The hotel was extremely safe other than that and it was fine to leave belongings. Right next to the beach it was a few steps away so great for sunset pictures. Overall an amazing holiday I loved it so much, thank you

We just returned from a week holiday and we had a wonderful time at this hotel. I would definitely recommend this hotel

The hotel had a very chill vibe, good entertainment but very child focused- but separate from bars so we just stayed at the bar and played uno it was lovely!! There was not many teenagers so hard for the kids to make friends- it’s not a friend making hotel

We were moved from the village resort to the beach resort due to being under subscribed at the end of the season

The hotel itself is centrally located in Platanias, and close to bus stops, they have several pools and direct access to the beach. The food at the hotel is quite good and varied, there was always something to eat

The sea-view rooms are spacious and have a kitchenette. Their terraces open onto the hotel's beach or a small fishing port. There are also rooms overlooking the pools or the main road or in quieter corners of the hotel

Unfortunately, hotel guests "reserve" the sunbeds in the morning, so it often happened that although there was no one in the pools and around them, we still couldn't find a free sunbed

There was often a queue at the AI ​​bar, as there was only one person to serve the guests. You could also get food for breakfast and lunch at the pool bar. Very helpful staff in both the restaurant, bar and reception

Hotel guests also have access to a moderately equipped fitness room and a spa area available for a fee. We spent a very pleasant week in the off-season at the hotel

Good overall, well managed but has some are Good overall. We stayed in an imperial room on the beach side of the hotel. Very good facilities overall, but some of the rooms need to be updated and soundproofed

This is one of the best hotels I have stayed at. They have for sure the nicest staff ever. So accommodating. Great food the breakfast buffet is so so good. Definitely will come back and recommend highly.

The one thing that was the biggest miss for us was inconsistency of service from hotel staff. Some are really great, friendly, and proactive, especially the cleaning staff

Great attitude, service, and helped to solve problems. The manager also called us at the end of the day to check if everything was all right

But others seemed to have an attitude and a scowl on their face when serving you

Peaceful location on a beautiful sandy beach, just off the busy main road. Agia Marina is a few miles west of Hania with frequent buses

Lots of good local restaurants, the nicest overlooking the sea or a little way up in the hills behind. Dimitri, our very helpful and friendly host, made some useful recommendations

Welcome drink on arrival and a voucher for a free drink at the bar also. Pool area is relaxed and there are loungers on beach and round the pool so best of both options. Rooms are clean and comfortable

Friendly and very helpful staff. Our sons shared a room in which the air conditioning was ineffective and it was very b hot. Altho we mentioned it to the staff, nothing was done to rectify the situation.

This hotel mostly is for vacation at the pool. This hotel have 2 pools and close by acces to the beach. If you book this hotel be ready to pay extra for AC 12 € per night. Pay extra for beach sunbed 8€ per bed

But got much more than we thougt we would! The Hotel appers new, located pretty much on a nice beach, very clean rooms, a cute plungepool, and a staff that really made our stay a plesant experience

Our stay was wonderfully quiet and relaxing. The private swimming pool was amazing and the whole place felt peaceful. Both the room and shared spaces were very clean

Marika is right next to the beach which is amazing. What could be better than start your day with good breakfast and ocean view

The hotel area is really welcoming, clean and modern. Rooms have enough space and you don’t have to wonder where to put all your stuff when traveling with a friend or family

And about the staff… I could talk about the staff forever! Everyone are so nice, warm and always trying to make your day even better

We were there at the end of the season and always found parking ok and loads of sun beds around the pool and on the beach. Beach is nice, shingle rather than sand. Entertainment in the evening very good

We enjoyed the Thalassa Beach hotel, especially the pool and the beach lounge chairs. It was nice that there were always beach chairs available

Excellent stay, affordable and clean. Room was comfortable and easy to access. The breakfast bar was a nice treat. Hotel felt geared to older crowd, we are late 30s and were youngest in the pool and breakfast by far

We stayed at Thalassa for 3 nights and had an awesome experience. The resort was really beautiful with multiple restaurants and a beautiful beach

Local area is no doubt very busy in the high season, but many shops and restaurants had started to close while we were there

Only a short walk in to platanias and the beach and easy to get a bus in to chania. The staff were all lovely , friendly and helpful and we were able to get a late check out

Clean, pleasant hotel. Good food. It feels mainly aimed at families and this is reflected in the clientele. Easy ten minute walk into the centre of Platanias or to the beach from the quiet location.

