Where to stay in Honolulu

They offered free towel rentals, which we used a lot! Mahalo! The bed was also big and comfortable. Having two key cards was very convenient.

I stayed for five days and four nights, and the air conditioning was incredibly loud at night, like a bomber, making it impossible to get a good night's sleep. Also, if you want them to clean your room, it costs $25 USD each time. I'd advise anyone who is sensitive to noise at night to avoid this hotel.

The hotel is located in a bustling area of downtown Honolulu, very close to commercial centers like Walmart and Macy's, just a 5-minute walk away. The rooms are spacious and well-equipped, and the service attitude is quite good.

100% budget hotel but the main issue I had was the hidden fees. I ended up paying almost double when I checked in. Seems really dishonest to charge a low amount through the app and then charged again when you check in.

The shower water pressure was about the same as in Japan, which was very helpful! However, it was a bit noisy and a bit damp. Also, there were no amenities, so I recommend bringing your own from Japan!

We travel 3-5 times a year from Maui, and love staying at the Best Western Plaza Hotel. The staff is great, my daughter loves the pool, and we love waking up and going down to get breakfast every morning.

The room was quite spacious, and the bed was comfortable, so I slept very well. The hotel is also close to the airport and offers a free shuttle bus service, which is very convenient for transfers.

It good if you have a morning flight. Since it just 5-10 min with the taxi. Or your can go with airport shuttle. Room is a bit on the older side. And the carpet is dirty a lot of dust. Room is big. bed is comfortable for a night. Room sound proof is not good. Hotel is beside the highway.So until midnight is still very loud.

Great service, professional staff.  If you are looking to be near the airport this is a great choice.  They have an airport shuttle and breakfast. If I’m in HNL again for a quick layover type trip I would stay here again.

OK to stay for a night when you have an early flight out. VERY noisy location and a/c is unbelievably loud. Bed is rather soft. Too expensive for what it is.

The location is good, easy walk to broadway, time square, Fifth Ave and Central Park. Very simple breakfast available. Some homeless people on the street but didn’t feel unsafe.

Lots of space and right in the heart of Waikiki; easily walkable to many fun places

Although the building is old, having been in business for 60 years, the rooms have been thoroughly renovated and are clean and problem-free. Above all, the size is excellent. The pool is also nice. For this price and location, I am completely satisfied. There are not many Japanese guests, but I would recommend it for families.

The hotel rooms are old but that's not a problem. You can always get a replacement beach towel or bath towel at the front desk. The water server was only at the front desk, but it would be more convenient if it was available in other places.

Based off the reviews, we were worried of the bad things people were saying. The room condition was good considering the old building. Personally, I think it was because it was an ocean view, so the view from the room was great. The staff was friendly and helped me check in early, which I was very grateful for. There was a Korean mart, 7/11, and Paris Baguette right next to the hotel, so it was convenient. I stayed in Deluxe Room 914. There's an ice machine in the lobby. If you fill your water bottle with ice before heading out, you can avoid buying many expensive bottled drinks.

Staff was very knowledgeable and willing to help. The stay includes an entrance ticket for the Honolulu Museum of Art which is worthy to visit.

The location is good as there is Waikiki Market nearby and you can walk to Waikiki Beach and Kapiolani Park. Although the hotel is not new, the staff are friendly and the rooms are cleaned, so you can stay with peace of mind. I wasn't expecting much, but I could see the ocean of Waikiki in the distance from the balcony.

I had a wonderful stay at Lotus Honolulu at Diamond Head. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the cleanliness and facilities were excellent. I would definitely choose to stay here again when I visit Honolulu.

We live on O`ahu on the west side, and sometimes events/activities in town run late; the Lotus has become the go-to place for crashing in Honolulu when we also want to swim at Kaimana Beach first thing in the morning, or eat at Arden, or walk Kapiolani Park, and generally avoid the craziness of inner Waikiki. Easy place to return too. Aloha no!

My view of Diamond Head was incredible. Short walk to shopping and nightlife but far enough away to be nice and quiet

The staff were friendly and accommodating, which I appreciated. However, there was a discrepancy with the payment. The listing stated that both cash and credit were accepted for on-site payment, but they only accepted credit cards. I had already exchanged currency, so I ended up losing money. I really wish they would provide accurate information.

Located 15mins walk from Waikiki Beach. Rooms are decent size with balcony. Lacking amenities like vanity kit, dental kit plus there was US$35.00 charge on check out for amenities.

We had a great experience at Vive hotel. The location was super convenient, breakfast was great, and it was always quiet in our room, despite being in busy Waikiki. They have beach gear to borrow, filtered water, and 24/7 coffee. The best thing about Vive was the level of service. Upon check-in on October 9th, I was guided by Mr. Dean, a Korean-speaking employee, to pay $120 for three-day parking, $102.63 for the resort fee, and a $100 deposit, for a total of $336.7633. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, I canceled the payment the next day and repaid it with a different card. Most travelers who come to Waikiki don’t know about the secret rooftop at Ewa Hotel. It’s very peaceful and a great place for relaxation or romance.

Rooms are very old and do not look like photos. Walls have literally no sound barrier. Can hear the neighbours till late at night.

The room is old and has a musty smell as soon as you enter. The towels were clean at first, but some of the bath towels were very dark. The room is not big and the bathroom is small. I was a bit skeptical about the feel of the area and the hotel, but everything worked great. The location is perfect and about a five minute walk from the beach. The room was clean when I entered, and set to 61 degrees F. The room looks a bit dated, but the hot water is superb and the bed comfortable. For the price point, this is an amazing value in Waikiki.

Small old school hotel/motel. Still uses an actual metal key for the door. I got a queen bed room and that is what I got. Tiny room with a queen bed. The problem was the entire room was windows and couldn't open the curtains. Also because it was windows, it was loud. Could hear all the noises, the cars and buses and all the people walking around and talking. AC in the room was fantastic.

The location was amazing, overlooking the beaches to Waikiki and Honolulu! The elevator was troublesome because only one was in operation. Great place to kick back, I got a room through air B&B, the room was very expensive for the lack of square footage. Both elevators did work, the parking security gave me trouble even though we told them we had a room ans said they might have towed us. The view was great, the lack of railing was kinda sketchy. But you can not beat the location. The building felt tired and dated it could use some TLC

This is a condo hotel and if you're not expecting a real hotel it's great. There is no Lobby or front desk service. No one here to give you your key you need to get it from a lockbox. Since I've been here both elevators are working fine and the parking is great. The room is nice and the view is great. You can't beat the location for this cost.
