Very quiet, wonderful quiet garden and lovely outdoor pool. Breakfast and dinner very varied and delicious. Room tidied/cleaned once every 7 days!

Michelin-starred cuisine Service, staff, cleanliness, treatment and therapeutic care, everything is simply perfect! And the food: if a buffet restaurant could be given Michelin stars, this chef would have to get it! Simply Michelin-starred cuisine and service! We'll be back next year!

Everything was very clean. The staff was very friendly. Breakfast was very extensive and there was a large selection. We were less satisfied with the evening buffet. There is room for improvement.

No reviews since 2018 . . . let's update things in November 2023. The entire hotel has been beautifully renovated and is worthy of a four star rating. The design and architecture are really super and they are currently building a new thermal water spa. All new furniture and great design everywhere. Good parking. HOWEVER . . . . whether Covid has hit them, or maybe they just can't get the right staff...

It's a big, busy (in August), probably late socialist-era resort hotel that's actually quite pleasant. And cheap. There's a holiday vibe. For an overnight stay it's excellent and I wouldn't have minded staying longer. I didn't try any of the many "health"/beauty treatments on offer but they're inexpensive. (The lifts/elevators are few and slow.)

This hotel is stunning. We loved our room that we stayed in. It also has a wonderful location. Our longest walk to landmarks was around 25 minutes. I highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Budapest.

The accommodation is really clean and well-organized, and its position in the city center is ideal. Parking is available outside the hotel, but it is slightly more expensive. I always stay here and will stay again on my future trip to Budapest.

We booked a selected family room, which was surprisingly large, equivalent to two suites, each with a bathroom, refrigerator and safe. Real good value to money hotel in great location

There are good and bad things, the bad part first: It's not worth getting full pension, as they serve the same food all week, with no variety but the taste is not bad. Plates, cutlery, glasses, and where the food is served are mostly dirty and poorly cleaned. I recently stayed here for one night and this was an ok experience. Check-in was smooth but lacked a bit of friendliness; no smiles, no 'welcome to our hotel', The room was big and clean as was the bathroom, but in comparison with the room size, this was a small area. Decent rooms and decent breakfast

It was an easy process. We felt safe and the breakfast was delicious.

Hotel staff were courteous but will benefit from additional customer service training such as smiling and show some excitement about the work.

The prices are okay, as is the service, but the food would not be something I would recommend. The soup and the main dish were mediocre at best. The rice, for example, was one of the worst rice I've ever eaten, totally bland and way overcooked. The dessert was pretty good though.

The bar staff failed to notice that I was standing right in front of them for about 15 minutes so I left. The following morning at breakfast, I asked where I can find the cutlery and the server practically shouted at me stating that he would sort it out. We had a wonderful stay at the Margareta Hotel. Really nice staff and excellent food (we had half board). The room looks a bit older, but it is very clean. We took the opportunity to play table tennis and the children and wife tried a very pleasant wellness. I stayed in a deluxe king room on the 6th floor. It had a balcony, and overall the experience was very good. Breakfast was served hot, so it had to be cooked to order; other meals were buffet style. The environment was nice, the location was good, and it was convenient for getting around.

Very, very nice. It was built in the 1830s, as I recall. It is very pretty. Huge garden. Beautiful stained glass windows. An interesting walking path or two. We had a large balcony that was very nice. We were there on night so we did not get to take advantage of everything. I would recommend at least two nights if you want to take advantage of everything available.

We had the superior rooms which were quite spacey. Bathroom is a bit old. But the rooms had a nice view on the historic church across the street. (Bells at 6:00). Perfect location for a stroll around the city. The pools and saunas were very nice to relax. Everything is a bit old but still does for a comfortable stay.

Recent three day stay. Great location right across the road from the Metro. Staff were very helpful upon check and during our stay. One thing I must mention is that the breakfast was fantastic. We are planing another trip to Budapest soon and will be staying at the Nemzeti again.

The view is breath-taking. Silent area, very nice after season is over. Swimming pool is very pleasant. The restaurant downstares is as good as any 5-star hotel restaurant in the capital.
