The hotel had a lovely relaxed feel to it and meal times were all the better for this. The food was of a high quality and varied through the week we stayed. The quality and variety of meat dishes in particular was noted
The views are gorgeous and you can take a short trip down to beach if you want to. I would highly recommend this hotel but it will cost you quite the pretty penny
The hotel is in a very scenic location, within walking distance of shops and restaurants. The number 21 bus calls directly at the hotel to take you to Chania. The service is regular and good value
The rooms need updating to a degree but are clean and have the facilities you would expect. A refresh would take the hotel to a next level. The staff were all very nice and efficient
You absolutely must book this hotel for the unforgettable panorama and the exceptionally friendly staff, who truly go above and beyond to make your stay fantastic! We stayed in a Panorama Blue room, which also gave us access to the bar and the second swimming pool
We traveled in October, so it was relatively quiet. The breakfast was excellent, and dinner was buffet-style. Not everything was perfect, but there was plenty of choice

I would especially like to mention Rena from the bar on the first floor — she truly made our stay unforgettable!
Also, a big thank you to Elena, Anna, and Ioanna, who made sure every morning at breakfast was perfect and that we had everything we needed
I highly recommend that if you are coming to Crete that you look her up. Another amazing worker is Katerina. She was great to interact with. Her upbeat attitude was amazing. I really appreciate all of the staff at Kydon
We had a fantastic time at Kydon Hotel! It’s definitely one of the best hotels we’ve stayed at so far. The location is beautiful, the staff is amazing, and everything was exceptionally clean and well-maintained
View from upper floor of the old city is stunning. Located just 5min walk from the old port which offers many restaurants and tourists shops.
Very nice breakfast with many options. Valet parking is a big plus.
She is amazing at everything she does. I really appreciate her welcoming attitude. I have never been more welcomed at any other location. Being an outsider I really appreciate being involved in her day to day
The food and service are the best! Especially Rena, who works the bar. She makes the best drinks, always has a beautiful smile to greet everyone with, and willing to be helpful to those of us not from Crete.

Guest rooms were clean and exactly what they promised, the pool side breakfast and pool area was wonderful and quiet. The meeting space was perfect and the location was so convenient, we could walk everywhere
The pool was lovely, and breakfast was delicious with a nice variety, plus it stayed open late, which was a great surprise if you want to sleep in
Because two people couldn't pass. Our balcony only had enough room for a single chair. Lobby is nice spacious with a full bar. The breakfast is ample with hot and cold choices, and you can eat poolside
We stayed here last year and when we needed another night in Chania before joining a trip it was the obvious place to come. As before, we were made very welcome at Reception as we arrived even later than we had said
The staff really stood out- they were incredibly helpful with arranging taxis and even coordinated a medical appointment for me, explaining how the process worked. That level of care made a big difference
I had a wonderful stay here! The location is perfect- you can walk to many areas, and I only needed a taxi to and from the airport. The rooms were impressively quiet; I never heard my neighbors once

The room was indeed spotless and the staff supportive and courteous. The helped with arrangements for local travel and airport transfers seamlessly.
Everything was clearly explained, with no hidden costs, which gave me real peace of mind. Having the car allowed me to explore the stunning beaches and villages of Crete at my own pace
15 minutes walk via scenic coastal route to nearest beach and restaurants. Close to venetian harbour and old town chania
The hotel's advantages included convenient car rentals, luggage storage, and inquiries. The prices were reasonable during peak season, highly recommended!
The location is ideal: the hotel is in a quiet neighborhood but still close to the Old Town and the main attractions. Having secure parking was a big plus, especially since I rented a car directly through the hotel
The building itself is beautifully maintained, and the atmosphere inside feels warm, welcoming, and truly relaxing. The staff were exceptionally friendly and professional—always ready to assist with a smile

