Aparthotel Costa in Makhinjauri

Looks good in booking site, looks different in reality. They couldn’t provide a water bottle 😂. When they cleaned the bathroom they didn’t provide new shampoos and soaps. I wouldn’t consider this as a hotel, maybe more of apartment shall I say but other than that it’s calm.

The hotel in the photos doesn't match the reality at all. There was no hot water for two days! It's raining outside, it's cold. And there's no way to even take a shower in the room. The boiler was broken on the first day. It was fixed on the second, but the water was still cold. The owner said the water wasn't cold, but summer water. There's no electricity on the premises. You have to use a flashlight. When it rains, the water stands on the premises. You can't leave the hotel without getting your feet wet. The rooms are fine, except for the terrible mattress and toilet. There is a stove and a washing machine in the room, but no microwave. Although there is one in the photo. The toilet smells like sewage and there is always standing water. It's not clear whether the toilet is leaking or something. The rooms are cold. You have to turn the air conditioner on high. There is no place to dry clothes at all. The radiators are turned off, there is no towel rack. All the towel hooks in the bathroom are falling off. The location is suitable for those who have their own car.

Unfortunately, we cannot understand the positive reviews for this hotel at all. The hallway looks like a factory, and there's a very unpleasant smell coming from the bathroom drain. The room itself is extremely damp, and the air smells accordingly. The balcony door won't close and keeps opening on its own. The wall-mounted television is useless, as it's not connected to the internet, cable, or satellite.

There are no chairs in the room or on the balcony, making it impossible to use. There's also no place to hang laundry. The rooms are very sparsely furnished, without any decorations or pictures. The mattresses are worn out and offer hardly any comfort.

The hotel seems to be quite old. It's located outside of Batumi and is only accessible by taxi. The surrounding area is dreary and uninviting.

The only positive aspect is the lobby, which is shown in the hotel photos and is indeed attractively designed. The cleanliness and the work of the cleaning staff are also commendable – they do a good job.


Since we booked without breakfast, we can't comment on that. Overall, however, we wouldn't recommend booking this hotel.

The location is very strange, there is no internet in the rooms, the hotel looks like something out of a horror movie. Frankly, we couldn't get comfortable at all.
