Hotel Weinbauer in Schwangau

This is an absolutely wonderful hotel. I stayed here during August 2025 with my husband and daughter as part of a German road trip. We had come from Munich, which we very much enjoyed, but Schwangau was a nice change of pace. The village itself is absolutely stunning, set in the mountains, and the hotel is in the centre. It's a lovely building, and the lady on reception was really helpful when we first arrived, explaining where to get the bus for excursions and things like that. We had a triple/family room, as well as a small balcony that you could just about see Neuschwanstein Castle from. The room was like an Alpine lodge, with a wooden floor and wood-panelled walls, very clean and comfortable. As a hotel guest, you get given a "Schwangau visitor card", which you can add to your wallet on your phone. This is really handy and gets you free travel on the buses, including the ones that go to the castles. We found this very useful and used it to visit Neuschwanstein, as well as taking a trip to Fussen on another day. We didn't visit the hotel spa as there was so much to do in the area, but the included hotel breakfast was very nice and we loved the hotel location. It's a great location for the castles, Fussen and loads of other activities. We also enjoyed the royal spa in the village, and the castle brewery was a great place to eat and drink. If I had to criticise anything it was that it was slightly warm in the room, but that didn't spoil our enjoyment of it and we would love to return. I'd recommend it in a heartbeat ... so much nicer than staying at a chain hotel (which we almost did, in Fussen).

This was one of the best hotels we have stayed in Europe! The views of the mountain and castle were spectacular. We LOVED the room! It was super cute, functional, and clean! The breakfast was delicious and everyone was super kind. If we are ever in the area, we will definitely stay here again!

This lovely hotel is centrally located near Hohenschwangau and Neuschwanstein castles. Convenient to a grocery store and Fussen. The service here is amazing and the breakfast buffet offers many options. Be sure to checkout the restaurant!

Stay Of 2 Nights.
This Hotel leaves almost nothing to be desired. The rooms are not decorated in a modern style but high quality and large with plenty of storage space. Especially the cleanliness is first class.
The staff is remarkably friendly.
The Breakfast is rich and tasty, just warm dishes (scrambled eggs, bacon, etc.) have me a little lacking.
To emphasize the beautiful Spa area. You can have a incredibly good of the soul. With a Sauna, a steam bath, an infrared cabin in the Wellness area is similar in terms of equipment, atmosphere, relaxation factor is almost a Spa when you pay 30€ for a day.
You can eat in the in house restaurant which is not part of, however, stressed to the house and independently Good Bavarian cuisine, but not cheap.
Of the Italians to Shine with a delicious and huge pizzas for a really fair price.
Super nice area and 5 min driving time castle to Hohenschwangau/Neuschwanstein.
Can recommend the Hotel Weinbauer only!

Near a Brauhaus with good Schweinhaxe

Excellent hotel with easy access to Schloss Neuschwanstein, Schloss Hohenschwangau, Tegelberg, and not far from Fuessen. Absolutely wonderful hotel staff, extremely clean, very welcoming.

We will definitely stay here again next time we're in the area!

Only had a late lunch here, so can't comment on the accommodation. Super friendly staff and really tasty food with lots of local specialities on the menu. Slightly on the expensive side for what it is.

Very nice hotel in the small town of Schwangau. Very friendly staff. If you arrive by bus, there is a bus stop just across the street. My only complaint is, since there is no air conditioning (normal for Europe) I slept with the windows open and I could here patrons at the small Italian restaurant across the street on their patio as late as 02:00 (2:00am)

Top stay at Schwarzwald. We absolutely loved the location of the hotel and the surroundings are surreal

A good Base for your stay in Lower Bavaria and for the visits to the castles (Neuschwanstein, Hohenschwangau, and Linderhof) is for trips in the surroundings.
