Karma Bavaria in Schliersee

Only stayed one night. Had the pool, sauna and whirlpool to myself. Receptionist was absolutely lovely. We were given vouchers for free bus travel and attractions. Room was luxurious with a huge sofa as well as king size bed. Very comfortable with wonderful views from the balcony area

We stayed at the Karma Bavaria for four nights from the 15th April. We loved everything about this hotel: The location, the rooms, the restaurant, the spa, the games room, the gymnasium etc - but perhaps most important the staff were lovely and made you feel very welcome.

Review of Karma Bavaria My boyfriend and I stayed for four nights after purchasing a promotional stay at a stand at the Ideal Home Show. The offer was presented as a discounted break aimed at introducing a younger audience to the brand, with the understanding that we would attend a short presentation (around 45 minutes) about Karma’s other resorts. We were told it was mainly to raise awareness and that there would be no pressure selling. Firstly, the hotel itself is lovely. The setting is beautiful and although there were a few small maintenance issues and some repairs happening, that is understandable out of season. The reception and hospitality staff were excellent throughout our stay and couldn’t have been more helpful or welcoming. It was clear there was also a separate sales team. When we arrived we were approached by Vita, who asked if we could arrange a time to sit down and hear about how the Karma membership works. As we had literally just arrived, we asked to do this later so we could get our bearings and unpack first. Her Manager Dimitri was present throughout the week, he was very chatty, friendly and confident, and throughout the week Vita and Dimitri would often sit and talk with us which felt friendly and relaxed. Because Vita was unfortunately unwell on the day we had originally arranged our talk, we ended up having the presentation on our final evening. That in itself wasn’t a problem. However, what we had understood would be around 45 minutes ended up lasting more than two hours. Vita was explaining everything well, especially as they had told us she had just started and it might have been one of her first presentations, half way through out of the blue Dimitri brought other guests who had joined the programme to share their experiences before Vita had finished explaining what they offered. Eventually I asked if we could move on to the actual offer as it was our last night and we had dinner plans. By that point we had already missed the chance to spend time in the spa that afternoon as we had been told attending the presentation was part of the deal. When the offer was finally discussed it sounded like a good overall package. However it involved committing to payments of almost £600 per month for a year. We had mentioned several times during the week that we are currently renovating our house and already have significant renovation costs, so unfortunately we simply couldn’t commit to that level of monthly payment at the moment. Dimitri suggested we take an hour to think about it and later offered the option of spreading the payments over two years. While we appreciated the flexibility, I explained that financially it still wasn’t something we could commit to right now. By this point the meeting had already run so long that we missed our dinner reservation. The following morning we saw Dimitri again. We had a really enjoyable stay at Karma Bavaria and would definitely consider returning. The highlight for us was the staff. Everyone we encountered was genuinely friendly, welcoming and helpful, which made the whole stay feel very relaxed. The food in the restaurant was also excellent, with some really delicious meals during our visit. The location is fantastic, set in a beautiful area with easy access to the surrounding lakes and mountains. It’s a great base for exploring and there are plenty of scenic walks and places to visit nearby. The spa area was nice, but some parts could do with a little maintenance. We were also a bit disappointed that the spa therapist was on holiday during our stay and there wasn’t a replacement available, as treatments were something we had been looking forward to. One small thing worth mentioning is that there was a slight undertone of being encouraged to attend a membership presentation for the Karma group. It wasn’t overly pushy, but it did feel a little uncomfortable at times. Overall though, we had a lovely stay. The friendly atmosphere, great food and beautiful location made it a very enjoyable trip and we would happily return.

Stayed during winter, and there were ski slopes and hiking trails close to resort accessible by car or local train. Spacious room good facilities and helpful staff.

Beautiful experience, even if done in oncw in life. The hotel room was perfect and has all you need including a hob, microwave, sink cupboards etc. The view was Beautiful, surrounded by mountain peaks and close to local amenities and restaurants.

The swimming area and jacuzzi was fantastic, they also have a sauna and steam room but be ware people sometimes go butt naked at night so enter at your risk, might see a pair. Besides that the liesure area is perfect though they do not provide an in house masseuse which i found odd but they do provide contacts to independent suppliers who can come onsite to provide services.

There is also a game room and gym (the gym was not in service when I attended) so you might want to check it is before booking. They provide WiFi but it is not the best, we brought a laptop for movies and the signal kept dropping. Local tv had local language so was no use to me as I didn't know or understand the language.

Language barrier was not an issue as all staff and most locals spoke English as well as the native tongue. Little to no racism in the surrounding area but it's as if it can't be helped, you will find it in the tiniest parts of the world.

There is local travel as in bus services but would advise to rent a car just don't rent from budgens proper rip off.

We have had a lovely trip and have really enjoyed staying at this hotel. The staff are wonderful; polite, welcoming and helpful. The room was beautiful with everything we needed plus more. The little touches like the books and the daily 'morning post' (that told us of things to do and the weather etc) really made it. We only had dinner at the hotel once (as for personal health reasons I cannot eat a lot) but the dinner we had was lovely and I would definitely recommend it, my steak and vegetables were cooked to perfection and the staff were more than accommodating, even had a cheeky dice game at the end to try and win it for free (better luck next time for us :) ). The amenities were great - beautiful pool and great sauna and steam room. The games room was a great touch where we had a game of pool and I sat and read my book in the library. Regarding the location of the hotel its perfect - right next to the beautiful lake and great walks, plus the bus and train station is a stones throw away, we found getting into Munich and back really easy. Overall I just want to say we've had a very relaxing holiday which is what we wanted and needed and would definitely recommend this hotel ❤️
