There were lots of ants about on the steps near the rooms and occasionally on the patio. The pools were cold at first but once you got in and over the initial shock you adjusted. Shower in the room was powerful

Hairdryer was awful,couldn't control the temperature and it kept cutting out. Took me 5 attempts to dry my hair every night. Rooms could do with an update of furniture but this did not hinder our stay at all

The sea-view rooms are spacious and have a kitchenette. Their terraces open onto the hotel's beach or a small fishing port. There are also rooms overlooking the pools or the main road or in quieter corners of the hotel

We were moved from the village resort to the beach resort due to being under subscribed at the end of the season

Hotel guests also have access to a moderately equipped fitness room and a spa area available for a fee. We spent a very pleasant week in the off-season at the hotel

We were worried as we booked there for the water park but on jet 2 looking into it they were keeping the park open with the rest of the resort shutting

Fine print though states both resorts have to pay extra for the water park at €15 per person

The staff is polite, helpful, and friendly. The service includes breakfast and all-inclusive. The breakfast buffet offers a range of dishes in line with general European trends, supplemented by a few Greek specialties

The main point - food was absolutely amazing! There was nothing we didn’t like and we are picky eaters. Loads of choices from meat, fish, veggie, and seasoned perfectly. The local corner was our favourite

We’ve searched for this year holiday for 6 months because one bad review put us off. But decided to spend this year at Caldera and that was the best decision ever

We got the room at the lowest ground which was a bit dark but travelling with a toddler was very handy as we weren’t woken up at the sunrise 😅 and the bushes around the balcony (we complained about them at first) turned out to be very handy at evenings when we sat there during heavy wind

When we landed at the hotel there was an issue with our room so we got moved to the sister hotel over the road for one night which was fine, then they gave us a free massage and late check out also for the inconvenience which wasn't really an issue

We also got use of both hotels bars and restaurants, this was great as we didn't even complain about anything. The massage was fantastic, the food was unbelievable such a massive amount of selections

We got a bus for 20mins about 2euro each to old town and the harbour was beautiful 😍 The rooms were deep cleaned daily which was great 👍 the staff were all pleasant. Overall I'd go back yes but want to try more places

Our room had a nice view to the main swimming pool, with the sea in the background. We received a complimentary wine bottle at checkin. There was always nice live music playing somewhere every evening

Since not everything is perfect, towards the end of our stay, the room next door got occupied and I could hear them being intimate, so thin the walls are! The cleaning lady filled the shower gel container with water, and did not refill the lotion

Good overall, well managed but has some are Good overall. We stayed in an imperial room on the beach side of the hotel. Very good facilities overall, but some of the rooms need to be updated and soundproofed

This is one of the best hotels I have stayed at. They have for sure the nicest staff ever. So accommodating. Great food the breakfast buffet is so so good. Definitely will come back and recommend highly.

The resort grounds are very beautiful! The beach area is nicely kept, from there you can see breathtaking sunrises & sunsets

We were there at the end of the season and always found parking ok and loads of sun beds around the pool and on the beach. Beach is nice, shingle rather than sand. Entertainment in the evening very good

Local area is no doubt very busy in the high season, but many shops and restaurants had started to close while we were there

From the lady that checked us in and helped me with the birthday cake for my husband, the entire front desk , the breakfast team (I think the manager name is Nikólaos), the pool staff the Spa ladies really really did above and beyond in every aspect (I'm really sorry that I don't remember more names )!! The house keeping was top notch, out room was always spotlessly clean

This is a great hotel in a great area! The neighborhood has a market across the street, and several shops and restaurants in a 5-10 minute walk. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and have great A/C

Nice place near the beautiful small beach. Mixed dips and olives tastes great. Perfect for sharing as it is a big portion. For the main course I ordered Grilled Sea Bass Fillet and it was so delicious

The staff were very helpful with any questions i had. I was able to get a parking spot every night. Pretty good restaurants within walking distance. The breakfast buffet was nice

Fabulous family-owned hotel by the beach in Platanias with spacious apartments with balconies towards the sea, superb swimming pool, gym and delicious food

We loved our stay at Blue Dome. We traveled with kids and we had a see view apartment with big rooms, extensible sofas, big comfortable bed and a kitchenette. The rooms are very well isolated, clean and spacious

Stayed here first two weeks in June. Absolutely first class accommodation literally steps away from the beach. The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough to make our stay a very enjoyable one. Highly recommend 👌

At the pool area is also a small pool for children (40 cm). The hotel is on the beach but close to main street with shops and restaurants, also there are free parking slots

The restaurant is nice: great greek salad and tzatziki ( best tried from Platanias)

We stayed at the Indigo Mare Hotel in Platania, Crete from 16-23. The hotel is classified as a three-star hotel on websites. Considering that classification, the hotel as a whole is excellent

The hotel is on the beach and it is nice to enjoy food and refreshments in the beach restaurant and sunny moments by the pool. The breakfast was plentiful and everyone will surely find something to eat and drink

The bar is right on the beach, plays soft music, the personnel super friendly and knowledgeable, and best of all, at sunset, you and your drink, are alone on that long beautiful beach

We stayed at the beach and paid 8e for two sunbeds and umbrella and even received two small bottles of water. You could also use the pool as a guest

Staying there was nice. The hotel is near bus stations and close to department stores. It’s not too far away from Chania (5 to 10 min in bus and taxi)

Chania city center and old center is about 15 min by car, but also shops and restaurants in the surroundings, not necessarily to go in the center

We went out every night as no entertainment past 9pm. This hotel is not suitable for teenagers or younger groups as not much around or going on. It is a 10 min walk to bars and restaurants which is perfect

Went her with my family in July 2025 and the hotel did not disappoint. They did try to put us in a family room even though we had booked to separate hotel rooms but that was sorted out after the first night

The hotel has its own parking and has plenty of restaurants nearby, beachfront as well as in the main street. The host is very friendly, he offered a lot of valuable suggestions for spending time around the island

This hotel has a wonderful position overlooking the sea, you can enjoy breakfast in peace on the beautiful terrace, beautifully arranged, dinner also with spectacular views of the sunset

Suprisingly amazing! I went here with low expectations but I was wowed. The room: 10/10 big, spacey, bathtub, air conditioner, kitchenette, terrace, comfy beds. Interior decoration really shines Cretan culture

The beach: 9/10 it’s a beachfront hotel 🏨 It’s a Sandy beach and the ocean is clean, no plastics. Also nice to not have to worry about rocks. Location: 9/10 restaurants and stores galore on the Main Street
