Howard Johnson Tropical Garden Plaza Kunming in Kunming

Facilities: Since I was traveling with my child, I specifically chose a room on the 16th floor where the beds could be combined. The south-facing room got a lot of sunlight. The two beds pushed together were very spacious, and they added a child safety rail – perfect for families with kids (I suggest providing a child's step stool for the sink).

The hotel also has a kids' play area on the 2nd floor with very new and rich facilities. My child had a great time playing there every day.

The room had a slightly old-fashioned decor but was well-maintained. The shower water temperature was a bit difficult to adjust, and the water pressure wasn't very strong. I hope this can be improved.

Cleanliness: Very good, spotlessly clean, and tidied up promptly every day.

Breakfast: The dining area isn't huge, but the selection is quite rich. Especially, the small pastries at the Western dessert station were delicious.

Environment: Very convenient for getting around if you're driving. Self-parking is free, and there's also a shuttle service to the high-speed rail station, which is very convenient.

Service: The WeChat butler service was especially attentive and responsive, always fulfilling requests promptly. Since my return high-speed train was quite late, they even offered a late check-out, which was great.

The rice noodles provided in the package were delicious! Plus, there were snacks delivered every evening~

The room was very clean, odorless, and spacious, making for a comfortable stay. The kids' play area is huge, and my child had a great time. We'll definitely choose to stay here again.

I particularly like the tasteful architectural décor, as well as the food. If you are looking for a place close to the Kunming city government, various banks and shops, then this location is ideal. It can be too far from the city for tourists. The personal attention from the staff was really outstanding. There is a chic bar with pastries, it would have been nice to have an outdoor terrace to chill out in the evening, as plenty of space is given. We definitely want to come back for a 3rd time.

This is a pleasant hotel experience. H at the front desk checked in very quickly, the service staff was very friendly, and the overall environment was very warm.

Always a pleasure to stay in this Hotel. Great situation, as 4 minutes walking from subway and commercial street, malls. Best value in south Kunming. Most of staff at reception speak English. I highly recommend it !

The service staff are very caring and careful. It's not far from the high-speed rail station, and you can reserve the hotel's car to deliver to the high-speed rail station, which surprised me! I mean the service here is spot on.
