We had a lovely week at Aetheras Beach, Dimitris took care of us in an excellent way. Water and wine waited for us in the fridge, he served us with fresh orange juice 🍊🍊🍊 and gave us local raki when he found out that we like that 😄 Beautiful apartment with a very high standard 👍 We can highly recommend this place and we would love to come back!

My family and I didn’t stay here—thankfully. We were staying nearby, though. One of my family members unknowingly took a sunbed from Aetheras because it was placed on the public beach sand, with no clear indication it belonged to anyone. A guy working at Aetheras (he was in charge with the sunbeds it seems) came over and verbally assaulted my family member. After a few minutes, the employee took a piece of wood and ACTUALLY HIT HIM in the head with it. My family member is currently in the hospital in Chania because of this. Avoid this place—for your own safety.

We had an extremely unpleasant experience with the owner of this hotel, who was very aggressive both verbally and physically. We were not staying at Aetheras, but a member of our family took a sunbed belonging to the hotel, not knowing it was theirs. The owner came over, started shouting aggressively, and then grabbed a stick and hit our family member on the head. He is now in the hospital with a crushed skull and undergoing medical investigations.

Wonderful Stay by the Beach! 🏖️ I had a truly lovely experience at this property. The location is unbeatable—right by the beach in a quiet, peaceful, and exceptionally clean area. Everything you need is within walking distance: the Atlas supermarket, bus stop, and other conveniences are just across the street. The host was absolutely fantastic—kind, welcoming, and always ready to help. His hospitality and many tips made the stay feel warm and personal. The room itself was fresh, spotlessly clean, and incredibly comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised by the very reasonable prices, especially given the prime location and the quality of service. It’s one of those rare places that balances charm and convenience perfectly. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing beach getaway—and I’ll definitely be returning! 🌅

Peaceful location on a beautiful sandy beach, just off the busy main road . Agia Marina is a few miles west of Hania with frequent buses. Lots of good local restaurants, the nicest overlooking the sea or a little way up in the hills behind. Dimitri, our very helpful and friendly host, made some useful recommendations. Very clean, comfortable air conditioned accommodation with smart new shower room. We hope to come again.

We spent some holidays in a past years in a hotels better and worst and we had some sort of level of everything that we didn’t want go lower. We’ve searched for this year holiday for 6 months because one bad review put us off.
But decided to spend this year at Caldera and that was the best decision ever.
Starting from reception, everyone was very friendly and helpful. We were offered to leave baggage’s at the reception and stuff will take them to the room. We didn’t use this service.
We got the room at the lowest ground which was a bit dark but travelling with a toddler was very handy as we weren’t woken up at the sunrise 😅 and the bushes around the balcony (we complained about them at first) turned out to be very handy at evenings when we sat there during heavy wind. We still could enjoy the quiet evening there without freezing.
Rooms are fully equipped with toaster, coffee maker fridge freezer and table for 4 ppl.
Room was cleaned every day with fresh towels. Even all teddies in the cot were placed nicely.
The area around the hotel was very clean and neat. Cleaned everyday. When the guy that was cutting the grass noticed that my child wasn’t comfortable with the noise stopped immediately and let us pass without stressing the child.
The main point - food was absolutely amazing! There was nothing we didn’t like and we are picky eaters.
Loads of choices from meat, fish, veggie, and seasoned perfectly. The local corner was our favourite. Hummus, cheese thyme honey ♥️
Local sweets for dessert ♥️ if I only had two stomachs to fit it all in 😅

Loads of classes at the pool. From kids swimming lessons to aqua aerobic, kids corner with activities.
The direct access to beach was definitely a huge advantage for an evening walk when is quieter than during the day.
We’ve travelled around and at the local areas (as we prefer to stay between locals on holiday) and I must say I’m in love with Crete after this holiday. With the views and spices and food ♥️

Great resort. We are in one of the ground floor rooms. Would have give an extra star if I had a better view from my patio. Some rooms will have.

Very nice location, with direct access to the beach. We booked an apartment with sea view, with a large terrace, very clean and comfortable. The hotel has its own parking and has plenty of restaurants nearby, beachfront as well as in the main street. The host is very friendly, he offered a lot of valuable suggestions for spending time around the island. We arrived at in the middle of the night and he waited for us without any issues. Really good value for money!

Very happy my first holiday in years. I took a long time scanning the Internet for a destination and I chose this 👌 I must say I was happy. Jet2 were fantastic and I will use them again also. When we landed at the hotel there was an issue with our room so we got moved to the sister hotel over the road for one night which was fine, then they gave us a free massage and late check out also for the inconvenience which wasn't really an issue. We also got use of both hotels bars and restaurants, this was great as we didn't even complain about anything. The massage was fantastic, the food was unbelievable such a massive amount of selections. The bars were good 👍 all inclusive drinks however do seem a little watered down but hey ho saved a bad head the next day. The beach is literally next to the pool and was great for sunbathing and snorkeling. Chania is about 15 mins walk and there is a lidl about 10 mins walk which is cheap if you were self catering. You can walk either way down the beach to find more places to go. We got a bus for 20mins about 2euro each to old town and the harbour was beautiful 😍

Lovely hotel with great customer service and fabulous food. Spacious rooms cleaned daily very well. What makes this hotel special is their greatest asset and thats the staff who are sociable, friendly and go above and beyond. Leaving a piece of our hearts in Crete