Room new, clean, AC, fridge, great balcony overlooking town & sea. Breakfast had fantastic choice, very fresh. Great value for what was paid overall. Bus station less than 5 mins walk to go elsewhere or to/from airport
10/10 hotel
Excellent location. Room new, clean, AC, fridge, great balcony overlooking town & sea. Breakfast had fantastic choice, very fresh. Great value for what was paid overall
Great property, walkable with lots of dining options. Close proximity to beach and shopping. Public bus station less than 10 minute walk.
The hotel is conveniently located, and the rooms are very clean. Service is available 24 hours a day. The breakfast is good, with a reasonable selection and very fresh ingredients
Perfectly located hotel for a Chania City experience. Beside a great café and walking distance to the port and bus station. A very nice breakfast as part of the stay as well.
Bus station less than 5 mins walk to go elsewhere or to/from airport. Nothing to say negative, everything was perfect

When it came to parking the valet service was amazing. again our team's hours were out of the ordinary and well outside of the staff's hours. When the team lead explained, again, the staff
accommodated our needs
The location was great - nearly in the middle of Chania and within walking distance of the old town and the port. The service was great, with the staff really trying to be very helpful
Breakfast was great with lots of choice. Parking was interesting tho, but the staff helped heaps to ensure that we could arrive and leave without too much fuss. The rooms were quite roomy and the beds comfy
We stayed at Samaria Hotel for four nights as a couple with a toddler, and the experience was simply wonderful. The hotel is charming with a perfect location, everything is spotless and sparkling clean
The rooms are spacious and beautifully designed, making the stay very comfortable. Breakfast is amazing, generous, and delicious. Above all, the staff are exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and warm
Service was impeccable and thanks to Bena, Maria, Likourgos and George for their hospitality and awesome advice on things to do (and avoid). Stay in the top floor penthouse if you can

The pool was gorgeous and the sea lovely. It was easy to catch a bus into Chania in the evenings
We had a wonderful stay here! The location is absolutely fantastic—just a few minutes’ walk to a beautiful beach, and the hotel itself is right on the ocean, so the views and atmosphere are amazing
The private beach is much nicer than the photos, perfect for snorkelling, the two pools are great and all the amenities kept in great condition. It’s probably the best hotel anywhere near this price, fully recommend!
We arrived end of season with a baby and child. The weather was amazing (some days a little windy)- but due to the hotels great location we could walk to the beach within 3-4 mins or take the bus to Chania
We are a repeat customer to corinna mare suits and studios. The facility is always clean and taken good care of, there is a beach neaby 2min walk
The service and openness of all staff is spot on and we have throughly enjoyed it. Looking forward to coming back next season

They do provide beach towels for you, but I never used them (I had my own). I can’t comment on the pool because I never used it, but the garden area is lovely and well maintained
Very good city location by walking distance to the Port, Bazaar (Central) and short driving distance to the Hanya Beaches. Excellent and very warm hospitality! Good room with good-brand almost new furnished bathroom
Very expensive for what you get, rooms are adequate at best, pool is small, surrounding area to pool is tight, breakfast was good however. Location is OK, 10-15 mins into old town harbour.
It did not have the widest selection of food but still nice regardless. The bathroom was very modern and gorgeous. Although I did not request a balcony room, I still had a small balcony anyway which was nice
I would come again!
Fabulous hotel. Everyone was friendly, from the restaurant staff, the front desk staff and the cleaners. I had new towels everyday of my stay
Very special thanks to Michael, Vassilis and Alexandros from F&B Team and Anastasia from the Reception for their utmost kind and smiley care on all

This is a wonderful small hotel in the heart of Chania old town. If you choose a room with a sea view you are rewarded with a wonderful view of the Venetian Harbour
Room was comfortable and clean and the bathroom facilities were excellent. Staff are very friendly and the breakfast is highly recommended for €10. Perfect location on the port, close to all local restaurants and bars
There is no dining room which means a delightful breakfast is brought to your room at a time of your choosing with different things served each day
I realised after I had left that I had not taken my coat out of the cupboard but they kept it safe for me until I could collect 4 days later
I was very grateful for their kindness and the ease of communication (I used email)
We were lucky enough to have a roof top patio with shade as part of our suite

Exquisite hotel in the centre of the old town and port in the beautiful town of Chania. Very comfortable, light airy rooms and beautifully decorated with every attention to detail. Perfect for couples or small family
We were lucky enough to find parking nearby when we arrived, but then we didn't want to drive anywhere after that for fear of losing our parking spot. Otherwise, everything with this hotel was great!
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. We highly recommend it to anyone staying close to Old Chania.
Beautiful property and very convenient location to Old Town. I read somewhere that the property had parking, but it turned out to not have any
The room itself was stunning in design and function. Lovely oasis in the heart of Chania! My only issue was finding the place. For some reason my maps app didn’t like the link sent and I do better with Apple Maps
But I was stressed, it was getting late etc. Manager met me upon arrival and was very kind and helpful and sites to see, gave me a map etc

