Reviews
What truly made the experience special was the outstanding service, especially from Lilly. She was incredibly kind, professional, and always willing to help. From the moment I arrived, she made me feel welcomed and taken care of, answering all my questions with a smile and making sure everything during my stay was perfect.
Thanks to Lilly’s attention and dedication, my stay was even better than expected. I would definitely recommend this hotel and look forward to staying here again.

1. This is in a townhouse with a bar on the ground floor so there are many times in the evening when someone can walk up from the bar up to the room level. Yes sometimes the door separating the bar and the rooms is password protected and closed sometimes (like how regular hotels might have key cards) but a lot of the time it’s open and when I arrived one of the room doors was wide open…(not to mention you have to be firm with the doors shut because they don’t automatically shut) So what happens if one day someone just walks up after drinking at the bar ? So saying this place is child friendly is just wild to me…
1. There are also 15 steps which are steep to reach the front door and don’t expect help getting up them by the way the only person who kindly offered at the end was someone by the name of Mirsad so if you have heavy luggage or this is an issue for you you’re on your own.
The rooms are also pretty small and dark and as you can imagine there’s quite a bit of noise in the neighborhood and there is washing and drying available but they have to take your clothes and bring it back to you where in other Sonders you have a washer dryer in unit.
Would not recommend.
Long story short, our whole experience just didn’t measure up to the hotel’s expensive nightly rate.

The seafood is always fresh, and the menu variety is huge. They do run out of a few things by 7pm, but I have never had to resort to my third choice, ever.
The best option is the four horseshoe tables in the middle that seat about 20 people each on barstools---the server HAS to walk past you all the time, so there is never any frustration wondering where he/she is. Yes, there are some characters, but never rude.
This place mostly serves commuters waiting on their trains, so nobody hangs out much after their meal is over. That frees up seats.
It isn't cheap, but it isn't as expensive as most seafood joints in midtown. Good value and you won't leave hungry.
It is historic, and that is a plus. They have a very old seafood stew bar that uses piped steam to make seafood stews from fresh ingredients that you choose in four different copper/brass vessels right on the bar. Very Old School, and very delicious.
Something for everyone!
The seeded crackers and soda rolls are absolutely unique and delicious!
Update:
On 7/1/17 I had to bring my parents visiting from Florida here!!! We had such an awesome time!!! Muhammad was our server and he went above and beyond to provide world class service! This my favorite place for oysters in NY and the lobster was amazing!
Campbells is superior.
We had chicken, pork, fish and steak frites dishes, no complaints.... from anyone!
We sat on the rooftop with a nice view of Bryant Park and buildings overwhelming us from above. We ordered a bunch of salads and sandwiches for lunch. The food was standard- the salads were good and sandwiches nicely made. I think you could easily opted for a more economical version at the Wichcraft in Bryant Park, but for the view and atmosphere, Bryant Park Grill is nice.
