Great location, close to Cologne Cathedral. The facilities are basic, almost like a hostel, with no elevator and no kettle. We booked a double room, which was a decent size. During exhibition periods, the room rates are very high, and the facilities don't match the price. However, it's fairly clean, and you can get free water, tea, and coffee downstairs. Luggage storage is also available. For business travelers with minimal needs, it's a convenient and sufficient place to stay due to its excellent transport links.

The hotel is situated at around 5 minute walk from the Train Station. We arrived the hotel by a late ICE train at night, there is no problem regarding safety or ease of access. The reception is 24 hours manned, and has a self-service drink kiosk which you find rare to be free on European budget hotel chains. Overall lovely staff and big hotel. Note this hotel has only stair access, but to be fair for the price we paid for it is totally acceptable.

Convenient location with only 5 minutes walk to the train station and the cathedral, the price is fair. The sound of trains is unavoidable if you are someone who is sensitive to the sound this might not be the best choice for your stay.

It was a wonderful stay! The room was spacious and clean. There was a table and chairs, so we could have light meals there. The front desk staff were extremely kind and listened attentively to our requests, responding thoughtfully. It's also ideal for sightseeing, being just a short walk from Central Station or Cologne Cathedral.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Everything was clean, comfortable, and well-organized, but what really made the experience special was the service.

Berk was absolutely amazing — incredibly friendly, attentive, and professional. He went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcomed and taken care of, and his warm attitude truly made a difference during our stay. You can really feel that he cares about guests.

Highly recommend this hotel, especially thanks to Berk’s outstanding service. Would definitely stay here again!

I arrived late and was told there were no rooms available, so they wanted me to go to another hotel. After a long discussion, they managed to arrange a temporary room for me. The night shift front desk staff were pretty unhelpful, but the day staff were much better and more responsible. Personally, I don't think the front desk is the problem; it's an issue with the booking channel. The hotel doesn't have an elevator, so if you have a lot of luggage, you'll have to carry it yourself. The reception in Europe is often on the ground floor (level 0), so staying on the 3rd floor means a bit of a hike with bags. I wouldn't recommend this place if you have a language barrier, a lot of luggage, or are prone to late arrivals.

Everything about the service was great. There's free hot water and coffee downstairs. It's very close to Cologne Cathedral and also to the train station. The breakfast was rich and varied, and the service was warm and friendly. Since I was on the third floor and had a large suitcase that was difficult to carry up, I left it at the front desk. The only downside is that there's no elevator, but otherwise, everything else was excellent.

The service was great and the facilities were good, clean and hygienic. I just thought it was a short walk from the main train station, but it's actually a bit of a distance.

As the name implies, it is a hostel. No lifts within the building. Room was very basic and only had one hanger for clothes. Prices were steep due to competing conventions.

At least A&O is a major chain and the staff were pleasant. Otherwise it’s very no frills so at a cheap price, it’s worth a stay. Will return if there are no other options.