It was super clean and the employees were all fantastic & very friendly. The included breakfast had a lot of variety for all diets. Great location, it's across the street from the main bus station & taxis are nearby too
Overall I liked this hotel , it is basic accommodation but clean and in a great area close to the central bus station. There is no restaurant and the walk to old town is 15 minutes, however breakfast is provided
Staff were friendly and helpful with directions, also recommended places to dine
Lots of dining options for locals around the area, which I love. I'd say this hotel was a huge value
Friendly welcome with clear instructions as to how to use my key, how to get into the hotel if it was after midnight
Great hotel. Lovely staff. Most conveniently located.

We had a wonderful stay. The hotel is very close to the old town (less than 10 minute walk), but far enough that it’s quiet during the evening. The family run hotel was very welcoming. Would definitely recommend!
The hotel itself was tucked down a quiet street and the lobby was bright and modern. We spoke the owners a few times (not just at check-in) and they were very friendly and knowledgeable about the area
Excellent location walking distance and close to old town and beach area.
Parking near hotel is street only and challenging
They were always available to answer any questions I had and were eager to help in any way they could. Their kindness and willingness to assist truly made my stay exceptional
Our room was absolutely spotless and bigger than expected- the small balcony was a bonus. The bathroom was just as clean as the bedroom and the shower was powerful and hot
I was seven nights at this hotel, and it was the best vacation of my life. The room I stayed in was not only beautifully decorated but also impeccably clean

Stunning location in an old monastery courtyard. Definitely take a trip to the toilet whilst you’re here. Best toilets ever! We had lamb shank and sea bass as well as bruschetta and pork belly - every dish was delicious
Words truly cannot describe how much I loved our stay at Monastery Estate Venetian Harbor in Chania. It’s the perfect place to stay right in the heart of Old Town, surrounded by charming shops and incredible food
Everything about our stay was superb - the room, the service (morning breakfast & room cleaning) and especially the front desk personnel and their very personalized attention to our requests for information, advice and assistance
We were only in Chania for three days, but I would have gladly stayed longer just because of them. Thank you, Maria and Vaggelis, for making our honeymoon as magical as it was. We can’t wait to return one day!
We loved the private plunge pool which you can book for an hour once per day during your stay. Its not heated but super refreshing after a hot day in Chania and you can warm up in the hot tub afterwards
What truly made our experience unforgettable though, were the two concierges, Maria and Vaggelis. They were the most accommodating, kind, and genuinely sincere hotel staff I have ever encountered

However, once you locate it and go upstairs, the rooms are completely modern and beautiful. The delightful breakfasts are served on the second floor and the staff are all helpful and charming
Despite these various inconveniences, Scala de Faro is one of the nicest boutique hotels I've ever stayed in. The location is fabulous, as you can walk to most of the places you will want to visit in Chania
Be aware that it is located in the middle of the main walkway along the port (although the entrance is on the street behind the port) and can be a little difficult to find
Staff was English speaker which was really good, they were very friendly
Scala de Faro is a small, historic boutique hotel in Chania, Crete
Very beautiful design, well appointed rooms, however, no elevator, no pool, no beach. Excellent location in the heart of the Old Port but be aware of what type of room you are looking for. Very warm and helpful staff

We arrived earlier than expected and the room was already prepared for us. Great breakfast, hot and cold food with plenty of choice. Hotel is very well located for exploring Chania and would use again
A charming hotel, located in the old town part of Chania. It is in a relatively quieter part of the town, just far enough away from the main waterfront and all the lights and the hustle and bustle
Cars are not allowed on the street and you are dropped off at the foot of the hill and you will have to roll your bags up about a 100 feet. The slope is gradual Would return to this place again
A Greek breakfast is provided and the food is fresh. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Special call out to Ria at the front desk and Maria who takes care of the breakfast
The staff are amazing and made us feel at home. Our room was on the ground floor but was still quiet, despite having a window that was facing the street
Awesome Experience, staff super friendly and helpful. Although property is hundreds of years in or but the Rooftops rooms were all upgraded and clean

