Reykjavik, 121 Hringbraut (60 min from centre) 🧭 Map
its big. the nights we were there the kitchen area turned into a lot of fun. A bunch of people trying to cook in, and have a few drinks to save money turned into a big group out on the town.
Probably the cheapest accommodation in whole Iceland and the equipment is accordingly. The rooms consisted of concrete floor, 4 walls, one jacket rack and beds. No table, no chair and nothing else. This is fine though, since you get what you pay for. The comon area is spacious and the kitchen has everything that you need for simple meals. Also the location is decent and only a 15 minute walk from the...
Took this photo in the lobby on my vacation a few months ago. Tried to figure it out who it was. Took me a minute but that's Eddie Sparks. The guy who found anonymous in the US. He's super famous in tech. Hotel was nice with the bar and outside area with roof access too.

Reykjavik, Skogarhlid 10, Hlidar, 105 Reykyavik, Stolichnaya oblast, Islandiya (in the centre) 🧭 Map
Very clean place far away from the city centre. The beds have no curtains but they are provided with a little lamp and a plug. Several toilets available and a short front desk opening times. I had left my luggage in the morning and the reception was locked since 4pm so I needed to dial from a foreign nr so I could collect my luggage. The staff was very kind but I would have appreciated more information...
Excellent location very good service everything nice tidy and very respectfull staff
This hotel is excellent! Even though it has shared bathrooms, they are very convenient and clean. The kitchen is fully equipped, allowing us to make breakfast and simple stir-fries for lunch. We plan to stay here again after returning our rental car.
The guy at the front desk was kind and helpful, rooms comfortable enough.A toaster in the kitchen would be great.
To my surprise, the time to access the locker is only from 9am onwards!!! (only when the staff is at the reception). My plan was to put my luggage into the locker and I have to catch a morning bus at 7am the next day!! Next time please design the lockers in a way such that it is accessible 24/7 😅😅 Anyways, I still figured out a way - which is to walk to the bus terminal to leave my luggage at the...
Good 👍 clean in the center There were a lot of people in the room, 16 people in total.

This hostel ranks among the worst I've experienced in Europe. The 4th floor is supposed to have hairdryers. On my first day, I asked the front desk and they said one should be there but it had 'disappeared'. They had spares, but never restocked them, so I had to go down and borrow one every time. Once, they even lent me two broken ones in a row. In the restrooms, I'd find one out of three stalls...
A very... unique experience, my first time staying in a youth hostel. There were 2 guys and 2 girls, each from a different country. I wouldn't recommend bringing large suitcases, as there's not much space to open them in the room and the aisles are quite narrow. It's a good idea to bring disposable bedding (sheets, duvet cover, pillowcase) and a lock for the locker.
It was better than we expected, friendly staff, clean amenities, spacious room, kitchen was provided as well, knowing everything is so expensive in Iceland, we can’t avoid to prepare our own food while getting ingredients from supermarket nearby. We’vecaught our first northern light in our life at the hostel nearby as well! Everything seems so perfect!
The hostel is OK but by hanging out rainbow flags everywhere you are assaulting traditional conservative people 👎why no Christian Cross on the wall?✝️
Wow, I really loved this hostel! The front desk service was excellent, and the facilities were new and complete. The room's view and comfort were outstanding, and I slept incredibly well every night. I'm truly grateful! 🙏 Highly recommend!
The accommodation's hygiene and location were decent. BUT!!! A very dangerous incident occurred today when I was checking out. I want to alert every guest staying here. I needed to check out at 3:30 AM to catch a car to the airport. But I discovered the elevator was broken! The staff said the elevator was out of order and I needed to use the stairs. So, I immediately turned around to take the stairs...

I personally feel that if you're planning to visit nearby attractions, you might want to reconsider staying here. It's quite a long walk to get anywhere, and while there are buses, they don't go to every destination. I chose this place mainly because of the cheap price and the fact that it was on the first floor (my luggage was very heavy), but I didn't realize it was so far from the sights. Self check...
The room is clean, the surrounding environment is good, and the check-in is convenient.
silent place , not far from bus stop,
The environment is nice and overall very clean; there is a kitchen where you can buy groceries and cook, because Iceland is very expensive and many Europeans cook for themselves; the disadvantage is that there are no staff and no one responds to emails when something happens; the bar and restaurant are separate on the first floor.
Cozy place suitable for solo traveler or economy travelers to choose this place as a stay
The check in is easy and you get to choose the bed. There is a bus stop in front of the place and minimart close by. The hostel is clean .

