Contrary to what you read with one star.. the place is actually ok. The elevator wasn’t working when I got there but aside of that the hotel is good enough to stay a couple of nights. The place is not new but the location is ideal.. the couple working there are pretty kind and servicial. This is one of the place that the good travelers need to take care of.. so is on service for other people in the future. The price is fair… only a sound at night I guess the AC is a bit annoying but nothing that can’t be ignored. Long review cause … I almost let me drag by the mad people that gave them one star. Ignore them… if you want more luxury just go and pay more somewhere else.

Awful! At best, this is a glorified 1940s youth hostel. Rooms are tiny, the bed is kid-sized, bathroom and shower is cramped and outdated. Reception tell you to leave your key with them every morning when you leave. I didn’t and they chastised me in the evening when I returned. I’m a 53 year old male for goodness sake😁. WiFi is sketchy but with the state of the rooms you want to spend minimal time there anyway. And the best bit, $455 per night! Honestly, the worst so-called hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Please avoid at all costs.

Nice hotel by Maxvorstad. Good pillows, good bed, good shower head, good everything. Haven't tried the food, but will soon. This place is awesome.

Absolute rip off.

Almost 500 euros for an old room under the roof with tiny windows that was uncomfortably hot even with 13 degrees outside during the night and the windows open. Uncomfortable bed. Had to carry my large suitcase up the stairs because there is no elevator to the highest floor. No offer to help.

Don’t book this hotel unless you have a deal for 70-80 Euros. Anything else is not worth it. They should be ashamed of charging that much (and I think the receptionist was).

The facilities are old, but well-maintained, unexpectedly giving it a feel reminiscent of an old movie. The service is attentive, the staff are very friendly, and the location is extremely convenient.

The Carlton Munich has a prestigious name, but the current state of this otherwise charming hotel no longer lives up to it. While the furnishings and room quality may vary, it's undeniable that everything is very worn and in dire need of renovation. One hopes for the best… On the positive side: the excellent location, the friendly service, and the (for Munich) moderate prices.

An outstanding stay at the Hotel Carlton Munich! The hotel not only boasts a prime location but also excellent service and comfortable rooms. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful. The hotel's facilities and cleanliness were first-class. I highly recommend the Hotel Carlton Munich and am already looking forward to my next visit!

Excellent, convenient, affordable, old-school hotel. Handsome appointments, well-restored, nice antique vibe. Hotel desk staff are--as is ubiquitous in Munich--competent, efficient, and wildly polylingual. High-celing'd rooms (no a/c, so bring a fan), excellent free Euro-style breakfast buffet. Very convenient walking distance to LMU (university) quarter in one direction, and Marienplatz in another.

This hotel is coveniently located not far from the university but other than than that there is little reason to go there. In fact it is rather crummy. The corridor leading to my room was dark - the bed in my (single) room may fit a 10 year old which I am not and the bathroom needs renewal. The hallway outside my room was fark - breakfast hardly more than average. Service was far from setisfactory.
