The location of the hotel is great! Our family of four was scheduled to go to the Petco Park to see a baseball game. The hotel is absolutely in a walking distance from the ball park. We could enjoy the game very much as we didn't worry about taking long time to come back to the hotel room. The hotel is a historic landmark in the area. By staying here, you could feel the history of the Gaslamp Quarter...
A very beautiful hotel, it looks like it has a long history.
If I will have next chance to come here,I will also choose this hotel
I stayed in The Horton Grand for six nights from 8/16 till 8/22 in 2024. Unbelievably, my room (#321) did not have a refrigerator, although two staff members at the front desk (reception) claimed that every room had one. I remember several years ago before the pandemic my room did have a microwave oven and a refrigerator when I stayed in the same hotel.
It is a great hotel with rich heritage, highly recommended
Great location in the Gaslamp District. The hotel is charming as a renovation from the past, especially the balconies overlooking the courtyard and the wooden staircase up to the rooms. The room itself was adequate. Plastic drinking cups felt really low-end and the mattress wasn't as firm as I would have hoped for. But the price was better than others places in that area and the staff was very...

Super clean, safe, awesome pool, polite staff and very convenient to local restaurants. Parking was easy too
All very well kept and clean. Front desk felt kind of rushed, though. Also, loud, inconsiderate neighbors that we knew no one would do anything about in So Cal.
The room was clean and updated. My wife and daughter both said it was cute so guess that is good. The parking is the best. Beds and pillows were comfortable. Area was quiet and safe. The shower was very nice. There was a refrigerator in the room but not a microwave. Would definitely stay again!
I’d definitely stay here again. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was immaculately clean and obviously updated. Enjoyed our stay
Quite area close to shops. Walkable to bird rock ( vwry close) and windnsea (1.4 miles)
Room was clean and comfy
No free breakfast, but they did have free coffee.
I love the added little touches that were an "upgrade" for the room such as a standing desk and light that gives you the temperature of the room. Very clean, especially the pool which I find can be a hit or miss at a hotel. Staff was very friendly and able to answer any questions that I had about the stay. As someone who needed to be displaced from my home due to flooding and mold exposure, this was...

The workers were very friendly and the hotel had a very rustic feel to it. The old styled elevators, the room layout... But be warned: the elevators are a hassle to open the door and gate so you can't have your hands occupied to function them. The room I was in happened to be pretty small with no microwave and no mini fridge but other rooms may vary. The rooftop is accessible and a great hangout spot...
Perfect location to all things downtown. Super close to the airport. It's a old, like 100 odd years old hotel but maintained decently. Good for short stays and proximity to city center. 24 hour restaurant is a great add on.
If anyone is looking for great deals on hotels go to HotelRaven. com Booked a room on there and they had the best rates around...
I love this hotel! It was our crew hotel for the airline I worked for. It's old, Art Deco (I believe it was originally the St. Jerome?) but very quaint. A nice rooftop deck, in the middle of the Gaslamp District so restaurants and clubs within easy walking distance.

Great price /location. Older hotel, not much more than that. Great staff, very helpful and friendly. Nice rooftop area. The connected restaurant is the best.
Not the nicest place you'll ever stay @ but for the $ its the best value in the gaslamp district
Very charming boutique hotel. The rooms are on the small side, but I don't spend much time in my hotel awake when I'm traveling. There is a great 24-hour American style restaurant attached. They offer 24-hour room service and valet parking for a fee. And you have to ride the elevator. It's original to the building, dating from the 1910's, and still works!

Excellent location, good and clean room
Coffee machine was broken. Room cleaning was only on request. No restaurant so no breakfast included. Products for cleaning swimming pool were way too strong because it made foam when swimming and the eyes got red after only 10 minutes inside. Heater of the room worked well but was way too noisy when turning off and on automatically to adjust temperature therefore I had to turn it off and therefore...
Overall, the hotel is good, but not bad. It's close to Little Italy and about a 15-minute walk from the beach. Parking is $30 per night. Breakfast is optional and costs extra at the restaurant next door.
Parking fee, good location, close to the Midway Museum
Very poor cleaning, the room is frankly dirty. Dirty carpet. The hair dryer in the room did not work - they brought a replacement from another room, but when I took the hair dryer out of the bag, it was all dirty with other people's hair and very dirty. I am not a freak about cleanliness, but for the first time in traveling I wanted to change the location. The bed is not made, towels are changed only...
It is close to the conference venue and the facilities are OK, similar to a family hotel. The relevant facilities are also relatively complete and breakfast is provided. Overall it is good.

