I was sleeping here after cancelled flight at BER airport. I was here around 12pm and fire alarm that was over my head suddenly started at 6am due to someone smoking or cooking in the room. Hotel staff couldnt locate the room it was starting in so alarm was starting over and over for another hour.
Hotel’s menu was good. We are vegetarians and stayed for two days. We did not find any problem. On its back is Müggelssee and in between tennis courts, chess board and sitting provision. I very much liked this place.
If you choose to drive there, be prepared to pay €9 a day for the luxury of leaving your car in the car park.
The rooms were, in my opinion are dated. One of our party had to ask for the bed sheets to be changed as they weren't clean. The bathroom had some damp on the ceiling the the some discoloration in spots.
The restaurant is a nice open area and the buffet breakfast provided is also nice. There is no menu option at breakfast and despite having seen other guest with menus at the weekend when we inquired about a menu during the weeknight meal we were informed there wasn't a menu. When we asked about the weekend menus our waitress informed us she didn't know about this. The only options were a buffet for €21 or a plate from the buffet for around €12. The buffet hot food, to me, tasted like frozen super market ready meals. I felt very little was freshly cooked/prepared on site. Perhaps it was reheated etc but I don't feel there was anything beyond that.
The staff were very friendly. Our rooms were cleaned every day. There is a nice bar down stairs. Wi-fi is only free in the lobby (as with most hotels). Its a dog friendly hotel (as with most hotels in Germany). Apparently there is a bowling alley there but we didn't go there as a personal choice. There is a sauna and Jacuzzi area. We didn't go there either as a personal choice as we had small children who cannot use these facilities. There's no pool.
The area is nice for walks in the woods and along the river. There is a nice beer garden and playground along the forest walk way.
It's a 4 star hotel but I've stayed in 4 star hotels before that were streets ahead but perhaps it's the way they're rated in Germany.
