We recently stayed at this hotel and, sadly, our experience was not quite what we had hoped for. Although the surroundings were pleasant enough, the overall cleanliness left rather a lot to be desired. We were surprised to find ants in the bed and even some small worms in the bathroom — not exactly what one hopes for on holiday.

The food, too, was somewhat disappointing. It lacked freshness and flavour, and we often found ourselves wishing we had ventured elsewhere for our meals.

Organisation-wise, things could also be improved. If you are travelling with TUI, do be aware that relying on their transfer back to the airport may not be the wisest idea. The number of stops planned for other hotels means that, should you depend on their schedule, there’s a very real risk of missing your flight altogether. Unfortunately, the organisation felt a little careless at times.

All in all, it was not the most comfortable or well-managed stay. If you’re planning a holiday in this area, I would warmly suggest choosing a hotel in Plakias instead — you’ll be right in the heart of the town, with far more to enjoy and, hopefully, a rather smoother experience overall.

The hotel boasts a stunning location, blending naturally into the surrounding mountains right on the seashore. Relaxing by the pool, you can enjoy the surf. Three pools offer plenty of choice, along with a picturesque beach and stunning views. The hotel grounds are quiet and peaceful, with plenty of flowers and palm trees, ensuring nothing distracts you from enjoying the surrounding beauty. Shallow beaches in beautiful bays and other interesting places to visit are a 10-15-minute drive away. The staff was friendly and helpful, the food was excellent, offering a selection of traditional Greek dishes, as well as fish and several meat options daily, delicious desserts, a selection of salads, and several types of cheese. Drinks included three types of young wine, local beer, and cocktails mixed for you by the bartender. All rooms are surrounded by beautiful flowers and palm trees and have a separate entrance, ensuring privacy. The bathroom fixtures were a bit worn, but everything worked properly, and the lovely ladies cleaned daily. Please note: if you're looking for luxury and are picky about drinks, food, and other household details, as well as noisy discos and entertainment, pay three times more and choose a modern resort. This hotel is for those who appreciate being at one with nature, incredible views, the sound of the sea, and are willing to explore the numerous bays nearby. We found everything we wanted here and definitely recommend it.

Firstly, disregard anyones reviews with 3⭐ or less as they are whiney Karens, unfortunate for their loved ones.

For the price this place is unreal with some of the best snorkeling 🤿, scuba and sunrise/sunsets imaginable. Beautiful little hikes with an amazing beach one direction, and beach village the other, both only 7mins away. Staff was great, you can see everyone including pool maintenance and cleaners are happy with their jobs. that says a lot.

Speaking with the staff many of the minor issues aforementioned in previous reviews will be rectified this winter. I hope come spring this will appease the Karens, but I doubt it though as they would find a way to complain if they won the lottery.

I am currently staying at this resort and this is my second time solo holidaying. I am having the most wonderful time, the staff are kind and friendly, the scenery is breathtaking and I have no complaints. The pools are very nice although some of the sunbeds need an upgrade I’ve not had an issue to find one. The little cove beach is beautiful and really handy right there. The food is nice, I’m not fussy anyway but feel there is a large selection. The room is a room to me, I never need anything fancy however mine came with a bath which I am very happy about. I’ve had one issue which was no plug for my bath which was soon fixed within the matter of half an hour. If you’re looking for relaxation like me, this is place. I would come again and bring my partner next time. Ps, there’s cats everywhere and it truly makes the place 10:10 for me

Place falls apart. They charge for alcohol on all-inclusive in main bar(only pool bar doesn't)... free spa not exist in this place.

Wonderful first solo holiday. Staff were so welcoming and changed my room for me due to back issues. Room was basic though very clean and comfortable. Only thing missing were coffee making facilities. Would come back in a heartbeat. Recommended.

We stayed at Kalypso Cretan Village Resort & Spa in Plakias, Crete for 10 days in September 2025, and I can honestly say it was one of the most distressing holidays we’ve ever had. Let’s start with the “all-inclusive” package. It was anything but. The pool bar shuts at 7pm, no biggy - BUT the evening main bar isn’t included. The hotel ‘generously’ applies a supposed 40% discount until 10pm - though this doesn’t mean the drinks are cheap. And beach bar is completely excluded. None of this is mentioned in the booking description, which feels like blatant false advertising. We ended up paying for taxis into town every night just to get a decent meal, as the food on-site was subpar - recycled dishes from the night before, uncovered and swarmed by flies and wasps. But the real horror was our room. Now, before I get onto the flooding - be warned, the rooms are basic. Features include stained floor, broken tiles, and furniture that show signs it’s been exposed to previous flooding. While we can quite happily put aesthetics aside - because let’s face it, you’re hardly ever in the room - health and safety is another matter. A few days in, sewage water backed up through the bathroom floor drain. Reception handed us a towel to ‘deal with it’. It happened again, and we had to ask for a mop ourselves. We requested a room change and were told they were fully booked but would get a plumber in. We were then told the issue was resolved - and in case you didn’t guess, the flooding continued. We tried to speak to the manager multiple times, but he was always “unavailable.” When we finally found him, his response was “Such is life.” No apology, no urgency, no concern for health risks. The flooding worsened, spreading into the main room. Staff claimed we’d refused a room change, which couldn’t be further from the truth. We were shouted at by both the reception and general manager when we raised concerns. Eventually, someone came to clean - leaving the dirty mop and a bucket of dirty water in our room. We were then told we could move rooms the next morning, but upon arriving at reception, we were told once again they were fully booked. We were finally moved at 6pm the next day, after hours of confusion and contradictory information from staff. We documented everything - photos, videos, and audio recordings of contradictory conversations with staff. We did this because, by flooding incident no 2; and the clear indifference of the staff - we knew we’d need evidence to share with our holiday provider. On checkout, other guests were also complaining about flooding, confirming this is a recurring issue. Two members of hotel staff also told us it flooding was a problem - leaving us wondering why they knowingly put paying customers in those dangerous and disgusting rooms. This was not just a disappointing holiday - it was unsafe, unhygienic, and emotionally exhausting. The lack of empathy and professionalism from the managers was staggering. We expec

Staff was great we enjoyed the food I think the main draw back was it’s a very popular spot on hot days and there isn’t designated parking for people staying at the resort, so sometimes when we would come back it was really hard to find a parking spot

The hotel is in need of serious refurbishing. The rooms are spacious and offer amenities such as a small kitchen, a tv, a hairdryer (very old) and enough storage space. There was a rather weird construction done in the bathroom in order to build an additional shower outside the bathtub. Bathroom has no real ventilation and ac in the room was leaking.
What is truly great about this hotel is the location and the ambience it once had. The garden and beach area needs to be taken care of, it looks old and forgotten. Beach bar was not open within advertised opening hours. Breakfast area is large but there is no ac in the inside venue and outside there are flies and wasps.
Food selection for breakfast is good but coffee was very bad. The lady at reception was nice. There was evening entertainment in the form of karaoke.
