Amber Econtel München in Munchen

This is a great value hotel for Munchen, they have family rooms with 2 double beds which are perfect for families with 2 children.
The atmosphere in the hotel reminded me of eastern Europe or Russia for some reason.

Ok quality for a small amount of money. Clean, quiet og ok service. Only minus was the there was no air-conditioning so the room was hot when we was 4 people sleeping in the same room.

If you're looking for a budget hotel with great access to Munich and Oktoberfest, this is the place. If you're looking for something more comfortable and modern, you may want to consider other properties.

First off, the rooms do NOT have air conditioning, not even a window unit. Which means that in the summer, the rooms get rather stuffy - And they stay that stuffy at night. Be careful opening the window, however. You may have un-invited guests joining you. (See my pictures.)

The bathroom is rather odd, with a low shower head, a movable plexi-glass barrier, and a tub that is actually higher than the floor - so getting out is challenging when everything is wet. Plus, everything is rather old and outdated.

The rooms can only be access with a door key - nothing digital like other hotels. And it locks behind you every time, so be mindful not to leave the key behind.

There is parking out front but it can be limited during peak hours. The hotel charges for parking out front (4 euros/night). There is a garage that you can use under the building (8 euros/night).

The room is big, and it has the basics you need. The downside was the cleaning and air conditioning, it doesn't have air conditioning, and you can't open the window either because they don't have mosquito nets and it's full of bugs. The staff was polite, friendly and useful. They offer you DB train tickets to avoid buying them at the station. I suspect that you would have noise problems if your room is at the front of the hotel due to the restaurants (it was not my case). The shower was good. Breakfast? Great. You are 20 minutes away from Marienplatz taking a S train, the nearest station is only two blocks away from the hotel. The same train takes you to MUN airport. I stayed from 30th May to 2nd June.

The thing that bothers me the most that the house keeper didn’t come to my room through the whole 48 hours of my stay. Also, smell of the rooms and the restaurant is not pleasant.

Not bad, if you want a hotel close to the train station, easy to get to Munich City Center. Could upgrade the bathrooms