Room is nice but too small. Great rooftop. 13 dollars for a bottle of water and 60 dollars for the parking are really too expensive.
Great location and clean property. However, housekeeping required multiple reminders and service was minimal—bed was made but sheets were never changed during my 5-night stay, and the robe was not replaced. The minibar fridge was fully stocked with hotel items, leaving no room for personal use. Storage for luggage was limited. The retro elevator adds charm, but the heavy manual door and gate make it...
During my trip to San Diego, I booked a hotel in San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter (established in 1913) on Ctrip. The old elevator is quite unique. The rooms aren't big, but the cleanliness and amenities are okay, and it's not noisy. We stayed on the 11th floor, the highest floor, and the rooftop terrace offers a great view of the city!
The transportation in the downtown area is quite convenient. The train is a few minutes' walk away. The hotel's old-fashioned elevator is antique-grade. The refrigerator is full and there is no room for anything.
This hotel has a unique elevator. It's historic, but the doors are too heavy. The speed is unavoidable.
There's no kettle in the room, so it's difficult to get hot water.
The convention center is about a 15-minute walk away.
The interior was so cute and exciting.
The amenities were Diptique and perfect.
The rooftop view overlooks downtown.
A free welcome drink is included. You can order at the restaurant next door.
The only thing that was a bit disappointing was that when I tried to use the conditioner, the tube inside was bent and I couldn't push it, even though it was a pump type. Also, there were only two outlets (in...

Love the vibe, all the employees are friendly and welcoming.
it a old hotel. But is ok The pool is warm. It’s a good point of the hotel. But the hot tub is small.
Very quite and beautiful! Comfortable room!
My family always stay this hotel and it's awesome place and we used to take dinner at first floor, their foods very good too! We recommend you and your family to stay here!
BEAUTIFUL ROOM! We stayed in the executive suite marina view and it was GORGEOUS! Pool is a little smaller than we're used to but we also pretty much had it to ourselves so the kids didnt mind! The restaurant also has really great chicken alfredo. We'll be back!
I made a promise to myself that if ever I’m in San Diego I’m only staying on Shelter Island. And preferably at the Bay Club. My room was spacious and comfortable in every way. I think every room in the whole place has a great view and mine was no exception. I loved sitting out on my patio. The hot tub overlooking the marina was the perfect end to every day. Book it, you’ll love it. Stayed in a family suite with our 4 year old. The pull out couch in the living area and a door separating the bedroom was a big plus for us. You don’t have a great view of the ocean from the first floor but we were fine with that trade off. You’re steps from the beach and amazing food. The staff was so helpful, we loved that they offered sand toys, beach chairs and towels....
Service was really exceptional. Location was fantastic, and despite being right on the boardwalk and being on the first floor, it was very quiet and you could not hear anything from the room. Super close to Pacific Beach spots for restaurants. Hotel has bikes (including for kids!) that can be used and also has beach chairs and toys for the kids (super easy access to the beach). Highly recommended.
Did a ton of research before choosing this hotel for an 8-night stay. We could not be happier. Ocean view as promised, very friendly helpful staff, location is both gorgeous and convenient with restaurants and bars within easy walking distance. Beds are comfy, room is large, ventilation is effective and quiet. If we ever have a chance to return to SD, I cannot imagine staying anywhere else. The staff...
We wanted to just have a relaxing day at the beach and it was our first time to stay at Pacific terrace hotel. We were greeted with this beautiful, charming girl at the front desk -Jasleen, and I made a mistake on the date of booking , instead of 2026 ,I booked it for 2027. She is very nice about it and helped us to have an ocean view room and let us check in early too! Our room is clean, spacious with...
The Pacific Terrace Hotel is an absolutely perfect place to stay in San Diego. From the moment we walked in every staff member was friendly and welcoming, throughout our entire stay we had some of the best service we’ve had at a hotel! The location couldn’t be any closer to the beach and it was nice that they provided beach chairs, towels and sand toys for our toddler each day. We also loved the patio...
Personally, I feel that it is not worth the price. It is too late to check in at 4 pm. The hotel is very small, the swimming pool and hot spring are very small, and the room is relatively large, otherwise I can't find any advantages 😄

The staff at the super 8 Wyndham were very accommodating and very polite. The young gal went above and beyond to get me into a room even though I was early for my reservation.
Photos look way nicer than it was. The double bed room, one bed was on wheels- not sure why. Plus it's clearly more of a place for transients. Not sure why we were put all the way on the 3rd floor stacked next to them when it was just an overnight stay during the week and clearly not a lot of people staying there. Elevator was broke too. Super sketchy place. Good luck. But nicely located.
good hotel excellent excellent service good location and economical
I’m sorry to say that Super8 Hotel Circle Dan Diego is the worst hotel we stayed in our 10-day trip covering Nevada, Arizona & California. The room was not cleaned diligently, not even by the basic hotel standards. We found hairs left from previous occupants throughout the room, bed, floor, restroom & even on the coil line of hair-blower. What ticked us off the most was the amount of water coming...

