Hotel Orange in Gonio

You can see on the pictures the real view. Except that, there was the odor in the room, I think because of the carpets. The window in the bathroom didn’t work properly. The balcony is not real balcony, where you can sit and enjoy, the view was on the wall of another building. Good location and nice garden area behind the building. Breakfast is ok.

A small hotel in Gonio, about 16 rooms, on a quiet street parallel to the main street. Quiet is relative though, with hardly any street noise, but hotel after hotel is springing up in this once very sleepy village near the border with Turkey. In addition to the Orange, however, only minor work was taking place at similarly small hotels, and it was quiet in the evenings. But then the hotel's own rooster crowed during the day, whose hens delivered the super-fresh eggs for the sumptuous, delicious breakfast (included in the price). Country life also includes the dogs scattered around the village, which barked competitively on many a night. Only a bit disturbing if you want to sleep with the window open. Oh yes, you shouldn't be afraid of free-roaming cows either. Back to the hotel itself: Small reception with a TV room, breakfast is served in a small pavilion, the rooms are of medium standard, the beds are okay, the air conditioning works, the bathroom is clean (toilet, shower with two showers, sink), TV and WiFi. Linen change probably only on request (lack of staff?) or after a certain time (?), the same applies to towels, so putting them on the floor as in other hotels does not apply here. Very friendly staff, but sometimes very slightly overwhelmed. But the stay is very inexpensive, good restaurants nearby, about 300 meters walk to the beach and the beautiful promenade. price - value.
