Best Hotels in Platanias

The beach resort is lovely, clean and the rooms are clean and can be cleaned daily. The food is lovely but it’s the same things every night with a very small variation so does get a bit boring by day 5-6

Extremely well managed hotel with friendly accommodating staff. Beautiful surroundings, excellent value for money.

Lovely cakes, ice cream and fruit for dessert. Good rooms with efficient cleaning, the area itself was also cleaned several times a day. However, there were a few things that surprised us

We did use it one day and as the resort was shut there was only one other family there, only downside was we couldn’t use the shop as it had closed down for the season but the main rd is very close

The food was excellent – delicious, varied, and plentiful. Even though the hotel had many guests, the restaurant never felt crowded and the service from the waiters was consistently high-quality

The hotel is situated in the middle of loads of family friendly restaurants all serving delicious food and we were able to rent a car for the day easily, with access to the hotel’s free parking also

Good overall, well managed but has some are Good overall. We stayed in an imperial room on the beach side of the hotel. Very good facilities overall, but some of the rooms need to be updated and soundproofed

This is one of the best hotels I have stayed at. They have for sure the nicest staff ever. So accommodating. Great food the breakfast buffet is so so good. Definitely will come back and recommend highly.

We spent the last night of our weeks holiday at this resort as a treat. The room was very good - very clean. Some excellent perks such as welcome drinks / cocktails and a bottle of wine

The breakfast was good but I was told I could not take my coffee out from the breakfast area - whatever we had had to be consumed there. Bearing in mind the pool can literally be 5 steps away from the breakfast area

Would we go back again - maybe - the layout and rooms and gifts were very good

Since not everything is perfect, towards the end of our stay, the room next door got occupied and I could hear them being intimate, so thin the walls are! The cleaning lady filled the shower gel container with water, and did not refill the lotion

The hotel had a very chill vibe, good entertainment but very child focused- but separate from bars so we just stayed at the bar and played uno it was lovely!! There was not many teenagers so hard for the kids to make friends- it’s not a friend making hotel

We just returned from a week holiday and we had a wonderful time at this hotel. I would definitely recommend this hotel

Once some men came in from outside of the hotel without wristbands and drank beer and ate food and swam and then when they got figured out left- it must be a thing they do with hundreds of hotels, so keep phones close

The hotel was extremely safe other than that and it was fine to leave belongings. Right next to the beach it was a few steps away so great for sunset pictures. Overall an amazing holiday I loved it so much, thank you

We got the room at the lowest ground which was a bit dark but travelling with a toddler was very handy as we weren’t woken up at the sunrise 😅 and the bushes around the balcony (we complained about them at first) turned out to be very handy at evenings when we sat there during heavy wind

We still could enjoy the quiet evening there without freezing. Rooms are fully equipped with toaster, coffee maker fridge freezer and table for 4 ppl. Room was cleaned every day with fresh towels

Starting from reception, everyone was very friendly and helpful. We were offered to leave baggage’s at the reception and stuff will take them to the room

The food was also very good, breakfast and all. About 35-40 minutes to Chania by bus. You can also rent a car to travel to other parts of the island

We spent some holidays in a past years in a hotels better and worst and we had some sort of level of everything that we didn’t want go lower

We’ve searched for this year holiday for 6 months because one bad review put us off. But decided to spend this year at Caldera and that was the best decision ever

One lady from Romania ( so sorry I forgot her name) made such an effort to speak and better her English with us (which was very good anyway) hats off to all staff!! How the aqua aerobics lady manages in that heat is beyond me! I never participate is things like that but we loved it

Fantastic hotel in a beautiful area! We arrived late night and were greeted by a bottle of water & plate of food in our room which we were incredibly greatful for! The room a support studio was perfect for the 2 of us with everything we needed

There are different tastes for every day and, best of all, wonderful local food. The rooms are bright and very clean. We warmly recommend this wonderful place to stay

Our stay was wonderfully quiet and relaxing. The private swimming pool was amazing and the whole place felt peaceful. Both the room and shared spaces were very clean

The pools are inviting and the hotel is right on the beach. The town has loads of restaurants and shops

Didn't like the location adn breakfast quality is poor! On the other side, Staff were amazing 10 points. Same at the bar same at the gugine restaurant. Nice cocktails, pasta and good vibes staff..

We were there at the end of the season and always found parking ok and loads of sun beds around the pool and on the beach. Beach is nice, shingle rather than sand. Entertainment in the evening very good

We booked an additional night (originally 3 nights) but I think they were going to offer us a different/upgrade room for the last night but I didn’t want the hassle of moving our stuff

We had all inclusive and the food was overall more than good enough for the whole family- for all meals

I read reviews and viewed photos, and I must admit that the hotel looks much better than in the photos, and we had a wonderful stay! We stayed eight nights and everything was great! The service, the delicious breakfast, the small but adequate gym, and above all, the location right on the beach, close to many attractions, yet in a very quiet area

We spent a week at Geroniotis, and had a really good time. The hotel is big, but since it’s a lot of small houses, it still has a cozy feeling to it while still being an all-inclusive hotel

We really appreciated all the activities during the day and during the evening, the flowers and the trees were really beautiful and well maintained, all the resort was very clean

Regarding the food, there were a lot of options, including also traditional Greek food. We recommend Althea Village if you want a nice, quiet and fun holiday!