We stayed for two nights and arrived late. The room had a noticeable smell, but we were too tired, so we pretty much ignored it. The floor was covered in thick dirt, which made me wonder why. Although the room looked clean overall, the dirt on the floor looked like no one had ever swept or vacuumed it. We wore slippers the whole time. Since we stayed out most of the time, we just ignored it.
Quite clean. Parking is $15 a day, which isn't bad.
The hotel might look a bit old, but the area feels safe and quiet, perfect for a relaxing stay.
Right by the highway, the main draw is its affordable price. We stayed in a poolside room; the hotel has a hot tub, so you can even use it in winter. The room facilities are average but perfectly functional. Parking is convenient, though there's a fee. The front desk staff were very friendly. The hotel's location is decent, making it easy to drive to several attractions.
I was given a room on the ground floor. Because of the rain, there were some small bugs on the walls, but overall it didn't affect my stay. The other facilities were pretty standard.
The location was in Hotel Circle Mission Valley, so right at the center of things and nearby other hotels. The aesthetic of the hotel was very cute. The outside had pretty basic amenities. However, I experienced a pretty bad issue my first day at the hotel. The water was not running. I tell the front desk and they said they the whole building is experiencing no running water because of a pipe burst...

nice location, close to downtown area and good for walking to business areas. good restaurants nearby.
Breakfast needs better coffee. Espresso possibly. Rooms are clean. Staff is kind.
location is ok but quite a long walk and hilly.
Room is large and clean. The basin in not in the toilet but outside near the bed area.
Breakfast is good.
Overall is good for me.
Thanks
Nice room with a small balcony. Breakfast included. The hotel is in a good location.
It is really near the Downtown Portland Nordstrom . It is a great hotel. If you are a business traveler to shop at the Anniversary Sale. You don't have to travel to Seattle. But the Portland Downtown Nordstrom store is a 5. But the Fashion Valley is a 11-11. This is on a ten point scale. 1 is the worst. A perfect 10 is good for the next three years only . TFT.
The place is very convenient. Near many good places to dine.
Very secured.

Everything was great. Excelent location and attention from the staff.
Staff was great BUT Property definitely not what the pictures show. No amenities AT ALL. Be ready to pay 42 dlrs a night in parking, no breakfast options, you even have to pay for water since they dont provide you with any. They don't do room service so good luck with the 2 towels you get and emptying out your own trash cans.
At this point its just a fancier Motel rather than a hotel.
It feels like it's been too long. Parking is $42 per day. No water.
[Pros]
It's close to many of San Diego's major tourist attractions. It's also close to train stations (trolley and Amtrak) and bus stops, so transportation is easy. A supermarket (Ralphs) is also within a 5-minute walk, and since it's cheaper than other options, I recommend buying water and other items there.
The hotel lobby wasn't that great, but the rooms were quite stylish and better than expected...
Great location; right in the middle of everything. Lots of restaurants nearby, as well as the bay. All the staff were very nice and quite pleasant.

What should I say, it's a Hampton Inn with a sort of a modern Decor. There's a nice fire pit out back and the pool which looks really rather nice.

Great stay, very friendly and helpful staff. Wonderful location. Clean room and comfy beds.
Nothing worked - our in-house phone (completely dead), the tv, the coffee maker also had real probs) Staff were friendly and nice and responded every time we had an issue, but it is obvious this place needs some help. All the items in the room were 'cheap' the kleenex was so thin we could see thru it. A hanger fell completely apart. And Resort Fees for this!

A reliable and comfortable option.
The staff in the hotel is friendly and helpful. Easy communication, they brought us the extra towels and blankets per request. Breakfast has varieties, and coffee was good! Great location, walking distance to shops and dining.
Our room was missing the chairs that were supposed to be at the table in the kitchenette. The bathroom needed more hooks for hanging wet towels to dry. There was 5 of us with luggage and when asked for a cart they didn’t have any available to use.
