Hotel Feldwebel in Soell

Hotel Feldweber is located in the best area of Söll. We chose a one-bedroom suite, and the room was clean and pleasant. However, we were disappointed that a 4-star hotel room did not include a refrigerator or tea/coffee-making facilities. There was not even bottled water in the room, and it seemed we were expected to drink tap water. For guests who prefer not to drink tap water and who would like coffee or tea, purchasing these from the hotel bar was quite expensive. Improvements in these areas, as well as in the taste of half-board dinner, would greatly enhance guest comfort.

The most important point, however, is that the staff could benefit from further development in hospitality. On our first night, we found a black hair in my soup, and when we kindly asked for a replacement, no one bothered to apologized for the incident. At breakfast in particular, despite there being only one staff member present, the noise level and manner of communication felt rather abrupt and made us uncomfortable throughout our stay. We were even reprimanded for finishing our breakfast about 10 minutes late. During both breakfast and dinner, we were instructed to sit at a specific table located directly opposite the kitchen door, which was frequently opened and closed, creating significant noise from inside the kitchen, combined with conversations among staff at the bar just in front of the kitchen door. We believe this is not the environment guests expect when they come on holiday to relax and rest. Although we kindly asked to move to another table away from the kitchen door, we were offered with the table next to us with same proximity to the door. Hence, our request was declined, even though the restaurant was large and nearly more than half empty. We have visited 20+ countries around the world, and we have rarely encountered such an unwelcoming attitude toward guests.

Edit: As can be observed, the hotel responded in an extremely unprofessional and rude manner again. So, I believe there is no need to explain further but wish them success :)

Great location. Average hotel. Very disappointed with staff. Very unwelcoming, that is when reception was manned! Even though the staff denied reception was unmanned!! Bar staff during the day complained when asked for 2 drinks, " just sat down for a coffee " even though only 2 other people in the small bar... breakfast lady couldn't wait to get rid of you, except for one nice other blond haired lady passing through dining room who said good morning. All in all would never recommend or return. Pity my first visit to soll will probably be my last. Great experiences in other great ski resorts.

My friends and I recently had the misfortune of visiting the hotel bar at this establishment, and let me tell you, it was an experience we'll never forget - and not in a good way.

From the moment we stepped through the doors, we were made to feel like unwelcome outsiders. The staff, adorned in traditional dress, immediately eyed us up and down with disdain. When we tried to pay for our drinks with a card, the woman behind the bar scoffed and informed us that they only accepted cash, "just like we do back home." Meanwhile, the locals were able to breeze through, swiping their cards without a second thought.

The cherry on top of this already unpleasant sundae came when the same woman server leaned in and whispered, "You shouldn't have come to our country if you can't respect our ways." Needless to say, we were taken aback by the sheer audacity and blatant racism of her statement.

I understand that different cultures have different customs, but when those customs are used as a means to discriminate and make guests feel unwelcome, that's a problem. This hotel bar needs to take a long, hard look at its policies and the way its staff treats visitors from other countries.

Save yourself the hassle and the heartache, and find a more welcoming establishment to spend your hard-earned money at. This place is a disgrace to the hospitality industry.