Reykjavik, 17 Vesturgata (45 min from centre) 🧭 Map
Room was clean and well supplied, staff-free facility, security, lighting seemed adequate, good location for me.
The room was a good size and very clean. The only slightly negative thing was not enough coat hangers but other than that, a great stay
The bed was comfortable and the room warm however there is no cooking facilities and my apps. wouldn't recognise the old TV nor were there free to air availability. Location was good, staff inattentive though.
Close to dining ,shopping ,.. clean comfortable room easy check in and check out small refrigerator, electric kettle, coffee maker that wr didnt use good communication
Very nice guesthouse with excellent, service oriented staff. Functional kitchen, amenities and clean common areas.
Towels were provided in the room but it is shared toilets. Things were generally clean but quite worn. Communication from the property was prompt and in advance which was good.

Reykjavik, Hringbraut 29, Midborg, 101 Reykyavik, Stolichnaya oblast, Islandiya (2 km from centre) 🧭 Map
The staff are super friendly and helpful. Though a bit out of town, it is close to the bus terminal for airbus. Taking a bue to city centre is also easy and convenient. Student canteen and bar provide good food at lower price. Good value for money.
Great place, it needs some improvements The place was amazing and the staff was very friendly. I wish the rooms would come with body wash and shampoo, or at least offer the option to buy a small bottle of body wash and shampoo at a reasonable price. I had to buy a big bottle from the store that I ended up using it twice and then throwing an almost full bottle into the garbage because I can't fly back...
Beds were comfy, kitchen and hallways were very nice. Our room was assigned wrong originally but they were very helpful and upgraded us to a private bathroom. The shower flooded the bathroom with no mat and we only had 1 towel each, so we weren't able to dry the floor, but other than that we would definitely stay again.
Nice find. Really nice student hostel within walking distance of central Reykjavik. Clean, warm, comfortable. One niggle - I could have benefitted from two pillows but this is a small thing and didn’t detract from the overall experience. I’d definitely stay here again. One piece of advice. It’s not obvious from the map where the hostel is. I walked right past it and saw other people do the same...
Good stay! Room was a great location for touring the downtown cheaply. Included free parking just a short walk away. Would definitely recommend if in the area. Only issue we had was the shower drain didn't work well.
The service is very good. The location of the hotel is very convenient. You can take the bus from the airport to the terminal and walk directly there. No problem. We are a very good hotel in summer. When you get to the bus terminal, you don’t have to enter the reception hall. Just go through the flowers and grass on the path. Of course, you can take your luggage with you. Don't press on the flowers...

Loft HI Hostel, Reykjavik1 / 29Good price

Reykjavik, 7 Bankastraeti (in the centre) 🧭 Map
Access was great. Location was prime, everything was in a walking distance. Plus there was a bar with a view on the rooftop.
Staying in Loft second year in a row. The best location in Reykjavik. Love the ambiance. Travelling with my adult daughter - booked a private room with a bunk bed. The bed is comfortable, bedsheets are crispy clean. Bathroom is very clean - love the color, too. The roof top terrace is amazing - and the common room on the top floor is pretty cool… We can afford to stay in a hotel - but we choose Loft...
Amazing for the price! It is in close proximity to absolutely everything. My dorm room was clean, cozy, and relatively spacious. It's not the most quiet hostel but not the most rowdy party hostel either. It has a good balance.
My first solo travel trip and I met a lot of wonderful people in my dorm room. Great location since it’s so close to the city centre and the bus stops for the day tours. Can get a bit loud at night but i was usually super tired after being out all day that I just slept through it without any issue. Really loved my stay here:)
Very nice. Everything about it. Yes it's expensive but not compared to everything else in Iceland. It really is a great deal considering the cost of things there. 4 floors. Elevator! Easy to follow entry instructions in case you arrive after hours (which I did with a delayed flight) the bus drops off a block away. And taxis pick up from Hard Rock Cafe nearby or they'll call you one. Each dorm has...
One of my favorite Hostels - only on weekdays though :) the restaurant and bar next door turns into a club on weekends and the walls will tremble from the bass vibrations. Otherwise, I actually love their vibe and staff is super friendly. And they have one of the coolest terraces to sip a craft beer. I stayed in three different rooms this and last year, and all of them are good, I prefer the bunk beds...
