The room was quite good, with a simple yet complete decor – it had everything needed, and the shower had great water pressure. Outside the window were old buildings, and the location was very convenient. The lobby smelled nice, but the hallway had a sewage-like odor, and the room also had a faint, unidentifiable smell, so I had to sleep with the window open. Breakfast was simple but tasty; the noodles, eggs, stir-fried pork with chili, cake, and yogurt were all delicious and filling. The pillows in the room were comfortable. The service was good, especially the quiet and polite young woman working on Friday afternoon.

Since I booked through Ctrip and not HUAZHU, my silver membership didn't really help, and I couldn't get a late checkout, not even by an hour. However, when I booked a Hanting in Hangzhou through Ctrip, I was able to extend my checkout until 2 PM. Every time I took the elevator, there was a sewage-like odor. Other than that, everything else was fine.

The front desk staff were warm and the service was excellent. The hotel is scheduled for renovation in 2025. Even with the simple breakfast, I felt full and satisfied. The location is great; I was able to walk to The Bund, see the Oriental Pearl Tower, and witness its lights turn on at 6 PM. From there, it's a short walk to Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street.

Clean and tidy, with convenient transportation. It's just one bus stop to the Bund, and there's a breakfast place downstairs.

The location is quite convenient, with plenty of eateries downstairs. However, the steps at the entrance are really inconvenient for guests with large luggage. The room layout is also a bit odd, and the ventilation isn't great. On top of that, the heating was already on, making the room very stuffy and hot.

The overall environment and cleanliness were great. Right downstairs, you'll find a wide variety of restaurants, and it's also very convenient for getting around. Highly recommended.

I came to Shanghai for an event and chose this Hanting hotel because of its convenient location. It's very close to the subway, the surrounding area is well-equipped with plenty of amenities, and there are many great food options. The only drawback was the automatic flushing toilet in the bathroom. It flushes automatically after use, which is fine during the day, but the noise at night can be quite loud and disturbs others' sleep. It would be perfect if it could be reconfigured or adjusted! Thumbs up!

While the location was a bit further from North Bund than my previous hotel, the overall ambiance and service at this hotel were excellent. I booked a twin room, and I particularly liked its design, which cleverly created separate spaces for adults and children. Very thoughtful!

Yesterday, the cat cafe was unexpectedly closed, so I booked a day-use room to unwind and pass the time.

Hanting is usually my go-to for accommodation. The new Hanting hotels are generally a dependable choice for their hygiene and service. However, this time I was quite disappointed.

Firstly, the parking spaces were quite cramped (though I must commend the receptionist with glasses and the uncle at the entrance for their enthusiastic help with parking guidance). Secondly, there was an unidentified liquid stain on the shelf above the toilet paper holder in the bathroom. The room was also very small, lacking even a stool for changing shoes.

Lastly, a small incident during check-in stood out. An elderly gentleman inquired about the day's room rates. While the receptionist with glasses was very enthusiastic and clearly explained the prices and member discounts, another receptionist, unfortunately, wasn't nearly as polite.

The elderly man mentioned, 'I saw it's slightly cheaper on Ctrip.' The receptionist with glasses responded, 'That's right, there can be slight differences between various platforms.' The elderly man then said, 'I thought it was only around 400 RMB?' The other receptionist sharply retorted, 'That's impossible! We never have rooms that cheap. You must be mistaken about the hotel. Our prices are never that low. Do you honestly think you can get a room here for that price?' The elderly man said nothing and left.

Standing nearby, I found the whole exchange quite appalling. As a Shanghainese who grew up in Hongkou, this area is honestly quite ordinary, definitely not prime real estate. Even without a membership, I'd consider 500-600 RMB very expensive. And after knowing the elderly gentleman was likely seeking a more budget-friendly room, how could she speak to him in such a manner?

The slogan on the room key card felt particularly ironic after this experience. Are these slogans just for customers to see, not for the staff to actually live by?

Facilities: Good. The facilities are quite new. While the room size is a bit compact, it's cleverly designed. Breakfast options aren't extensive, but they offer around ten different items, which is decent.

Cleanliness: Spotless, tidy, and completely free of any unpleasant odors.

Environment: Situated in a residential area, the hotel is surrounded by a fantastic variety of restaurants offering different cuisines (Hunan, Cantonese, Northeastern, Anhui, and local Shanghai dishes), providing plenty of dining choices. You'll also find small supermarkets, fruit shops, barbershops, and even a tiny lottery stand nearby. It's a bustling yet peaceful neighborhood with a very authentic local vibe. (I particularly enjoyed the freshly fried *youtiao* and soy milk in the morning, and was lucky enough to catch the Shanghai Nanhui peaches in season!)

Attractions: The nearby North Bund is just a leisurely walk from the hotel. The stroll itself is lovely, passing numerous century-old buildings, and you'll reach your destination after crossing Zhapu Road Bridge and Waibaidu Bridge.

Service: The staff were warm, attentive, and communication was seamless. They even offer umbrellas for guests to borrow at the entrance when it rains, which is a really thoughtful touch.
