When they found out it’s my son’s birthday they made him a birthday cake and all restaurant staff , including managers sing him happy birthday song during evening meal. I can’t recommend this place enough

We had a wonderful two weeks here, the staff were very nice and friendly. In the evening at the bar, the barMichalis and Jivka served us delicious drinks. I would recommend this experience to others. :)

We visited as a family of 3,our son is 12. All the staff were extremely friendly,always had a smile and couldn't do enough for you

The sea-view rooms are spacious and have a kitchenette. Their terraces open onto the hotel's beach or a small fishing port. There are also rooms overlooking the pools or the main road or in quieter corners of the hotel

Unfortunately, hotel guests "reserve" the sunbeds in the morning, so it often happened that although there was no one in the pools and around them, we still couldn't find a free sunbed

The breathtaking views, the soothing sound of the waves, and the beautiful sunsets that paint the sky over Platanias beach create a serene backdrop that has been the setting for countless family moments

Large resort hotel in Platanias village right next to the beach. The hotel is spread over a huge area, with many room types to choose from in several buildings

Pools are very cold apart from one which is heated. Beach is on the doorstep but you have to pay for the beds and drinks. If you’re a white wine drinker, find something else, it’s not nice

We were moved from the village resort to the beach resort due to being under subscribed at the end of the season

The bars were good 👍 all inclusive drinks however do seem a little watered down but hey ho saved a bad head the next day. The beach is literally next to the pool and was great for sunbathing and snorkeling

We’ve searched for this year holiday for 6 months because one bad review put us off. But decided to spend this year at Caldera and that was the best decision ever

The main point - food was absolutely amazing! There was nothing we didn’t like and we are picky eaters. Loads of choices from meat, fish, veggie, and seasoned perfectly. The local corner was our favourite

We got the room at the lowest ground which was a bit dark but travelling with a toddler was very handy as we weren’t woken up at the sunrise 😅 and the bushes around the balcony (we complained about them at first) turned out to be very handy at evenings when we sat there during heavy wind

When we landed at the hotel there was an issue with our room so we got moved to the sister hotel over the road for one night which was fine, then they gave us a free massage and late check out also for the inconvenience which wasn't really an issue

We still could enjoy the quiet evening there without freezing. Rooms are fully equipped with toaster, coffee maker fridge freezer and table for 4 ppl. Room was cleaned every day with fresh towels

Good overall, well managed but has some are Good overall. We stayed in an imperial room on the beach side of the hotel. Very good facilities overall, but some of the rooms need to be updated and soundproofed

This is one of the best hotels I have stayed at. They have for sure the nicest staff ever. So accommodating. Great food the breakfast buffet is so so good. Definitely will come back and recommend highly.

The one thing that was the biggest miss for us was inconsistency of service from hotel staff. Some are really great, friendly, and proactive, especially the cleaning staff

Great attitude, service, and helped to solve problems. The manager also called us at the end of the day to check if everything was all right

But others seemed to have an attitude and a scowl on their face when serving you

This hotel mostly is for vacation at the pool. This hotel have 2 pools and close by acces to the beach. If you book this hotel be ready to pay extra for AC 12 € per night. Pay extra for beach sunbed 8€ per bed

But got much more than we thougt we would! The Hotel appers new, located pretty much on a nice beach, very clean rooms, a cute plungepool, and a staff that really made our stay a plesant experience

Our stay was wonderfully quiet and relaxing. The private swimming pool was amazing and the whole place felt peaceful. Both the room and shared spaces were very clean

Marika is right next to the beach which is amazing. What could be better than start your day with good breakfast and ocean view

The hotel area is really welcoming, clean and modern. Rooms have enough space and you don’t have to wonder where to put all your stuff when traveling with a friend or family

And about the staff… I could talk about the staff forever! Everyone are so nice, warm and always trying to make your day even better

We were there at the end of the season and always found parking ok and loads of sun beds around the pool and on the beach. Beach is nice, shingle rather than sand. Entertainment in the evening very good

Local area is no doubt very busy in the high season, but many shops and restaurants had started to close while we were there

We enjoyed the Thalassa Beach hotel, especially the pool and the beach lounge chairs. It was nice that there were always beach chairs available

We loved the place, peaceful and close to everything you might need: restaurant, supermarket, beach. Fantastic experience , we loved our balcony for breakfast and after dinner drinks.

The apartments is located near the best child-friendly beach around Chania and it is only a 5-min walk to it. The beach has shallow waters, only small waves, shade from the sun because of the trees near it

The place was super ,super quiet, which I loved. The rooms were cozy and nice, and the surroundings were pleasant. Overall, I had a great time and would definitely recommend it to others!!!!

