Elma's Dream Apartments & Villas in Kato Daratso

Ten years ago this quickly became our annual holiday destination. The location is perfect to visit local attractions or simply walk to the beach and relax. Everything you would need is nearby, yet you are away from the noise. Regardless of room type, they are a terrific value. We have stayed in a variety of rooms and each one has been spacious, clean, and comfortable. The home cooked meals, gathering area, balconies, and pool are all things we look forward to each year. This family run business provides a homelike atmosphere and top notch service. We have met many guests throughout the years and everyone mentions how they felt that they are treated as the most important guest. Always receiving a warm welcome and a heartfelt goodbye. Every year they go out of their way to insure we have a wonderful stay, and every year they succeed. We cannot wait to return in 2026. Chris & Georgia

Staff was very kind and helpful. Location was pefrwct and our room neat and pretty. We really enjoyed our stay. Not noisy and the hotel was cozy.

Location is great, SO close to Golden Beach, also walking distance from other beaches and beach kiosks. There's a mini market behind the accomodation, and a bus stop across to the road to go into town. The rooms are simple but very clean, plenty of storage and space. They have everything you need! The room also feels very secure which is great. One of us (female) was there for 2 night solo and felt very comfortable. The pool is clean and gets loads of sun. The team that run the apartments are the loveliest family - super friendly and welcoming. Super quiet which was great for relaxing. Great value!

A wonderful hotel! This was our second year in a row there and we already booked the same room for next year :) Super close to a great beach, excellent restaurants nearby by foot and of course even more by car. Also multiple supermarkets within walking distance and quick access to the city center by bus if you need it.

Charming, family-run accommodation with a nice pool, and an incredibly friendly and helpful host in Andreas. Very close to a lovely beach (you can borrow parasols, beach chairs), quiet at night, and on a bus route which can take you east into Chania town, or west to visit other beaches.

We stayed in a spacious apartment with a kitchen, living room, and bedroom. Everything was spotlessly clean and fully equipped with everything you could possibly need. The property has a lovely pool and a bar, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The location is fantastic—just a one-minute walk from the beach. Our host, Andreas, was amazing! He shared tips about historical landmarks and gave us lots of useful information about Chania. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay!

Lovely little place. Something else than big hotel chains. Cozy and clean flats. Great owner, funny and helpful. Pool area is nice. Near the beach and supermarket. Hania is also near.

We (two adults and a child, 9) had a wonderful stay at Elma's Dream. The location is great, just a few minutes walk to the beach, quality restaurants and bus stops. The apartment was very clean, airy and contained everything we needed for a self-catering break, including a well equipped kitchen, a good array of pots/pans/crockery and utensils. Wash liquid, cloths and tea towel were provided. A good kettle and toaster were provided - again, spotlessly clean. The shower was great and quality hand/bath towels were supplied. Beds were very comfortable. The A/C units (which looked new) worked brilliantly and were much appreciated. The WiFi signal was superb. The pool was not crowded during our stay. It was quiet and relaxing allowing our daughter to enjoy the diving board at her leisure, with both sun loungers and table sets available within close proximity. Elma's Dream is a relatively small (15 or so rooms) family run establishment with Andreas and Majken at the heart of it, working hard to make guests welcome and ensure they are well catered for. There's no pretence, which was refreshing. We experienced warmth, kindness and personal service from the outset, noting signature 'little details' that made our holiday all the better. It was no surprise to meet several parties (couples and families) who return to Elma's Dream year after year and in all honesty, we rather expect to do the same.

Elma’s dream is a very beautiful place, with a very beautiful family. The apartment was so nice. The swimming pool is so cool and the trampoline was so funny. Andreas and Lucas are very funny and welcoming. The sea was close and when the sea is rough it's a lot of fun. Hercules is very cute and wants lots of cuddles. Rocky it’s also so cute but he is a little diffident. We had a great time.

Family friendly place with great service from helpful owners. Central location with min walking from the nearest beach. Several other beaches within walking distance. Easy access to Chania by bus or a 25 min walking along the beach . Grocery stores, restaurants and bars nearby.