Some of the problems other reviews mentioned didn’t occur for us: even though our room faced the busy alleyway, we never heard much noise in the night and we personally had no issues with the reception staff as they were almost always there and willing to offer advice, recommendations, or assistance at a moment’s notice
Beautifull, stunning room, exceptional.
Location excellent.
Staff very helpful and friendly.
Breakfast amazing. Chefs so friendly and warm.
Recommemded for any traveller.
The real Greece experience.
10/10
Loved it.
This is a GREAT property, staff was very welcoming and I highly recommend it for anyone traveling to Chania, select a room with a balcony…that was the perfect beginning of every day
The whole experience was amazing from the room to the staff to the breakfast The location was great roof deck a pleasant surprise. Definitely recommend this hotel highly
The only thing that didn’t rate outstanding to me was the comfort of the sheets, they were rougher than I prefer
Excellent location: right by the sea and city center
The room environment is comfortable and well-equipped
The boss is very enthusiastic

Staff accommodated my need to stay an additional night and let me stay in the same sea view room.
Also, the hotel is two blocks from the beach. Very convenient for a swim.
The breakfast options were plentiful and a little different each day. We booked a sauna/jacuzzi, which was wonderful. An easy walk to the water, the beach, wonderful view from our room. Would definitely stay here again
Clean, good condition and friendly staff. The location is very central but at the same time quiet. We went during the low season so might have been lucky regarding that as well
Very hospitable place, worth every euro you spend. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The small swimming pool is perfect for winding down your day
I had a wonderful experience at the hotel. I stayed for 4 nights, with the last night in the suite. The rooms were spacious, well-equipped, and kept spotless thanks to frequent cleaning
A nice hotel with a pool and SPA near old town Chania with a nice breakfast buffet. You can walk to the old town along the sea. There was a welcome cocktail for every guest. We had a nice stay there for three nights.

Stayed at this hotel for a couple of nights in mid-September before moving down to the south coast. It had been booked for many months as we wanted to secure a nice sea view room having never visited Chania town before
Our go-to hotel for stays in Chania; well maintained hotel with comfortable clean rooms, friendly staff and an excellent breakfast service with eggs etc cooked to order as well as an excellent cold buffet selection.
Loved out hotel room and balcony. Great views of the sea and bay. Many things within a short walk.
It is easy walking distance to interesting areas of this beautiful town. The staff goes over and above to please the visitors. Friendly bar tender and the included breakfast was delicious
Had a wonderful stay at Porto Veneziano. I had booked a sea view double room with balcony and was upgraded to a suite which was absolutely amazing
I got the single room though, so keep that in mind. Hotel was in a great location 5-10 min walk to main part of the old town and right on the old harbor(obviously) would definitely stay there if I go back to Chania!

During my recent stay at Hotel Danaos, I was charmed by its perfect beachfront location—just steps from Nea Chora Beach, and within a leisurely 15‑minute walk along the sea to Chania’s historic Venetian harbour and downtown
The stunning sea views from the balconies were the ideal backdrop to sip morning coffee or unwind at sunset
Very Good
This place was had one of the best beach views i ever seen, its easy for walking around and explore resturants. Food is great and so are the prices for food and drinks
Stayed only one night, it was a very nice and comfortable stay
Very friendly reception staff, comfy bef

Since our next destination was Santorini by boat from Crete, which could only depart from Heraklion port, we opted to take a boat from Athens to Chania first, and then a bus from Chania to Heraklion
The facilities were quite good, and any minor issues we raised were quickly resolved. The front desk staff were also very helpful in providing information about various places in the surrounding area
Crete has two main cities: Heraklion, the cradle of Western civilization, and Chania (also known as Chania), a city repeatedly invaded by other empires
Considering we'd be traveling by bus for the next two days, we chose this hotel close to the Chania Bus Station, less than 400 meters away
They have very friendly staff. Very clean and very relaxing place 😌 you can talk with them and take more suggestions to visit. Highly recommended.
Comfy rooms with no noise. Staff very friendly and helpful! Great location! 5 mins walk from coach station and 10 from the old town,
