I sleep in dozens of hotels a year, both for work and leisure travel. I seldom leave reviews. But opinions are so split on Selina Chicago that I feel compelled. First, I found it clean throughout. The common spaces were fun and quirky-- definitely not cookie cutter. As for the rooms, my room 608 was solid 4 star: great bed, fresh remodel. The only downsides were wall-to-wall carpeting that could use...

Hotel is in a great location but is in need of a revamp/modernisation. The co-working space and lobby are nice and modern but they do not reflect the room. Beds were clean but the room carpet was a little dirty. Bathroom was old but the water pressure was good. Overall ticks the box to visit downtown but not special in anyway.

The staff is kind and available to help you. The rooms are quite clean, and the daily breakfast is good enough for the price. The hotel has a lot of character!

Older classic hotel very well located 1/2 block or so fro the Hancock building. Attached to Ditka's restaurant. What could be better?

Nice hotel, pleasant staff and clean. Need minor repairs , maintenance painting is killing the appearance in some areas. Decorated it's a Great place to stay

Very cool hotel and a great location. Bathroom needed updating in a huge way. Bed was comfortable and staff was excellent.

Great stay overall! The service was excellent, the bar was a nice place to relax and chat, and the towel service was convenient. Free ice downstairs was a plus, and the kitchen was usually empty and easy to use. The room was small but cozy, and the price was great for the value.

Everything was above and beyond my expectations amazing staff. Clean rooms. What more could you ask for?

Great hotel and great services. Please fix the key pad at the entry. It is not user friendly. The key pad is very difficult to use when it comes to pressing the numbers. It was frustrating especially when I had an emergency to get back in

The location of where the hotel was. It gave us access to lots of popular places in Chicago. We also had very great staff that made this place enjoyable

I was there with family for a family party… great place to stay, Clean & Comfortable major plus . You don’t find too many places where you feel like home. Staff were amazing and it shows that staying here means a lot . Plenty of parking, they just painted these rooms they look wonderful,clean crisp. This is not the Ritz. But it is affordable, close to an L stop, close to Loyola and on a main road so it’s easy to find. They do not offer maid service during your stay, we saw no breakfast (we brought granola bars so I wasn’t really looking) and the rooms are showing their age. But, they are clean, the hotel staff are very nice and there is free secure parking. At this price what more can you ask...

We really enjoyed our stay here. As a few mentioned in other reviews, there is a smell of old or damp carpet though that might just be on one floor. The rooms and facility were quite clean, the staff was very helpful and accommodating, and we'd stay here again. I do want to emphasize this isn't a 4 star hotel. I'm giving it 4 google stars because for the price, it was good.

Looks like a shady place at first, but once we checked out the neighborhood and room, it wasn't bad at all. A nice place for a motel but a bit pricey to stay for a night. It was not worth the price for a two bed room. For that amount I could have stayed at a Hilton not a Super 8

Location, location, location Price, Price, Price. Nice folks running the show This is a "typical" building from the 1930's (my guess) that seems to have been repurposed from something else so some of the design stuff is a little strange, but clean, comfortable and right in the middle of Lincoln park can’t be beat!

Pretty much exactly what we expected. The building and room were old but clean. We had a comfortable bed and good shower/bathroom. We only stayed one night and mostly used the good location as a center point to explore the city. Would recommend for people on a budget just looking for a clean bed in the Lincoln Park/Lakeview area. Friendly staff too!

The stay was fine. Staff was friendly and helpful. Location was good for my trip. Room was very small. I did book an economy room, but it was really really small. The bathroom door would not even open all the way because it hit the toilet. My bedroom at my house was bigger than this entire hotel room. I was nervous about spending a week in a big city. I am so glad we stayed here The owner and his son were very attentive. and put us at our ease. If you tell him in advance he will give you a ride downtown or anywhere close immediately after breakfast. There was free parking but we took ubers. This place is Amazing!!! Mell and Angie were very nice. They make you feel welcomed and the atmosphere is so relaxing. Their were very attentive to our needs. Mell, Angie and Jimmy are perfect hosts. This is my second 10 day stay at the Welcome Inn Manor and I couldn't ask for a better place to enjoy Chicago while visiting my daughter and son-in-law. The inn is gorgeous, the breakfasts homemade by Mell are an excellent way to start the day, and the beds are comfortable...what more could you ask for?

AC broken. Toilet paper holder broken and no toilet paper. Bed linens very old. No elevator.

There are very large French windows, the air circulation is very good, the conditions are very good

Because there was an exhibition and I was on a business trip with colleagues, all other hotels had no double rooms, so I stayed in this hotel. Overall, the price was not cost-effective to stay in this hotel.

