We travel to NYC often with family for mini-vacations and usually choose this Benjamin midtown location which is very convenient. It very walkable to Rockefeller center and shopping areas during Christmas time. Subway stations very close by. The rooms and suites are decent size with comfortable beds. We particular like staying in their suites, which has a kitchenette with a microwave oven.

We feel that the rooms are not well cleaned and we can see the dust and hairs in some places when we first checked in. The street noise level is typical of a NYC hotel. Even with a $10/day minibar credit, a bag of potato chips is $8 and $12 for a bottle of water. We think the snack bar should be a convenience for guests and not a rip off. The elevators are old, small and slow. We usually take the stairs for some extra steps, which we actually don't mind doing. The gym is small but functional when you need to get some exercise in after all the good eating in the city.

Overall, we enjoy our stays here. The recent updates have made this hotel a better value.

Our family visited at Christmastime and stayed in a King Suite. The rooms are nicely furnished with a modern flair and I appreciated the hardwood floors vs carpet. The bathroom is nicely tiled in marble but could be bigger. There isn’t a countertop for toiletries or cosmetics. The location is great but the street noise on Lexington is very loud. We heard sirens and horns late into the night. I would stay here again if we were guaranteed a room that was on the other side of the building, opposite of Lexington. I did request this upon check-in but was not available.

I stayed with my family in this wonderful hotel. It’s very well located.
The service is very professional at all times. The rooms are luxurious.
It has a mini kitchen, with microwave and refrigerator among other things.
I recommend it if you want a fantastic experience.

We had a wonderful experience at this hotel Friday into Saturday. Every staff member we interacted with was well trained, friendly, helpful and service oriented. This hotel has a great location in midtown and has easy access to restaurants, theaters, shopping and site seeing. Our room was very nice, freshly renovated and had everything you would expect in a luxury hotel. The bed was comfortable, great shower, quiet, great TV with multiple channels and a good size for a NY hotel room. Doorman and Bellmen were great. We can highly recommend.

This has been a fantastic hotel to stay in. Mid-town is perfect for getting everywhere, but you can escape the busy uptown and hang out in some great bars and restaurants locally. We were spoilt for choice.

Everyone at the hotel is very helpful, warm and welcoming. Special mentions to Jonathan on the door and Dimitri in the bar, who really looked after us.

The beds are ridiculously comfortable and I don’t think I’ve slept so well in a hotel. The size of our suites was brilliant and the rooms are stylish but cozy.

I’ll most definitely be returning to this great hotel, in its great midtown location and its first class service.

Rooms are decent if not a bit dated. The towels are great, and I'm a stickler for good towels. They have pillow options which is cool. However, the hallways and doors are super noisy. The housekeeping staff was going in and out of some staff room late into the night and it kept me awake with the door constantly slamming. Sleep isn't that restful. So I can't rate this highly, which is a shame.

Our favorite place to stay in NYC. The clean and finely appointed rooms have kitchenettes. It is quiet, yet close to everything. Service is superb and The National restaurant is excellent.

Clean, comfortable, well appointed rooms in Midtown East. Try their complementary pillow menu. Service was prompt and the hotel was well maintained. No complaints.

Very comfortable boutique hotel with a friendly and welcoming staff. The restaurant attached has a wonderful breakfast. The rooms are nicely appointed, spacious enough and updated for a modern world.

Even though I could spend hours on our balcony despite the cold, we were naturally on the move during the day. You cannot live more centrally in The Benjamin Hotel than in Midtown Manhattan. Rockefeller Center, Fifth Avenue, or Central Park are within walking distance from the hotel.

The quality of the food is far from what I was expecting - a simple chicken breast was overly greasy and unnecessarily fatty. The service was sporadic and when gratuity reflected such - the server seemingly became mute.

I would suggest looking elsewhere for a good meal - there are plenty of options within close proximity.

Excellent selection of wines, meat and fish with views and a full bar. Service was reliable and the atmosphere was casual/cozy. This is a family - friendly restaurant which made for a noisier experience.

Pricey but breakfast was excellent! Pancakes with blueberries and almonds was served with generous amount of warm maple syrup on the side. Four personal sized bottles of jams accompanied toast for my egg white omelette with salad. Delicious! Coffee is expensive- $12 a pot for two but served with steamed milk on the side. Service was also excellent. Compared with other restaurants in the area, prices are not so bad and food is much better than our other experiences. Definitely would comeback here! Would give five stars for quality but dropped one star for price!

Nice food. WAY too loud. Impossible to talk. You have to shout. Add curtains or carpets or something.

Fun service staff, tasty food and the perfect atmosphere for a great night out. With plenty of options to choose from, we shared five starters between two people in order to taste as much as possible - each was unique and incredibly tasty. I've experienced plenty of bland Mexican food and this was the complete opposite - though I'm not sure how authentic. The upper loft-like seated dinning area was fun and overall the whole evening great.

Bad service, girl was in no good mood and forgot to take my order, she knows not much about what they sell, food is not the best for the big price they want. Not recommended

This is a pretty good Mexican restaurant, a nice place to have a sit-down meal or just drinks with a group of people. The food is all pretty good, so you probably won't go wrong with whatever you order, and the service is pretty pleasant and efficient.

I enjoyed the whole experience at Dos Caminos. The service was excellent. We were somewhat in a hurry and the server was very fast and efficient. The fish tacos were the best I’ve ever had. The only drawback is no free chips and salsa with the meal.
09.12.2017 Benjamin
Food was fine but they give you a VERY short time to eat and be out of there. When I arrived at 6:15 they said we had to be out of there by 7:15pm. And then right at 7:05 they were there with the check telling us that we had to be out by 7:15. Felt like we had to scarf down our food with little to no time to enjoy drinks. VERY disappointing. If you are looking for a nice relaxing evening do not come here. They give you just over an hour to order get your food and eat.

I've been to less than clean hole in the wall joints that have been absolutely exceptional and Mendy's is not one of them. Bland food, un-attentive staff - one even had a hole in his disposable rubber gloves as he prepped food, which looked stale and left out for far too long.

I'd complain about the outrageous prices too but hell, I wouldn't even come here if it was free. If you're hankering for a sandwich, do yourself a favor and just go to the subway next door.
