its big. the nights we were there the kitchen area turned into a lot of fun. A bunch of people trying to cook in, and have a few drinks to save money turned into a big group out on the town.

Probably the cheapest accommodation in whole Iceland and the equipment is accordingly. The rooms consisted of concrete floor, 4 walls, one jacket rack and beds. No table, no chair and nothing else. Took this photo in the lobby on my vacation a few months ago. Tried to figure it out who it was. Took me a minute but that's Eddie Sparks. The guy who found anonymous in the US. He's super famous in tech. Hotel was nice with the bar and outside area with roof access too.

Great location! Room was comfortable enough. Shared female restroom need some throughout cleaning as the mildew is all over the showers. It is very hard to get a good night of sleep with people in and out slamming the main door. The shared kitchen is a good idea but could use some cleaning. Also when I booked it said that luggage store was provided free but apparently to be safe you have to get paid...

The staff are super friendly and helpful. Though a bit out of town, it is close to the bus terminal for airbus. Taking a bue to city centre is also easy and convenient. Student canteen and bar provide good food at lower price. Good value for money.

Great place, it needs some improvements The place was amazing and the staff was very friendly. I wish the rooms would come with body wash and shampoo, or at least offer the option to buy a small bottle of body wash and shampoo at a reasonable price. I had to buy a big bottle from the store that I ended up using it twice and then throwing an almost full bottle into the garbage because I can't fly back...

Beds were comfy, kitchen and hallways were very nice. Our room was assigned wrong originally but they were very helpful and upgraded us to a private bathroom. The shower flooded the bathroom with no mat and we only had 1 towel each, so we weren't able to dry the floor, but other than that we would definitely stay again.

Nice find. Really nice student hostel within walking distance of central Reykjavik. Clean, warm, comfortable. One niggle - I could have benefitted from two pillows but this is a small thing and didn’t detract from the overall experience. I’d definitely stay here again. One piece of advice. Good stay! Room was a great location for touring the downtown cheaply. Included free parking just a short walk away. Would definitely recommend if in the area. Only issue we had was the shower drain didn't work well.

Hi Eco Hostel has a great atmosphere for all ages, we found it a lovely place to meet people and enjoyed the cafe bar and kitchen areas. Our superior double room was very comfortable on our first stay, but the double room was less comfortable and it was really noisy on Friday night, so we wouldnt choose it again on a weekend. But on other nights, it is an ideal place to meet people.

Wow! I really loved this location and the community was great! I have stayed at multiple hostels in my travels so I am familiar with shared spaces. I stayed in the 8 room female dorm with a shared bathroom. They provide ear plugs and all the guests I encountered were courteous. The price was phenomenal for all of the amenities. I used the kitchen daily and loved all of the community space to hang out...

Beautiful and friendly hostel. Rooms are cleaned daily. Very friendly staff. The owner is lovely and has a beautiful dog. The bar area is a plus, full of sofas, chairs, and all kinds of games. Last but not least, a magnificent terrace overlooking the main street downtown. The kitchen is open 24/7. Super central location.

The location is excellent, with easy access to food options and shops. I stayed in an 8-bed female dorm, and the room was very spacious with its own private bathroom and a hairdryer provided. However, the storage space is insufficient, and there is no bedside reading light for each bed, which would have improved comfort. I have booked this pod for my trip in Reykjavik in 2019. The idea of the pods is amazing, they give you almost the privacy of a private bedroom (except noise-wise), but at the price of a dorm bed. Staff was kind. Price was great. I appreciate they sell some snacks, so you don't have to go out if you are just a bit hungry and have no food. Ok location. The reception has nice couches and a great view.

Not enough space for baggage in the room. The kitchen is too small. Half of the showers don't work. But location is excellent.

We tried it because the pods looked fun and a bit more private than a typical hostel. There were more than enough toilets for the amount of guests, and they seemed to be very clean. The pods did not seem to lock at all but would still recommend for the experience.

Great location, quirky concept, but has gone downhill a bit since I last visited 4 years ago. Not just as fresh and more of a hostel feel than it used to have. Maybe just because it was peak season, but the pods don't lock anymore, the TVs weren't working properly, they don't offer headphones so I could never use the TV as I had wireless headphones. It was fine, but not as amazing as I remembered.

