Monbijou Hotel in Berlin

The best thing about Monbijou Hotel is it's location. If you enjoy walking around , it's a great place to start seeing the sites. The rooms are clean and very quiet on the courtyard side but quite small. The rooftop is very beautiful and nice to lounge around and get out of your room.The breakfast was good and well balanced.

My wife and I had a great 3 night stay here. The location is fantastic with everything you'll want to see in walking distance, but it's also directly next to a tram station and a 1 minute walk to the train station.

Our Bijou suite room was nice, but underwhelming. I was surprised and disappointed at the lack of a safe. There was also no fridge and there was no kettle either, although you could request a kettle from reception.

The service we received at the hotel was fantastic though. We arrived around 10.30pm and the gentleman behind reception was Oscar, who gave us as warm a welcome as we have had in any hotel. After we dropped our bags in the room and came back out, Oscar came over to give us some tips on where not to eat and where would be good. It's always appreciated to get a local recommendation. Everytime we saw him all weekend he would greet us like an old friends 🙂

The other wonderful service we received was from the barman, whose name I really wish I had got, but he was probably in his mid twenties if his employer is reading this. My wife and I had a wonderful first full day in Berlin walking to many wonderful tourist sites before walking in to the bar just before closing. The wonderful barman then gave us a couple of excellent tips, as we'd asked for some. He told us about the Stolpersteine and also where we could follow the line of the wall to explore the city. These two tips alone ended up being 2 of our favourite things we saw and did.

We spent nearly all our time in the former East Berlin and we loved it. The amazing history was incredibly interesting and thought provoking, and the sheer amount of beautiful architecture was a joy to wander around. The Montbijou hotel is perfectly placed to explore it all. I'd recommend it.

Great location, one elevator so take stairs down. Small but good rooms. No coffee and tea in the room but I think it's fine with this kind of hotel. Great view from the room

I stayed 17 nights at Monbijou in July-August 2025. The positives: the location, the very friendly staff at the 24x7 reception, flexible housekeeping schedules, the soundproofing of my room, a lovely library-bar, a fitness studio (sadly, I had no time to actually use the last two), a safe in every room, and an elevator that always functioned. The negatives: I was told I was being upgraded to a double room since I was staying so long, but the double room was literally pocket-sized and impossible to move in, without bumping into something. Also and this made it worse - it was DARK. DARK curtains (and no net curtains) that couldn't be left open since there would be no privacy (my room literally overlooked a terrace garden where there were gardeners and others at work, as well as other rooms) and very few tiny, dim bulbs. And a TV that didn't work but that didn't bother me much. Otherwise a great hotel. I'll definitely check in there again but ONLY if there are privacy curtains / blinds to let in natural light and lots and lots of bulbs !

we had a street view cosy room which was near the station, just that it’s next to tram and train noises at night Recommend to all!

The hotel is in an excellent location, just a five-minute walk from Museum Island, with convenient transportation and convenient eating and shopping around.
The room is small, but well-equipped and clean.
The front desk service is very enthusiastic. There is no kettle in the room, and the front desk actively helped solve it.

My second time staying there, room was better, less noisy side of the building, bigger and better bathroom, and air conditioning actually working comparing to previous time, but still was very loud so you can’t really sleep with it. Overall experience 4.5/5. Great location with many restaurants and places to visit around it.

The staff at reception and at the breakfast buffet were very friendly. Unfortunately the bar was closed. The room faced the inner courtyard and was very quiet, which is remarkable for such a central location. The room was very small and the bed very narrow. The room had everything I needed for one night.