The rooms are good but basic and we benefited from a sea view (room 115). The pool area is clean and sunbeds are plentiful. The few issues i had was the food and the bar area

Fairly large, clean pool, with deep and shallow end and a separate kids area. Pool towels are available for a refundable deposit. No shortage of sunbeds, plenty stacked up to the side

Sunrise Village is situated in a quiet area of Platanias but is only a 5 minute walk to the shops and restaurants and just a few minutes more to the beach. The Hotel is a 3 star hotel so do not expect anything more

Breakfast served in the semi open air terrace of the Basil Honey restaurant with the sun shining & waves crashing on the beach shore 10 metres away, amazing setting. Relax in the infinity style pool overlooking the ocean

The hotel exceeded all expectations: it is located right by the sea, with a beautiful pool, an amazing view from the window, clean, and tastefully decorated

The kids really enjoy swimming pool, we enjoyed the delicious breakfast outdoor overlooking the bay and island

Very close by there is a small port where you can rent a boat or take a ride on a motorboat. In the town, you can rent a car or enjoy a train ride around the surroundings. The hotel also offers free bicycles

It looks just like the photos and has a great feel to it, the sound of the sea, the attentive staff, the lovely pool and restaurant

We stayed for a week in September 2025 in a 2 apartments, both with sea view which was a real bonus, a 2 bed and a 1 bed. Thank you to everyone at Blue Dome, we had a wonderful time

We've enjoyed a couple of weeks staying in this hotel with wonderful staff. There was no loud music from the bar in the evenings unlike other nearby hotels

I’ve been here twice now and will come back again! Everything is great, people are helpful and friendly and breakfast is good. Also the pool is great!

Location is perfect - 4 beaches nearby, Lidl, bus station, nice park for morning jogging. Free gym is another big plus for fit people

Great location, room is very nice, and clean, rooms are cleaned daily. Not far from the beach and near to lots of restaurants and shops.

Perfect location, quiet, but close enough to Platanias center, yet right next to the beach. Studio was big enough with the balcony. Beds were a bit too hard and we could hear noices from the corridor

Cleaning was working well, fresh towells every second(?) day and sheets changed frequently enough. Pool was small and relaxing, as there were no children, which is a huge plus for this hotel

The ladies at the reception were especially lovely and went out of their way to assist with anything we needed. To top it all off, the hotel even gifted us a bottle of wine during our stay. Truly a fantastic experience!

You can tell that customer satisfaction is a true priority here. The hotel itself was clean, comfortable, and beautifully maintained, but it was really the people working there who made my stay special

Also the swimming pool closes at 7pm, which in summer is ridiculous as its so hot until then, so you kinda gotta chose if its beach day/half day or swimming pool day, plus bar also closes at 7pm, so you left with nothing to do after that hour there, during the day bar is open but expensive booze and low food options

We stayed in a one-bedroom apartment for three nights and this place is just fabulous. The apartments are very spacious and quiet, on nice grounds with a pool in the middle

The location is perfect being only a 5 minute walk from both the nearest beach and supermarkets. The pool area is lovely as you are surrounded by banana palms and shade is provided by olive trees

Stayed for one week, overall is OK experience if you don’t expect a lot. Nice relaxing garden with nice big swimming pool and pleasant to rest around in the sun-beds

Lots of cute cats around so be mindful if you are allergic. Easy access to nice beaches, restaurants and supermarkets. Annoying neighbours dog barking a lot

They also have a nice bar and light meals available with delicious chocolate shakes too. The family who runs the business are super friendly and very helpful

We really appreciated all the activities during the day and during the evening, the flowers and the trees were really beautiful and well maintained, all the resort was very clean

Regarding the food, there were a lot of options, including also traditional Greek food. We recommend Althea Village if you want a nice, quiet and fun holiday!