We had a great holiday at Althea Village this summer. It was our first holiday with our daughter which was 7 months old and the hotel felt perfect for us

The staff was really nice, everyday they were waiting for us with lunch prepared special for our daughter (at that moment she was eating only boiled vegetables), the room had a crib only for her, the "village" was quiet so we enjoyed our stay

Several beaches are also within a 10-15 minute walk, and we really enjoyed our slow evening walks to watch the sunset Food & Dining The food was excellent! Every evening there was something new and special, so it felt like trying a different cuisine each day

Very close by there is a small port where you can rent a boat or take a ride on a motorboat. In the town, you can rent a car or enjoy a train ride around the surroundings. The hotel also offers free bicycles

Right next to the sea, beautiful sceneries, excellent service and restaurant! Large and clean room! Highly recommended!

The hotel exceeded all expectations: it is located right by the sea, with a beautiful pool, an amazing view from the window, clean, and tastefully decorated

Just a five-minute walk from the hotel there is a local boulevard with a huge number of restaurants, a grocery store, and an excellent butcher’s shop

We stayed for a week in September 2025 in a 2 apartments, both with sea view which was a real bonus, a 2 bed and a 1 bed. Thank you to everyone at Blue Dome, we had a wonderful time

Location is great, it’s calm yet just minutes away from shops, restaurants, bars, supermarkets, mini golf…. Chania is less than a half hour drive (but difficult to park)

Everything in this hotel is excellent. Run by a wonderful family who are so friendly and can’t do enough for you. Everything is spotless and well cared for. Rooms are well equipped with everything you need. Excellent

A nice place to stay. Nothing fancy, but clean and a nice pool. The staff was especially friendly and helpful. There were two good restaurants right across the street. About a three or four block walk to the beach.

Unfortunately at the pool there was a group of young boys taking up the place by playing on air mattresses and ball and making disturbance for the other guests, owner Dina went to the pool and told them to leave! We appreciate that she took the ownership when the mothers of the young men didn’t :) Hope to come back

But not only the family,also the location is perfect,just 5 minutes walk from the beach,accross the road 2 great restaurants (Angelo and Oreganos), but you can also have great snacks at the hotel bar next to the swimming pool

Hotel location was great, if you have children, it's very close one of the best beaches for kids. Hotell stuff, they were always helpfull and smiling. We really enjoyed breakfasts.

The location was excellent, near a couple of mini supermarkets and a ten minute ( I strolled slowly) walk to a clean sandy beach I don’t normally visit a place more than once but I would return here

Hotel has a pool, we didn’t go in it as weather too cold but it looked nice. An excellent Greek restaurant around the corner (recommended by the hotel) and supermarkets close by

Loved it here! From the moment we arrived we were warmly welcomed. The staff are EXCEPTIONAL! The apartment was very clean, very comfortable, lots of hot water

We stayed here for 1 night whilst visiting Chania. Just a few kms / short drive to the main area of Chania. TV, small balcony, air con and small kitchen

The food in the restaurant is excellent. It is as nice or even better than in town. The family who runs it is top! Super friendly and nice. They gave us the best advice we could ask

Sometimes we have stayed at the hotel and even if we are staying somewhere else, we always make time to go eat here. The lovely staff, good food and great ocean views make it worth for a visit

We spent two nights in this very nice, family-run hotel. Service was super-friendly always with a smile. We had one of the newly renovated rooms which was really good for our family of four

The new room has a very comfortable bed, but the bed in the older room might be a bit too narrow, but we slept well. It is next to the beach, which is a plus, and it is in the centre of the town

I have to say I was amazingly surprised by this family-run hotel. The rooms have all you need (except an iron, but I didn’t ask for it either)

The trash can was filthy, looked like dirt/poo on the inside of the door, mold in the shower etc. But everyone the cleaning lady was done it was good even though the above things still was there

everything was great, from the location to the actual hotel. Very good looking rooms and garden. Tasty breakfast with plenty options m. The staff was very polite and the place is very clean.

The bed are good, the pillow however. We had with a pentry and it was working but lacking of utility’s spoons, forks and so on. I was told it was good sound denting in the rooms but it wasn’t

Hotel was just amazing! Very clean and cosy rooms, combining traditional style with modern facilities. Staff was so nice! Reception called us to let us know that we can have early check in

The location is good and the breakfast is barely acceptable. Second, the front desk is a bit inconvenient at 8 am and 10 pm. If you go out every day or work, and just sleep in the room, it is actually a good choice

There is onsite parking but it’s a bit tight to maneuver if you have a full size car. The hotel is only a few minutes walk from Platanias Beach and Agia Marina is less than a mile away

The apartment was good enough, there was not much space in the bathroom.

