Hotel Glockengasse in Koln

Clean tooms, basic amenities, perfect location.

Very decent hotel right smack in the shopping belt. Supermarket nearby with a lot of shops and near to the Dom.

Only downside is that there is no elevator and we had to walk up 3 storeys with a couple of luggage’s.

This was a decent overnight stay. It is what it’s advertised a low budget, but clean, safe, and convenient location for a short stay in Koln. No frills, but it had everything I needed for my stay.

The cleaning was very thorough.
The building and facilities weren't particularly new, but they were well-maintained, so I had a very comfortable and clean stay.
The room also seemed larger than the hotel's official photos.
While photos often show things better than they actually are, this hotel was unusually better in person. lol
I've stayed in several hotels in Europe, and this one was by far the cleanest. Being used to the quality of cleaning in Japan, I was often disappointed in Europe, but this one was fantastic. (They even had disposable slippers, which are rare in Europe!)

There's just one thing to be aware of:
There's a chance that the front desk won't be staffed when you check in, so you'll need to call the hotel. Make sure you know this in advance.
I didn't have a phone with me when I checked in, so it didn't work out.
The staff who helped me were kind and friendly.

As long as you're careful with the check-in process, this is a great hotel, and I'll definitely stay here again if I visit Cologne again.

We were able to check in earlier than the 3:00 pm The man greeted us warmly and spoke English. He explained everything so thoroughly. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The shower was hot and had good pressure The location was perfect close to the train station. Everything was within walking distance. Excellent stay! Highly recommend!

The hotel was perfectly located for being able to walk to all Christmas markets. There were plenty of shops, restaurants and tourist attractions nearby. The room was modern with all necessities. I will stay here again if I visit Cologne.
