Otyak Hotel in Yerevan

We had to stay here due to a layover. The hotel and rooms are very old, the bathroom smelled, and the door couldn’t be locked. Breakfast was bad, and the taxi the hotel arranged was overpriced for a short ride. We paid almost 110 euros for a small chicken dish, some fries, and a bottle of wine, which is outrageous. Not recommended. You’re better off with a 5-star hotel in the city for the same price but much better service.

Terrible Experience – Avoid This Hotel

I had a very disappointing experience at Otyak Hotel in Yerevan. The room lacked even the most basic essentials – no wardrobe, no safe, no fridge, and not even a bedside lamp. It was clear that cleanliness is not a priority here. During my two-night stay, the room was never cleaned once, and when I first arrived, the towels provided were completely wet.

Service was unprofessional and untrustworthy. I asked the front desk to help me call a taxi, and while they were laughing and joking about it, I later found out from the driver that they had charged me more than 3,000 AMD of the actual fare – clearly taking advantage of a tourist.

To top it off, they charged me 17,500 AMD for a very basic dinner – nearly double what I paid at one of Yerevan’s best restaurants, where I had multiple main courses for just 8,500 AMD. The pricing here is simply a scam.

It’s incredibly sad to see places like this tarnishing the reputation of a beautiful city like Yerevan. Tourists deserve honesty and hospitality, not to be ripped off. I strongly advise avoiding this hotel at all costs.
