Very nice stay at Christmas. Great rooms, great staff, great location. The only thing that was missig was that little extra Christmas touch. It would have been nice to be given a few cookies, chocolates or candies to celebrate the holidays.

Service from staff was impeccable. Room was well appointed and clean. In room snacks and drinks were a nice touch. All the gentlemen at the door were fabulous.

The location is excellent. The 9-10 restaurants on the ground floor offer very good food and service quality. The hotel is 115 years old. The price-performance ratio is reasonable. It was a pleasant stay. I recommend it.

The hotel is beautiful inside and out. Room was large and very well maintained. Without exception staff was extremely friendly and polite. Valet parking was very friendly and handled expeditiously. Will definitely stay at the Hotel again when we return to La Jolla.

I stayed for a total 6 nights here. My flight arrived early in the morning and they offered me an early check-in even without requesting earlier. Enjoyed my stay here, the room is big. The breakfast is complimentary and it is tasty.

5 minutes to old town. Plenty of parking lots, but not guaranteed to be available to all hotel guests. Breakfast is limited. Coffee is above average. The overall hotel facilities and room quality is overstated in description and photo. Do not expect too much, even at this price.

Stayed here Friday night, May 15 to go see P!nkat Petco Park. Excellent room excellent location for any event in downtown San Diego more banged for your buck than the Marriott down the street. Trust me when I tell you that breakfast was amazing afternoon tea coffee all day long and have a little cute courtyard. You can get cozy with your wife.

Great location, 10 minutes walk to the convention center. Nice and clean room, a bit small but enough for 1 person. Sink is outside bathroom next to the bed, which might be upsetting for some. I stayed one night here for sightseeing in San Diego and to watch a Padres baseball game. The hotel is in a very convenient location, within walking distance of the stadium and with plenty of restaurants nearby. The room was clean and spacious enough for a solo traveler. Staff were super sweet when I arrived last minute late due to my other accommodations not working out. Check in was smooth and quick. Once entering my room it was perfectly put in place and was able to reset/refresh feeling safe & comfortable. Loved the water in room as well!

We were in town to welcome home our daughter whose in the navy, the hojo was decently priced and in a convenient location for easy travel to the naval base.

Overall the rooms are comfortable and the hotel has a nice aesthetic. Room was clean but some mold was visible in the bathroom because of poor ventilation. Odd building.  Narrow hallways, maze like.  Elevator is tiny.  Room was small and cramped.  Unpleasant combination of elevator, hallways and stairs to get to our room.   Nice simple snack shop in lobby.  Nice pool.  $50 deposit on a card when you check in.  I wanted to hate the place because of the building design but didn’t.

The location felt rather remote, the service was so-so, and the food was average, but it got very crowded during mealtimes. There was no room service, and we waited a long time for towels. The only good thing was that they arranged our check-in in advance.

Parking spaces are atrociously tight and it always run out if you return late at night, decent room located next to sea world so not bad but be cautious with parking if you are driving here.

Unfortunately this property changed owners 3 days before my stay and it looked like the same hotel but the service was not even close to what was expected. There was no snack bar which was listed as an amenity.

Check in went smooth, the parking lot is very small and hard to get my midsize truck in and out, but it was free parking. The room was nice but kind of old. Not updated really. A LOT of traffic trying to maneuver in and out of the drive ways. A bit of traffic noise. But all in all worth a night.

The room has a microwave, which is very useful. Breakfast was average, with eggs and meat, and enough to fill you up. The room was above average in cleanliness, but the soundproofing was poor; you could clearly hear the door across the hall opening and closing.

The front desk worker, Sheila was truly a heavensend. We showed up late but she was professional and helpful. She had an amazing attitude. Inly complaint is the location is extremely secluded, which is peaceful but is difficult to navigate and i was unable to find a walkable path out of the area.

The beds were uncomfortable, the mini fridge didn’t work. But other than that the staff was very nice and very helpful.

Have been staying at Riverleaf for over 3 years now. It is my favorite budget friendly down to earth little hotel close to everything. It is simple but comfortable. Friendly and awesome staff. You can find very good deals online. I noticed that they did some remodeling and guest rooms have fresh paint and fresh appliances. New bedding, brand new towels, new mini fridge. Everything was great. Besides the extreme noises from next door rooms. The banging on walls was extremely hard. We had to call help desk to let them know. Besides that issue the place was great. Location has many great restaurants, gas stations, near and freeway access. Thank you.

Room was under whelming, strong smell of cleaning products. Room was only cleaned every other day even though room service was requested. Still a decent stay for the price. Not the best part of town and also the last few days were terrible due to very very noisy second floor renters.

We encountered an issue at check in... we were assigned a room that had not yet veen cleaned from the previous guest. They did assign a new one, but it was smaller. Overal our stay was ok, however, we thought the rate we were given was all we hadbto pay. We were surprised with a deposit we were not counting on, and were told a refund of said deposit would take several days after our check out.
