Intercontinental Beijing Beichen in Beijing

My stay at the Intercontinental Beijing Beichen was an extremely disappointing experience, absolutely not worth the 2000+ RMB per night price tag. The service quality of a five-star hotel was severely lacking. Upon arriving at the hotel entrance, there was no concierge to greet me proactively. I had to drag two large suitcases in by myself, with no one offering to help with heavy luggage. The initial impression was terrible.

Check-in at the front desk was incredibly inefficient. I waited a long time as the process dragged on. The staff's attitude was perfunctory, and they inexplicably asked if I had checked in earlier in the morning, which was a baffling question and quite perplexing.

After entering the room, I found an array of drinks and snacks, seemingly complimentary VIP amenities. I specifically called the front desk to confirm if they were free to use, only to be told that staff had forgotten to remove them and they were meant for VIP guests. Such a careless oversight not only caused misunderstanding for the guest but also highlighted the hotel's lax management. Does this mean they differentiate between guests based on their 'value'?

Overall, the service was negligent, and details were full of flaws. The attentive service and professional standards expected of a high-end hotel were completely absent. While the hardware and location are decent, the soft services fall far short of expectations. Paying a high price only to receive treatment akin to a regular budget hotel, the value for money is extremely low. I highly discourage staying here; the experience was greatly diminished.