The Omni was a great choice for our recent trip. The cold was record breaking, and we had to stay an extra night because of a snowstorm, but the staff was nice and the amenities were nice. We loved the workout rooms and the doormen were beyond helpful. It's a very nice, clean hotel, and the bar has nice options to eat if you don't want to brave the cold!

Our experience was excellent! The staff at the door were so kind and helpful - even made sure we got into the right cars! The desk staff were also very nice. The room was great and the location next to many walkable things was ideal!

Every staff encounter, from Ham who graciously greeted us and helped with travel arrangements, Sandar at check-in, the wonderful friendly staff in the restaurant, was top-notch. They made my family and me feel welcome and special during our stay. Our room was clean and spacious. Housekeeping staff were friendly and accommodating.

The hotel was in an amazing location! Walkable to so much shopping and dining. The room was amazing with a kitchenette and we had a great view on the 30th floor. The included breakfast buffet was nice to have. We will absolutely stay here again!

Stayed 3 nights with 4 ppl (2 adults, 2 young adults). Room space was great. Room furniture needed help as it looked worn. There was also a missing full length mirror from the wall which left just 1 mirror in 1 bathroom for 4 people (incl 2 women). Staff was nice always picked up on the first ring was close to everything.My only issue was the water hot went out several times during our stay and no update.

The location is great, right by the lake and in the city center. The room was clean, and the kitchen was adequate. The breakfast was average. Valet parking was a bit expensive, but a few improvements would make it perfect.

The room was huge, the sofa had holes, and it was old. They need to upgrade the design and the furniture of the room. The bed was comfy. They don’t provide water and toothbrush for their guests. They have limited food for their breakfast. Our stay was fine.

Excellent service and very clean!

The accommodation was very comfortable and the room was clean. It's cleaned every two days, but you just need to let the front desk know if you want it cleaned daily. The breakfast was simple but had everything you needed, and it was very satisfying. Highly recommended.

The hotel's facilities are top-notch, but the breakfast was a letdown. My room wasn't cleaned during my two-day stay; apparently, they only clean every other day, which I found quite inconvenient.

This hotel is right in Chinatown, a fantastic location. As soon as you step out of the lobby, you're surrounded by all sorts of shops, and it's particularly convenient for Chinese speakers. The hotel's cleanliness, environment, and service are all great. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Chicago.

It was a great location and accessible by all modes just missing the basic parking facility plus basic bar & water in the room. The bathrooms could be renovated as it gives an old and worn out look with crappy spaces

It's alright for the price, but the sound insulation is pretty average.

His restaurant is in mainland China, which could be very dangerous because the emergency exits are monitored by a computer system, making it extremely dangerous in the event of a fire.

The room was well-equipped, the bedding was changed daily, and the service was good. However, there weren't many restaurants or shopping options nearby, which was a bit inconvenient.

My stay at Holiday Inn was satifiied overall. The room was clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly, and the location was convenient to Chicago Downtown.

I love coming to this motel. It is very clean and the personal is very friendly. One of the main reason I come back is because of the customer service I receive from Candy. She is very friendly and attentive to the needs we have in our room. I recommend this place.

Staff are ready to clean your room at request. They are pleasant and easy to approach at all times. The bed is clean. The only motel with fridge and microwave in the room. Easy transportation if you have no car. In the center of Chicago and Surbùrbs.

For a cheap hotel, it’s fine as it has the basic necessities a hotel needs - however, it was slightly dirty, microwave didn’t work, and no plugs. The side lights on the nightstands didn’t work and the room was hot (no temperature regulation). For the price it’s fair

Love this place for a quick staycation break from everyone! Staff is great and nearby is all the stores you could ever want!

I liked that the motel was small, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It was also comparatively affordable. They are doing an upgrade, which would be good. Bed was quite comfortable. Crosby’s Kitchen was across the street. Also a Mexican restaurant and a gyro shop were close. Caldwell was not far away.

For the price it is very good. Clean, comfortable. It does have Wi-Fi although it said it didn't when booking.

My stay at McCormick Place Guest House was great and offered good value compared to hotels. Common areas are spacious and well kept. Room was sufficient with a bed and chair and clean. I was provided two bath towels and hand towels. Although unusual, sharing a common bathroom wasn’t an issue for me and the bathroom was kept clean.

The location is central, so it's easy to get around. But it is also right next to a fire station, so if you're sensitive to sounds, it may be difficult for you. For the price, it's great and the staff are very friendly.

We were there in shoulder season and the hotel rooms were quiet for sleeping. Beds were very comfortable! The free breakfast wasn’t very good but a fast option because nearby restaurants have wait times for breakfast.