Sweet and friendly staff, backyard to the pool was lovely to chill on, rooftop was pretty and spacious, location by a lot of tavernas and pubs, only minus from the air condition that used to leak some nights, didn’t really bother us we just put something under so it wasn’t leaking on the floor

Small apartment hotel, located at the very center of Platanias. The hotel is located just a few minutes walk from the central square, the shops, the bars and the restaurants. The beach is 2 minutes away by foot

This was out first trip to Crete. And we are SO please with this hotel!! Nice clean rooms in a very authentic style. The owner, the receptionist and the cleaning lady made us feel right at home

Although not a modern hotel, its freshly renovated bathrooms and windows combine with traditionall wooden furniture to create a cosy warm, village-like atmosphere

There is also a small pool for a splash bath, and a large terrace on top, to enjoy the sunset with a beer. Clean and tidy with warm welcoming stuff and owners

Well kept hotel and very clean. Beds were comfy, good pillows. 2 min walk to the main street with all the restaurant and shops. Then a further 4 min walk to the beach. The size of the apartment was a positive for us

very good location, very clean and very comfortable rooms! Dimitri is the best host i ever met! very precious and correct advices and recommendations! He offered us free fresh orange juice, in the fridge we found water and a good bottle of wine! The pictures are exactly like in reality, so you will not have any bad surprises

Lots of good local restaurants, the nicest overlooking the sea or a little way up in the hills behind. Dimitri, our very helpful and friendly host, made some useful recommendations

Like he said: “nothing less, nothing more”! if all the hosts would be like Dimitri, we all will be happy to travel, without worries! Very quiet, tavernas and supermarkets very close, free parking, beach in the front of the hotel! so, what else would you want for a perfect location for your holiday? thank you again, Dimitri, for helping us to have a perfect vacation!

Water and wine waited for us in the fridge, he served us with fresh orange juice 🍊🍊🍊 and gave us local raki when he found out that we like that 😄 Beautiful apartment with a very high standard 👍 We can highly recommend this place and we would love to come back!

The hotel has its own parking and has plenty of restaurants nearby, beachfront as well as in the main street. The host is very friendly, he offered a lot of valuable suggestions for spending time around the island

The rooms had a king size beds and a living room with a sofa and water kettle and a coffee machine with coffee capsules and a good size fridge

The rooms were cleaned daily, with new towels, the bedding were changed every other day. The whole staff are very friendly and goes above and beyond to make your stay as pleasant as possible

If I was to have one slight negative it would be the room we were given (130) which was right at the back of the grounds. Not much storage other than the wardrobe with x10 hangers

Owner/General Maganger Dimitris came to greet us and welcomed us home, we feel like family. We stayed in two rooms during our 2 weeks stay beyond our control

We were bed & breakfast and found enough each morning to satisfy us. The top pool is probably the better of the two with the bar staff being great

Location was ideal as it was close to shops, bus stop and a stones throw away from the beach. The place was clean and neat when we arrived. It had spacious rooms and a good size terrace with chairs and a table

The hotel is located in Platanias, nearby Agia Marina. This is a small, but cozy hotel with service-minded and nice staff. The management is allways solution-oriented. The hotel has air-condition and sunbeds

The rooms were cleaned when we went out and the lady we met always had a big smile while saying good morning. It was a quiet place and had sun beds and umbrellas at the beachfront

Walking distance to a lot of great restaurants and souvenir shops. Also a good bakery where we frequent for breakfast is just right up the road. Thank you for the hospitality 🙏🏼

Not 24/7 but when it was open it was on point. Our room was nice and we had a greta view from or beach front room, Kitchen in room had all the things we needed

Recommended! Clean, good service and perfect location! Very helpful staff. Sunbeds are right by the beach and included. Comfortable size of the rooms and cozy atmosphere. We highly recommend this place.

The local taxi driver , who was friendly and really helpful, said we had picked the best place for us, but just at the wrong time of year

Anyway it was not the fault of the hotel but I also think that maybe it should be made clear when they accept the booking that the resort does not really open up until May/June? It would have helped us

However what we didn’t realise is that the resort is actually closed as it was so early in the season. There was nothing on the beach, only 1 restaurant was open and the shops were all closed

As we couldn’t possibly entertain ourselves and 2 kids for the week, we ended up moving to Chania the next day so had to pay for another place to stay for the week

We let the manager know why and he was very nice and offered help if we needed it - not sure what that could be - maybe be could’ve given us a lift to Chania

Whilst I do acknowledge we should have researched this more , all of the research I did do let me to this resort
