Reviews
During my visit, the hotel was not very crowded, which made the atmosphere calm and relaxing. The view from the hotel is truly impressive—one of the highlights of the stay. The hotel is located on a hill, so while the scenery is stunning, walking outside can be a bit challenging, especially in winter conditions.
The breakfast was good, and enjoying it with such a beautiful mountain view made the experience even better. However, in the morning during my stay, there were two brief power outages. Fortunately, they were short and did not cause major inconvenience.
Room service was a bit confusing. It could not be ordered through the staff downstairs and had to be done by phone. Unfortunately, when I tried calling, no one answered, which was slightly frustrating.
Despite these minor issues, I still had a positive overall experience. Rooms Hotel Kazbegi is a great choice if you are staying in Kazbegi for a short visit and want to enjoy unforgettable views in a unique setting.
We had an absolutely terrible experience at the famous Rooms Hotel Kazbegi.
We booked a mountain view room for two nights, but due to the hotel’s mistake, we were given a standard room on the first night and only got the mountain view room on the second night.
This mistake also caused a long check-in delay of around 50 minutes.
While waiting, I tried to take a photo of a sleeping dog in the lobby.
A security guard stopped me very rudely and said indoor photography was not allowed.
There was no sign about this, and I was only taking a picture of the dog, not any people.
Later, we went down for dinner.
It took over an hour to get all our food, they served the wrong dishes, and we had to keep asking them to hurry up.
The food was just average, and they still charged 18% tax and service fee.
The room itself was extremely dark — even with all the lights on, I had to use my phone flashlight to find things.
The bathroom has no wet-dry separation, so after a shower, the whole bathroom was completely flooded.
If you're considering staying at this hotel, be aware:
- Don't bother calling the hotel; the phone is always unanswered. Only emails get a response, and it takes a long time. (Not sure if this was an issue with the staff schedule that day.)
- The customer service staff are unreasonable and refuse to admit any fault.
- I'm very disappointed with the hotel. It ruined my mood on Chinese New Year's Day and completely disrupted all my plans.
Big thanks to Ctrip; their customer service was excellent and kept following up on the progress.
The hotel itself is beautiful and definitely the best in kezbegi - the food selection isnt huge but for georgian standards its good ! Would pass on the hummus , aglio e olio is very delectable . The views are amazing so pretty would recommend
Lika was attentive, friendly, and professional throughout the entire evening, always making sure we were comfortable and enjoying our experience. The service was excellent, and we truly felt welcomed. We really enjoyed our time and would happily come back again.
First off, I can't fault the hotel's environment; it was great, and the breakfast spread was very generous. However, the rooms themselves, as many are aware, have notoriously subpar facilities, so I won't dwell on that. My main point concerns the check-in experience. The front desk staff were very polite, genuinely seeming to want to assist, but!
But! The hotel's check-in procedure clearly discriminates against Chinese guests. Or perhaps it's against Ctrip bookings! As shown in my photos, the worst 'last-available' rooms are those situated at the back; while they face a mountain, another hotel building completely blocks the view. Only a handful of rooms in this particular row are affected, with the balcony view entirely obscured by that building. These rooms, by the way, cost 1800 RMB. I observed that on that day, every single guest checking into these specific inferior rooms was Chinese – exclusively Chinese, no other foreign visitors. It appears that any booking made through Ctrip automatically results in the front desk assigning one of these undesirable rooms. I'm quite disappointed with Ctrip.
