I spent 6 nights in this nice hotel in early September 2025. It is greatly located at the heart of Chania Old City. The room was very spatious with a big terrace. The owner and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. I hope to come back again.

We were given a maisonette suite in another building which is fine except that it smelt so damp and fousty, was very dark, bathroom downstairs, bedroom upstairs. Totally knackered mattress and a bed sheet laid on top that didnt fit or meet the sides. Water in the fridge was chargeable (this was handed out free absolutely everywhere else in Crete). I wish we hadnt booked for two nights, I really didnt like it. On the Sunday morning afterarriving very late on Saturday night, we were entertained from a loud speaker on the wall outside our bedroom for three hours with a church service belting out prayer chanting at full volume! It was utterly unbearable! The icing on the cake was the breakfast. It was taken in their coffee shop but the quality of the food and coffee was awful. I asked for a proper coffee as they had a coffee machine behind the counter - I was told this would be extra as only the coloured hot water passing off for coffee was included. We didnt bother with the breakfast on the second day - there was a really nice coffee shop opposite with wonderful fresh croissants. I have no idea how this ‘boutique’ hotel has four stars but I did notice quite a few reviews for the coffee shop which may have bumped it up. This is most definitely not how I would describe a boutique hotel.

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights in November. Our room smelled like no one had stayed there for quite a while - very musty. The living room was very cold and sparsely decorated with very upright furniture which felt like it had a thin layer of sand on it. Because you have to throw your TP in the garbage as opposed to in the toilet, we were surprised when we were asked if we wanted our room cleaned. We said yes please! Only to come back to see that, while they did empty the garbage, they did not even make the beds. They did not bother to clean the room all 3 days (except emptying the garbage). I think we were the only people in the hotel too. The owners were hanging out in the lobby area all day, but did not appear to be doing anything. Aside from the location, iI cannot recommend this place.

I can’t speak for the hotel as I’ve only used their restaurant. You can see from my photo how shocking the meal was. Dry, bland, lacking in any taste. Fried egg on dry bread, chips, salami sausage and a cold side of tinned kidney beans. It was horrific, everywhere I’ve been to in Chania has had brilliant food and this establishment has let the town down.

I have visited with friends for one week between 6th September till 12th. We booked the triple room. This hotel is extremely poor and extremely expensive for what it offers. First of all, the room stunk of mould. There is no storage in the room. I wanted to hung some clothes in the waredrobe but it stunk of mould and there was no room in it as it was full of bedding. The bathroom is poor and the shower unit leaks so everytime you have a shower the bathroom floods. There is a small kitchenette and there is hardly any equipment and no kettle for making a tea/coffee. The beds were extremely uncomfortable. My friends stayed on the double bed which was just about comfortable but the other two had the following problems: -the single bed was extremely hard that the first night I slept on it I woke up with pain in my neck. -the second night I attempted to use the sofa bed but the springs made an extremely loud noise that woke me up everytime I turned and woke my friends up. There is also a wooden door separating one room to another and I could hear everything the other guests were saying or doing so there was no acoustic isolation between the two rooms. At the time of booking they did not communicate that the rooms were cleaned only once every three days instead of every day which would be a standard service for a four star boutique hotel. Staff is extremely stingy. I asked for an extra coffee at breakfast and they said I would get charged for it. When I pointed out all of the above issues to the staff at reception but they did the minimum to rectify these problems. One of the staff member even came to try the beds upstairs and confessed that they were uncomfortable. He also smelled the waredrobe and agreed that it stunk. They placed a douvet on top of the hard single bed which made the situation a little bit better but made me sweat at night. When I asked for the rooms to be cleaned everyday they became all defensive and pointed out that there is a notice behind the door that tells you that the rooms are cleaned every three days…. They don’t tell you this at the time of booking. They did start cleaning the room everyday but could tell that it wasn’t done professionally and was done by themselves. I asked for some money compensation and they said I would only get €300 back only if I left the hotel and went to another one. We paid a LOT of money to stay in that rubbish hotel. Extremely unhappy, they steal money from people as we were extremely uncomfortable for the whole week. I wouldn’t normally leave a negative review but this was extremely appalling and I really feel robbed. Avoid!!!!

- We had to pay extra 25 euro because we arrived the hotell after midnight. First time in history.

A quaint hotel, converted from a very old townhouse. Very well located in Chania Old Town. Room adequately equipped and bed very comfortable. A/C worked well. Breakfast formula was quite good, but little variety from day to day. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Website designer deserves an award for accentuating the positives of a less than luxurious hotel.