We stayed here overnight and enjoyed our time here. It was very clean and quiet, even in the day. The walls are cool with everyone’s signatures. There is a kitchen to cook/store your food or leave it for someone else. The common area has a great vibe. Free wi-fi. There are small lockers for carry-on sized bags, but checked bags sit unlocked in the room. Our stuff was safe and nobody messed with it...

Very clean place far away from the city centre. The beds have no curtains but they are provided with a little lamp and a plug. Several toilets available and a short front desk opening times. I had left my luggage in the morning and the reception was locked since 4pm so I needed to dial from a foreign nr so I could collect my luggage. Great place. Very good quality / price relation. For relatively good price you will get a place to stay in very good location im Reykjavik. Short walk to The city center, bus station right around the corner. Hostel offers shared kitchen with everything you may need and multiple bathrooms.

This hotel is excellent! Even though it has shared bathrooms, they are very convenient and clean. The kitchen is fully equipped, allowing us to make breakfast and simple stir-fries for lunch. We plan to stay here again after returning our rental car.

Everything about this hostel is amazing. I have done memories of the stay, and I wanna go back. The place is spotless, quiet and super comfy. The front desk lady has amazing taste in music and will make you feel right at home. The kitchen was the most eventful place and I made a few friends there. Absolutely loved this place.

Stayed here for 5 days during my recent to Iceland. Its very chic and comfy! Our room had a great view of the church! The staff are super friendly and helpful! Its affordable and quiet for a hostel. This hostel ranks among the worst I've experienced in Europe. The 4th floor is supposed to have hairdryers. On my first day, I asked the front desk and they said one should be there but it had 'disappeared'. They had spares, but never restocked them, so I had to go down and borrow one every time. Once, they even lent me two broken ones in a row. In the restrooms, I'd find one out of three stalls...

When we arrived I accidentally booked a day late but the receptionist immediately helped me fix it and even though we were like 4 hours early for check in they let us into our room! A very... unique experience, my first time staying in a youth hostel. There were 2 guys and 2 girls, each from a different country. I wouldn't recommend bringing large suitcases, as there's not much space to open them in the room and the aisles are quite narrow. It's a good idea to bring disposable bedding (sheets, duvet cover, pillowcase) and a lock for the locker.

It was better than we expected, friendly staff, clean amenities, spacious room, kitchen was provided as well, knowing everything is so expensive in Iceland, we can’t avoid to prepare our own food while getting ingredients from supermarket nearby. We’vecaught our first northern light in our life at the hostel nearby as well! Everything seems so perfect!

The bed was comfortable and the room warm however there is no cooking facilities and my apps. wouldn't recognise the old TV nor were there free to air availability. Location was good, staff inattentive though.

Very nice guesthouse with excellent, service oriented staff. Functional kitchen, amenities and clean common areas.

Towels were provided in the room but it is shared toilets. Things were generally clean but quite worn. Communication from the property was prompt and in advance which was good.

Situated in a quiet neighborhood, this guesthouse has ample parking and a very nice cafe with a full lunch and dinner menu, bar and fresh made bakery items as well. The shower/sink /toilet areas were clean, bedding was very comfortable. The building, public lounges and rooms all felt safe. Located in downtown Reykjavik, this little hostel still offers you a quiet environment for your stay. The owners are nice and friendly and also very caring about you. They offer you a bed in a small, clean building, which definitely is the best value for money you can get. I very much recommend you staying a few nights there!

Hostel is very small. And rooms are very bright and muggy in the evening. It was one of the cheaper options so I guess you get what you pay for, but there are no common areas so people tend to hang out and be loud in the sleeping area. Also no hreakfast. Wouldn't stay again, and I am a budget traveler.

Fabulous location, affordable cost considering every other place in Reykjavik. The managers who work there are so accommodating and very friendly. Very clean facilities, and has a kitchen and fridge that every guest is free to use. Highly recommend staying here, especially for anyone on a budget.

This is one of the friendliest places I've ever stayed. The owners work hard to ensure that everyone feels welcome and give some excellent travel advice for exploring Iceland. Because of this wonderfully welcoming atmosphere making friends and getting to know people. I'd recommended this hostel to anyone. It is spotlessly clean, accessible, and in a great location.

Great little hostel in the heart of Reykjavik. Run by the nicest family who's personal touch makes you feel at ease. Lots of bathrooms and they keep the place extremely clean. If you are looking to a nice hostel experience then stay here.