We had a great holiday at Althea Village this summer. It was our first holiday with our daughter which was 7 months old and the hotel felt perfect for us

Several beaches are also within a 10-15 minute walk, and we really enjoyed our slow evening walks to watch the sunset Food & Dining The food was excellent! Every evening there was something new and special, so it felt like trying a different cuisine each day

It has such a stylish, tropical vibe, sometimes we felt like we were in Bali, not just a hotel! A beautiful place to relax and take photos Facilities & sea There’s a gym right in the hotel area, which was very convenient

Facilities could be an issue for those with small children - there's a pool and a bar but no playground (to be honest, this lack suits us perfectly - it discourages those with young children which keeps it quieter for us!) The service is really what sets Sun City apart from almost everywhere else we've stayed and keeps us going back

Love the location with close walking distance to 4 lovely beaches, adjacent to Lidl and close to a Greek supermarket and tavernas. The owners and staff are all v v friendly

But not only the family,also the location is perfect,just 5 minutes walk from the beach,accross the road 2 great restaurants (Angelo and Oreganos), but you can also have great snacks at the hotel bar next to the swimming pool

A nice place to stay. Nothing fancy, but clean and a nice pool. The staff was especially friendly and helpful. There were two good restaurants right across the street. About a three or four block walk to the beach.

Unfortunately at the pool there was a group of young boys taking up the place by playing on air mattresses and ball and making disturbance for the other guests, owner Dina went to the pool and told them to leave! We appreciate that she took the ownership when the mothers of the young men didn’t :) Hope to come back

In both visits, I enjoyed a wonderful week at this hotel and I highly recommend it. Built next to the sea and near the centre of Platanias, in an area with many restaurants, shops and interesting activities

The new room has a very comfortable bed, but the bed in the older room might be a bit too narrow, but we slept well. It is next to the beach, which is a plus, and it is in the centre of the town

We were fortunate, and they went on and beyond their duties to help us. Further to it, the location of this hotel is perfect for exploring the Chania, the western beaches and the southern one

Each of the famous beaches is around 45-90 minutes. Ideal location as a base camp. If I have to come back to Crete, I will stay in this hotel

Sometimes we have stayed at the hotel and even if we are staying somewhere else, we always make time to go eat here. The lovely staff, good food and great ocean views make it worth for a visit

We spent two nights in this very nice, family-run hotel. Service was super-friendly always with a smile. We had one of the newly renovated rooms which was really good for our family of four

Short walk to 3 beaches, nearby free parking. Towels changed every 2 days and sheets every 3.Hob, kettle and fridge.

Everything was great and perfect... only onw complaint is that the mattress was in such bad shape i woke up in pain eveyday. Back pain and headaches other than that great stay. Great staff!!

Hotel location was great, if you have children, it's very close one of the best beaches for kids. Hotell stuff, they were always helpfull and smiling. We really enjoyed breakfasts.

When I was making the booking I saw free parking info and I liked this mark cause we were going to rent a car during our holiday. The hotel has only 3 spots for parking other than that the free parking is street parking

I loved this small hotel, the staff is so kind! Every morning we got different handmade Cretan delicacies, special thanks to Argiro! Our room was enormous, also had a small kitchen corner with fridge

The hotel location is great as-well only 3 minutes from the beach and and either a 45 minute walk from Chania harbour or a €10 taxi. Overall would very much recommend was a perfect place for a quite week get away

Just had 2 weeks at Hotel Kyriaki with Joseph and his team, its such a lovely hotel. The pool area and gardens are so beautiful, and there's 3 great beaches very close by too with bars and sunbeds

The beach is amazing, there's great snorkeling. Surf some days and lots of sun beds for hire. Chania is close by on the bus, loads of great shops and restaurants. We love it and we will be back for sure

We have enjoyed our stay at Kallitsakis Beach Hotel. Great apartment with its own bedroom. A quiet hotel located right by the city center and right by the beach

The position is perfect, lots of restaurants around and sea within view. We came last year and still as lovely. Cannot fault this accommodation in any way. You are left in peace but help is only a second away

My family had the most amazing stay at the Kallitsakis Beach hotel. Myself and husband and our two young daughters  highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Platanias Town in Chania, Crete

The beach is at the end of the path, 50 meters away and the cozy center with shops, bars and restaurants around the corner. We had a fantastic time and definitely recommend this accommodation!

The apartments is located near the best child-friendly beach around Chania and it is only a 5-min walk to it. The beach has shallow waters, only small waves, shade from the sun because of the trees near it

Amazing place, amazing people, amazing location. If you think of perfect rest, with lovely sandy beaches, hosts who are there for every kind of hospitality, my only one word would be ZINOVIA!

The estate is surrounded by a lot of greenery, trees and big plant everywhere what makes it feel so comfortable and quiet romantic. The sea is just a 3 minute walk away

And the hosts are the embodiment of Greek hospitality: they offer a lot of suggestions of places to visits, restaurants to eat, things to do and can also tell you a lot about the Cretan history