A family of 2 parents, a super active toddler and two grandparents felt very welcomed at Zinovia apartments. We rented two studio apartments and enjoyed a 7 days stay

The cleanliness extends also to the kitchen, which has well kept and good quality pans & pots, all you need for small meals to be cooked for a child. And the sandwich-maker saved the day so often

At the pool area is also a small pool for children (40 cm). The hotel is on the beach but close to main street with shops and restaurants, also there are free parking slots

The hotel is located at the beach, with a private pool close to the bar. The staff was absolutely amazing and super kind. The only "drawback" was that the poolbar was a little bit expensive

Only negatives is the fact that there are very limited sunbeds and one morning at breakfast we were completely forgotten about and didn’t receive service until 30 minutes after we had been seated

Stayed here first two weeks in June. Absolutely first class accommodation literally steps away from the beach. The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough to make our stay a very enjoyable one. Highly recommend 👌

Nice hotel, excellent placed by the sea. Only missed aircon in the gym, otherwise everything was perfectly fittet for a couples vacation, or a family trip with older children as well

The hotel is on the beach and it is nice to enjoy food and refreshments in the beach restaurant and sunny moments by the pool. The breakfast was plentiful and everyone will surely find something to eat and drink

We didn't stay here but hired some sunbeds & umbrellas on the beach (€8 per set). The loungers were comfy and the umbrella provided good shade. The waiter was friendly, helpful and efficient

The bar is right on the beach, plays soft music, the personnel super friendly and knowledgeable, and best of all, at sunset, you and your drink, are alone on that long beautiful beach

We stayed at the Indigo Mare Hotel in Platania, Crete from 16-23. The hotel is classified as a three-star hotel on websites. Considering that classification, the hotel as a whole is excellent

We had a great holiday at Althea Village this summer. It was our first holiday with our daughter which was 7 months old and the hotel felt perfect for us

But not only the family,also the location is perfect,just 5 minutes walk from the beach,accross the road 2 great restaurants (Angelo and Oreganos), but you can also have great snacks at the hotel bar next to the swimming pool

A nice place to stay. Nothing fancy, but clean and a nice pool. The staff was especially friendly and helpful. There were two good restaurants right across the street. About a three or four block walk to the beach.

Unfortunately at the pool there was a group of young boys taking up the place by playing on air mattresses and ball and making disturbance for the other guests, owner Dina went to the pool and told them to leave! We appreciate that she took the ownership when the mothers of the young men didn’t :) Hope to come back

Lots of good local restaurants, the nicest overlooking the sea or a little way up in the hills behind. Dimitri, our very helpful and friendly host, made some useful recommendations

Great location, right on the beach, with stores and restaurants in walking distance. The room was very clean, recently updated and with all the amenities one needs in a holiday

We didn't use it as we always prefer the beach, that's a personal choice. We were treated very well by the staff and it was nice and quiet. We were satisfied with the price and what we got for it aswell

5 minutes from the beach. 6 minute bus ride or a 40 minute Wallin along the beach to get to Chania Old Town - location was great for us.

In summary, we had a taste of Greek hospitality where the communication is like talking to distant family members. The location is 10 mins away from Chania with a car, 15 with a bus and 35 by walking

The beaches nearby were probably the best we saw near Chania and there are several good taverns. The pool was big enough and there's plenty of sunbeds around. The garden is massive and very well maintained

U could take the bus to get everywhere, bit to Chania City we always took a Taxi, it’s about 10 mins drive and costs only 10€! We really loved the Pool area and we highly recommend the Pizza at the Poolbar! It was better than the ones u get in the pizza places :D (-) We would’ve liked some Pingpong/Pool Table at the Pool area !

The beach: 9/10 it’s a beachfront hotel 🏨 It’s a Sandy beach and the ocean is clean, no plastics. Also nice to not have to worry about rocks. Location: 9/10 restaurants and stores galore on the Main Street

The room is very nice and well maintained. The proximity is very close to the seaside. There are showers situated near the rooms to ensure you can clean yourself off before heading into the room

This hotel has a wonderful position overlooking the sea, you can enjoy breakfast in peace on the beautiful terrace, beautifully arranged, dinner also with spectacular views of the sunset

The pool: 8/10 not the biggest pool in the region but it is sexy with its boutique style wooden floors on the side and vegetation wall

An excentelly positioned apartment hotel for both the beach and shops and restaurants.

Unforgettable memories! It was one of the first and few apartments for rent in Platanias believe it or not! Of course much has changed but having come now as a mid 40s something, it is still a gorgeous place and more suitable for a quiet and independent traveler audience who don't like big resort type places
