveniently located. Clean hotel lobby, restaurant, amenities and room. Elegant and cheery decor. Very friendly staff at the hotel and the restaurant. Exceptional food!!
Great location, walking distance to the beach and an adorable street with lots of places to eat/shop. The staff was fantastic and Eddie at the top floor restaurant made us feel so welcome!
The property and rooms are clean and well kept. All the staff were friendly and welcoming. The beds are very comfortable! The restaurant is beautiful and convenient.
This is a great hotel with an amazing ocean view. We love the restaurant at top floor. This is the second time we stayed at this hotel this year.
Was okay. Take an old hotel and do some remodeling. Then try to label it as cool. Not really a success here. Still feels old. Rooms a little dirty / dusty. Never got cool. The thermostat just for show. Did not know the hallways are open to the outside. Like an apartment. Elevators are SLOW. Unless you are on an upper floor, the views are obstructed.
The service was very good. I felt that the bath towels were not particularly clean, but everything else was good. Breakfast was ordered on the top floor. The view was great and it was delicious. The balcony was very nice to see the sea view, although it was very windy hahahaha

The location of the hotel is great! Our family of four was scheduled to go to the Petco Park to see a baseball game. The hotel is absolutely in a walking distance from the ball park. We could enjoy the game very much as we didn't worry about taking long time to come back to the hotel room. The hotel is a historic landmark in the area. By staying here, you could feel the history of the Gaslamp Quarter...
If I will have next chance to come here,I will also choose this hotel
I stayed in The Horton Grand for six nights from 8/16 till 8/22 in 2024. Unbelievably, my room (#321) did not have a refrigerator, although two staff members at the front desk (reception) claimed that every room had one. I remember several years ago before the pandemic my room did have a microwave oven and a refrigerator when I stayed in the same hotel.
It is a great hotel with rich heritage, highly recommended
It was a building and room that exuded history. The room was spacious and charming with its bed, furniture, and balcony. The bath, air conditioning, and TV were comfortable. However, the surrounding area required a bit of caution.
Great location in the Gaslamp District. The hotel is charming as a renovation from the past, especially the balconies overlooking the courtyard and the wooden staircase up to the rooms. The room itself was adequate. Plastic drinking cups felt really low-end and the mattress wasn't as firm as I would have hoped for. The location is excellent. The 9-10 restaurants on the ground floor offer very good food and service quality. The hotel is 115 years old. The price-performance ratio is reasonable. It was a pleasant stay. I recommend it.
The hotel is beautiful inside and out. Room was large and very well maintained. Without exception staff was extremely friendly and polite. Valet parking was very friendly and handled expeditiously. Will definitely stay at the Hotel again when we return to La Jolla.
The room was large and had beautiful views of the ocean. The room was very clean. The staff was friendly from the bell staff to the front desk. The restaurant and bar were excellent.
Valet parking was easy; rooms were beautiful and spacious. Staff was very helpful and shuttled us to local restaurant.

The workers were very friendly and the hotel had a very rustic feel to it. The old styled elevators, the room layout... But be warned: the elevators are a hassle to open the door and gate so you can't have your hands occupied to function them. The room I was in happened to be pretty small with no microwave and no mini fridge but other rooms may vary. The rooftop is accessible and a great hangout spot...
Perfect location to all things downtown. Super close to the airport. It's a old, like 100 odd years old hotel but maintained decently. Good for short stays and proximity to city center. 24 hour restaurant is a great add on.
If anyone is looking for great deals on hotels go to HotelRaven. com Booked a room on there and they had the best rates around... I love this hotel! It was our crew hotel for the airline I worked for. It's old, Art Deco (I believe it was originally the St. Jerome?) but very quaint. A nice rooftop deck, in the middle of the Gaslamp District so restaurants and clubs within easy walking distance.

Great price /location. Older hotel, not much more than that. Great staff, very helpful and friendly. Nice rooftop area. The connected restaurant is the best. Not the nicest place you'll ever stay @ but for the $ its the best value in the gaslamp district
Very charming boutique hotel. The rooms are on the small side, but I don't spend much time in my hotel awake when I'm traveling. There is a great 24-hour American style restaurant attached. They offer 24-hour room service and valet parking for a fee. And you have to ride the elevator. It's original to the building, dating from the 1910's, and still works!

Very poor cleaning, the room is frankly dirty. Dirty carpet. The hair dryer in the room did not work - they brought a replacement from another room, but when I took the hair dryer out of the bag, it was all dirty with other people's hair and very dirty. I am not a freak about cleanliness, but for the first time in traveling I wanted to change the location. The bed is not made, towels are changed only...
It is close to the conference venue and the facilities are OK, similar to a family hotel. The relevant facilities are also relatively complete and breakfast is provided. Overall it is good.
Good location, wonderful, friendly and helpful staff. I enjoyed my time at the best western, and the pool and hot tub was well maintained! Unfortunately the rooms are thin, so you can hear your neighbors and any noise in the hallway very clearly, along with whatever is happening outside. There is also no fan in the bathroom, and no circulation, which leaves towels wet for days.

Great staff The hotel is near. The harbor. Location is good has a rustic feel however, when I asked the staff for a water kettle twice, they did not deliver us or lend us a water kettle to boil water.

A very nice hotel, very close to UCSD, suitable for couples to book a room, but the lights are too dim, and parking is also charged and a deposit is required by credit card. You must have a car to stay here. The room is very quiet but the environment is not very good, the facilities are relatively old, even worse than a new three-star hotel.

[Pros] It's close to many of San Diego's major tourist attractions. It's also close to train stations (trolley and Amtrak) and bus stops, so transportation is easy. A supermarket (Ralphs) is also within a 5-minute walk, and since it's cheaper than other options, I recommend buying water and other items there. Convenient location. I arrived before 4pm, but they allowed me to check in without any hassle. The staff were very friendly. Valet parking was available for $42 a day.
Stayed at the Bristol while in San Diego for a concert at The Music Box. Staff was attentative and friendly. The room was comfortable and clean.
